What's great about it: Low Price
What's not so great: Size
"I bought these to complete my 7.1 surround sound system, I really can't tell much difference between 5.1 and 7.1 speakers. I was hoping to get two more satellite speakers, but couldn't find any, so I settled for these. They work, no regrets."

Great Speaker for the Price

What's great about it: Good sound for the price
What's not so great: Nothing yet.
"I have purchased two pairs of these speakers now, and they both work fine. Both are installed outdoors. The sound quality is fine, especially for the price. We have a big yard, and I am able to turn them up loud enough to hear, and I haven't noticed any appreciable distortion. Sure, they're not equivalent to Klipsch or Bose, but for $33 they're great little speakers. Easy to install. I'll be purchasing a 3rd pair for the garage."

What's great about it: They are small, and do what I want them to do
What's not so great: color options would be nice, but that's a minor issue
"I am very happy with the sound and most especially the inexpensive price of these speakers. They are being used in a small room, and I haven't tested their 'full power'... but for what I am using them for they are perfect for my needs."

Great sound, Awesome Price

What's great about it: Sounds great, easy to install
What's not so great: Forget the speaker wire that comes with them; maybe a way to protect the wires from the elements?
"For the price, these can't be beat. They fill my backyard with great sound. They were easy to mount, although I'm concerned about moisture getting near the speaker wires. It would be a great upgrade to have some sort of cover over the terminals. Forget the wire that comes with these, they are trash. I mounted these outside on our covered porch, sound great throughout the covered and brick porches or if you are standing in the yard. I used some heavy duty speaker wire since it will be subject to snow, rain, and sun."

What's great about it: great sound and super low price
What's not so great: nothing
"I have my primary home theater set up and I wanted to add additional speakers for music throughout the house and outside and I bought these for the kitchen and deck and couldn't be happier. They sound great, they have a nice full sound for a smaller speaker and make the whole music experience so worth while. The price though is what I can't get over. I would say they are worth more. I do admit to reading the reviews before buying though so I'm not surprised entirely... I knew they had a great rating."

Great inexpensive outdoor speaker

What's great about it: Price, size, mount, sound
What's not so great: nothing so far
"I bought a pair of these last year for my cottage we purchased. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something that was going to sit outside all year round. I also didn't want the hassle of bringing in speakers every time we left the cottage. I put these on the deck and hooked it up to an old Onkyo reciever. That one got hit by lightning but speakers survived. The speakers sat out all winter long and still sound great. They are loud enough to hear several hundred feet away.
They could have a little more bass but for the price I wasn't expecting speakers that would rock the neighborhood. I paid more for some KLH speakers that I have on the deck at home and would go with the insignias again in a heartbeat. I was thinking of buying another pair for surround sound speakers at the cottage."

Great Speakers

What's great about it: Great sound for an inexpensive patio speaker
"I purchased a pair of Insignia patio speakers (for $24.99) about 3 weeks ago, for installation in our 3-season room. The space is 12'x12' with 9' flat ceilings, so obviously we didn't need much power. The speakers were each mounted 1' below the ceiling and 1' away from the wall, giving us about 10' of seperation. The speakers are set up as the "B" speakers on my Sony STR-DE135 tuner/amp. (The "A" speakers play in the bonus room in the house.)
To cut to the chase....the speakers are outstanding. The fidelity is excellent, and the placement near the ceiling and wall helps to enhance the bass response. Needless to say, I keep the volume low, given the size of the room....yet the sound is superb.
I could even envision using these things as the main speakers for your stereo...just add a decent powered subwoofer (for about $150) and you can have awesome sound for less than $200."

What's great about it: Price and Versatility
What's not so great: Lack of power and bass
"I'm using these speakers on my patio. They sound pretty good. A little more bass and power would be nice. You get what you pay for though. They are very clear and crisp. I could see these being used in a surround sound setup, probably the back speakers. They look like they can handle the elements pretty well."

What's great about it: Sounds perfect for any purpose
What's not so great: Haven't found any yet.
"Bought the pair to use as surround speakers in addition to my already existing floor standing speakers and sub. It's amazing how they pick up even the drop of a pin with clarity. No distortion even with loud volumes from a 600W amp. I'm definitely going to get another pair to replace my center channel and surround back. Great product. Make sure that your unit produces 8 ohm impedance and everything will be great."

What's great about it: sound, size, wall mount option
What's not so great: none really
"these are great speakers. the sound quality that i get out of them is surprising given the size. one pair has been able to provide good sound with little noticeable distortion, even at higher volume levels. my only issue may be that the wires feel a little cheap, and aren't very long. other than that, these speakers are a great buy."

What's great about it: Loud for a small speaker.
What's not so great: Bass frequency is to high.
"I bought these set of speakers to add on to my sound system. Now I have these + 80W Speakers + a 500W Sub. I mainly set the settings so that they produce more vocals and high frequency sounds. Doing this makes a huge add on to my sound."

What a BANG for the buck

What's great about it: Very small, very inexpensive, great sound
What's not so great: None found
"I finally unpacked these (bought them last year), to put with my new Insignia plasma TV. Driven by a small receiver, with the input from my TV, these sound better, in many regards, than the built-in Bose system on my other TV! Until I actually listened to them, I expected a minimal improvement over the TV speakers...Boy oh Boy was I amazed. The bass response is the best I've ever heard on such tiny speakers. The midrange & highs are crystal clear, and the soundstage is impressive."

What's great about it: Works on movies and music, Great for guitar amps, Easy set up
What's not so great: Clarity, Lacks bass sub capacity
"I was looking to set up a home theater for a low price and went with Insignias. They worked well through 10 or 15 feet of speaker wire, (no lag). The only problem was when turned up, they would rattle and give a vibrating noise. They don't stand up to other pricier speakers but the work well for many things."
