What's great about it: sound, size, wall mount option What's not so great: none really
"these are great speakers. the sound quality that i get out of them is surprising given the size. one pair has been able to provide good sound with little noticeable distortion, even at higher volume levels. my only issue may be that the wires feel a little cheap, and aren't very long. other than that, these speakers are a great buy."

What's great about it: Loud for a small speaker. What's not so great: Bass frequency is to high.
"I bought these set of speakers to add on to my sound system. Now I have these + 80W Speakers + a 500W Sub. I mainly set the settings so that they produce more vocals and high frequency sounds. Doing this makes a huge add on to my sound."

What a BANG for the buck

What's great about it: Very small, very inexpensive, great sound What's not so great: None found
"I finally unpacked these (bought them last year), to put with my new Insignia plasma TV. Driven by a small receiver, with the input from my TV, these sound better, in many regards, than the built-in Bose system on my other TV! Until I actually listened to them, I expected a minimal improvement over the TV speakers...Boy oh Boy was I amazed. The bass response is the best I've ever heard on such tiny speakers. The midrange & highs are crystal clear, and the soundstage is impressive."

What's great about it: Works on movies and music, Great for guitar amps, Easy set up What's not so great: Clarity, Lacks bass sub capacity
"I was looking to set up a home theater for a low price and went with Insignias. They worked well through 10 or 15 feet of speaker wire, (no lag). The only problem was when turned up, they would rattle and give a vibrating noise. They don't stand up to other pricier speakers but the work well for many things."

Not bad for basic surround sound
01/25/2008
By HerrHowardfrom Leesburg, VA
What's great about it: Solid construction, Decent Sound What's not so great: A little large
"I've had these speakers for a while now, but I have just now, in the past week or two, installed them as surround speakers in my home theater setup.
I am not an audiophile nor will I try to tell you they make the heavens sing in sweet, dulcet tones, however I will say they are a perfect compliment to my admittedly imperfect surround sound setup. They have just the right amount of kick to them to make all of my movies sound good to me, and that's what's important after all :)
They are a little large, however I was able to mount them easily using brackets purchased from another retailer. All in all, great for their intended use and a bargain to boot!"

Great Speakers for the Price

What's great about it: Crisp Sound at an Awesome Price! Solidly Built What's not so great: None
"Bought these to add to my Insignia Collection (200W Reciever) and was not Disappointed at All! Got them for the outside especially since I have a Pool and the kids splashes water all over the place. But I don't have these no way near the Pool or anything like that but water seems to be splashing or dripping all over my backyard. I'm into Rock Music and love the High's but with my daughters liking the Bass type Music, it's does a great job at that, too. I probably buy another pair of these and the other Insignia Outdoor Speakers Products for sure. These feels like it's well built and pretty Solid. I've read that it's made by the same company of another expensive brand. Bought these especially for our iPods for our backyard parties BUT! my Receiver doesn't have a dedicated iPod/mp3 Input but that's doesn't matter because I have the Dynex iPod Docking Station w/Remote that comes with A/V Cables (a MUST have!)."

Good Sound for a Cheap Speaker
11/28/2007
By MyKidsDadfrom West Virginia
What's great about it: Decent Bass, Clarity in all range frequencies What's not so great: Mounting brackets allow too much swivel - no biggie!
"I recently bought these speakers for my travel triler (RV). I plan to use them to listen to music while camping. I am a music teacher so I am kinda picky about the quality of sound. These speakers are small, and fit nicely under the unit out of sight. They have an attractive design, and look like quality. The mounting brakcets are good quality, but they only mount of each side using a single screw. I am only concerned that while bumping down the highway they could tilt to a face down position as I had to mount them horizontally -- I am sure that I can glue, or attach another small screw to keep this from happening. This is really not a problem of the speaker as I am using it in a sort of unorthodox way. They have a really decent clear sound and the bass response is decent for a speaker this size, I was expecting less than I got. Available in store as well, for the same price for those like me who can't wait for the mail :)"

Inpressive for Generic Speakers
08/17/2007
By PhillyPhanfrom new jersey
"I didnt expect much after purchasing these for my outside deck. They were only twenty five bucks and of course they are a no name brand that is only made for best buy stores. I was amazed at the sound that these reproduced on my deck. Bass isnt that bad, its not going to pound in the ground, but a nice response with rock and jazz that is coming from a 4inch woofer (and I have my bass set at zero). Highs are nice and crisp without having a tin can effect that I expected them to sound like. DO NOTE that I havent driving them very loud since I live in an apartment, so I cant tell the quality of them as they reach very high volumes. A great value that proves you dont have to spend hundreds to get decent sound, plus do you really want to spend all that considering they are going to be outside in the elements. Regardless if they are weather proofed, I would let 200 or 300dollar speakers sit in the rain."
