Great or IS IT?06/17/2008

What's great about it: WHEN it shaves it's a close shave What's not so great: shaving is absolutely uneven
"After reading all the glorious reviews about this shaver I though heck, the 100$ are probably worth it and purchased it thinking I was getting one of the best shavers out there. The wet/dry shaving is neat and that's about all the good things I can say about it. The self cleaning with cartridges costs a lot of money to maintain but I guess you can clean it yourself if you don't want to purchase the cartridges from panasonic. About the way it shaves, there are parts of my face that feel as soft as a baby's cheek, but then there are other parts where I almost cut my skin from rubbing the shaver over and over and over and over... and it just left this huge spots of un-shaved hair. Bottom line, i guess if you have very little facial hair then it might work, but otherwise it'll give you a very un-professional look with little islands of hair all over your face, so before you rush in to buy it after reading all the great reviews check out the reviews on some other products (my 5-year old Norelco shaves closer than this new "linear" shaver)"

Best Purchase Ever and Ever05/31/2008

What's great about it: WET/DRY, FAST CHARGING, CLOSE SHAVE. What's not so great: LONG CLEANING CYCLE.
"After reading all the good reviews, I could not wait to purchase this item. Once I received my shaver I was immediated impressed by the sleek look and than I was impress by the quick charge (it only takes an hour to fully charge). And then the ultimate test; how good does it shaves... Close, very close, this must be the best electic shaver on the market!!! And then again, How could it not be, It's a panasonic!!!"

What's great about it: it gave me the closest shave from an electronic shaver ive ever had, it didnt irritate my skin What's not so great: non so far
"very nice shaver, its the most expensive one ive ever purchased, and i can truly say, you've never shaved untill you've used one of these shavers. they say the the detergent for the cleaner only lasts a month, but i think it can last longer. replacement detergent is cheap. ($15 for 3 containers from manufacturer)

What's great about it: Wet/Dry...can use in the shower instead of a razor. Battery life is longer than expected. Easy to clean. What's not so great: If you drop it, chances are it will break.
"This is a great product that does the job in the shower as well as out of the shower. Battery life is very good and its easy to clean. I dropped the razor off my shelf once and it wasnt in warranty anymore because it had been about 14 months but for the price and the quality of the shaver I purchased the exact same one."

What's great about it: Smooth shave What's not so great: Noisy
"I just bought this 1 week ago. So far I am very pleased with it. It is a bit noisy, but considering it doesn't take to long to shave with this, the noise isn't really an issue. I only used the self cleaining function one time, but I was very impressed. I also only used the shaver dry, not wet in the shower. A little expensive, but all and all I believe you get what you pay for."

"I recently got rid of a Norelco cool skin shaver that was a total disaster (please see my review). I use this shaver with gel and it glides over my tough beard shaving me as close as a blade in half the time and with no nicks or burns. I have used all makes, including Grundig, and have never gotten as close a shave or as comfortable as one. I don't know why Panasonic does not do more advertising of its' shavers as they are, in my opinion, in a class by themselves. Plus the construction is top quality, especially when compared to the new line of junk Norelco is making. Please do yourself a favor and buy a Panasonic Linear Motor shaver. These are their better shavers with 13000 rpm motors. You will be a happy camper!"

"This has to be the best electric shaver I have ever used. I almost purchased a Braun but I opted to get the Panasonic and I am very happy with my Vortex. I have used the Braun shaver but it doesn't compare to this. I have had mine for about 2 months now and my cleaning cartridge is still going. The battery lasts well over a week. I haven't used it in the shower but the dry shaving is GREAT. My wife says it works better than an actual razor."

The best shaver I've experienced11/09/2007

What's great about it: Closeness, durability, shower shaving, battery life, cleaning system, ergonomics What's not so great: cost, but, you get what you pay for.
"Product has performed without error since purchase. It is very durable, as I've dropped it on the ceramic floor and shower floor a couple fo times and nary a scratch. On average I can use it for a full week before needing recharge. This is great when going on short trips out of town. For longer trips I can take just the cord and plug it into the shaver directly, as opposed to some other manufacturers who require connection to their cleaning systems. I clean mine weekly, even though I read I should clean it more often. I personally feel satisfied so far. The initial cleaning cartridge lasted about 1.5 months, which is average. Replacement cartridges seem to be identical in longevity. Using the shaver in the shower with shaving cream is the ultimate luxury shave. Close, smooth and easy to hold onto. Even when shaving dry, it produces a shave as close to a blade as can be imagined. Nothing else comes close in terms of shave quality. I have used the best rotary shavers out there from the best names out there, but, nothing touches this Panasonic. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine."
