Jared Leto has an excredible voice with an extraordinary range. The album does not disappoint.

What's great about it: The lyrics, the melodies...everything
The lyrics on this whole album are the best I've ever come across from a band. Every song is so easy to relate to and fall in love with. Singing along as loud as you can to this record feels like therapy for the soul. Do yourself a favor and find the lyrics online somewhere and read along for the first few times you take a listen. Every track will leave a lasting impression. Very haunting and very unique to the fullest. Buy this. You will be so unbelievably glad that you did.

What's great about it: Every track is great.
What's not so great: Waiting for the next album is agony.
A few years ago, the majority of the music that I listened to was R&B soul. I was looking for something different and purchased this CD on a whim. I am the type of person who ends up hating a song after over-exposure. I ended up listening to this CD constantly from start to finish for a week straight! It never gets old. I love the music, the lyrics, Jared's emotional voice, and Shannon's awesome drum rhythms. The debut album, while a little different, is just as good. This album encouraged me to explore other genres and now my iPod is full of alternative, thrash, industrial metal, melodic rock, darkwave, goth, techo, and anything else that appeals to me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Thoughtful lyrics, precise timing, amazing music
What's not so great: Not long enough
30 Seconds To Mars once again redefine modern alternative music with their sophomore album. Most noticable differences from the debut to 'ABL' are the lack of electronic overtones (they're still there, just pushed backwards) and the quality of vocals has improved (the distortion effects are gone). Don't let the fact that everyone loves them now turn you off of 30STM, they're still the same band that gave us "Capricorn" and "Edge Of The Earth" in 2002.

Very rarely do I ever come across a CD that I can play without skipping songs and listen all the way through. "A Beautiful Lie" is one of those albums. Probably one of the best CD's I've ever heard from a band! A+++
