What's not so great: Door Hinges
"I have had this model for 2 years, and it's pretty good for a toaster oven, with one exception. The hinges on the front door have broken off 3 times. We have managed to fix it twice, but this 3rd time, it's had it. Maybe I expect to much in this throw away age, but I need one to be more durable, and last longer than a couple years."

Fantastic cheese toast

What's great about it: Easy to make cheese toast
What's not so great: Top/back gets rather hot when on
"Bought this toaster oven on a markdown for $45.99 at my local Best Buy. We got it home, set it up, and my wife was eating cheese toast within just a few minutes. So far, it's worked great.
We haven't tried it with many other things as of yet, but I have no complaints thus far. Other reviewers complained bitterly about the "doneness" of their toast (i.e., it gets it too dark! Oh no!), which frankly, I don't understand. It's a toaster oven. Do you really think you can simply choose a "toast" setting and have it be perfect the first time? Don't you think that, maybe, the level you put the rack on might have something to do with it? That maybe a few runs of trial-and-error are in order before you can crown yourself a toast-making champion? I'm sure if you would take the time to actually WATCH the bread as it is toasted, you could take it out when it got to the point you desired.
All in all, it's a decent item for the price we paid, especially when compared to other products in the same price range."

Shiny

"Recently redid my kitchen, so I picked this up to compliment my new stainless steel appliances.
However, this unit is more of a tacky, faux chrome. I may be overreacting, but I think it clashes horribly with the other appliances. I threw out the box in post-Christmas haste, but I will definitely still try to return the unit.
I did use the Toast function, and it performed okay. The sides and top of the unit got very, very hot though-- a little bit more than my old toaster oven did. In addition, to set the light or dark toasting function, you first need to turn the timer to 20 minutes, and then turn it counter-clockwise to the desired setting. Not difficult, but definitely counter-intuitive.
Otherwise, unit operation seems pretty simple.
Also, unit came with a recipe of some kind, but it was in Spanish, and therefore completely useless.
Not impressed, but wasn't expecting to be. 3 stars."

Doozy of a toaster oven

What's great about it: Cooks well
What's not so great: Died after a year. Terrible at toast, unncessarily complicated user interface
"The "oven" part is fine. The "toaster" is as terrible as the other reviews have pointed out - hard to control, takes a long time or simply burns everything. Unncessarily complicated set of dials for the toaster function. Plus after a year, the whole thing stopped working, no warning. Not buying one of these again."

What's great about it: Bakes really well. Heats up fast. Don't have to heat up the kitchen in the summer.
"This is the second Oster toaster oven that we've owned. The first one lasted for more than 3 yrs. We decided to replace it after sssomebody sprung the door, (but the oven still worked fine). I just felt like it was better to get a new one. I bought a Black&Decker ,which was lousy. I had enough of it and decided to look for an Oster on sale. This new one is even better than my first Oster. I can bake a 12" pizza in it. We mosty use our toaster oven to bake and broil food, we use a toaster to make toast. This oven is great for the price."

What's great about it: Looks Nice
What's not so great: Everything else
"We have had this oven for about 3 months now and regretted the purchase every single time we try to make toast. Such a simple thing, just a piece of toast that isn't burnt in some spots and not even toasted in others. We have only used the oven feature a few times and it seems to work okay, just okay nothing special or really any better about it than the old 30 dollar toaster oven we previously had. If we had more kitchen space I would more than likely have both a toaster and a toaster oven but that isn't really an option. To even toast a piece of bread you are supposed to turn the knob past 20 minutes then back to one of the "toast indicators" which are fairly useless. It seems your toast will be however dark IT decides your toast will be."

Bakes well, not useful as toaster

What's great about it: Bakes well, although not evenly all the time
What's not so great: Toaster function takes a long time, cord too short
"This machine replaces my regular oven which doesn't cook well at all. It is good to bake in and fit a pies or pizza pie in. Everything I've baked has come out good, although cookies didn't bake evenly - some were darker on pan than others. Toasting function does toast but it takes a while and doesn't really get hot as much as hard like toast. A regular toaster is better. Timer is good and window is nice to see food cooking. Crumb tray is really easy to pull out and clean, but if large chunks fall down, they don't slide out with tray so you have to remove shelf and reach in to retrieve, after cooled. Great oven for the price. I've had it for 2 months and have baked biscuits, brownies, pie, pizza, appetizers, and chicken. All turned out good.
Cord is really short, about 12 inches or so, and if you have an older kitchen like I do with only one outlet on each wall and high up too, it's hard to plug it in. I had to rearrange the kitchen to make sure the toaster oven cord could reach the outlet. It gets really hot too which makes it a problem putting things around it that also need to be plugged in too.
Also, it's somewhat hard to read the button settings for baking and I wish the timer button could be better - hard to tell if its on 11 minutes or 14.
In the end, it's a nice baking oven for the price."

Small Oven! Big Value!

What's great about it: Cook Time, Design!
What's not so great: None Yet!
"I love this oven everytime I make something or re-heat food it always taste amazing. Also since it cooks everything so fast I feel its better than a microwave and a full size (only when you compare the cost of electricty and your cooking for 2 people). At the end of the day its a good oven that if you keep it clean it will go along way aside from other cheap little ovens that take forever to warm up."

What's great about it: cooks fast; food tastes like it was cooked in full sized oven
What's not so great: Stopped working in less than a year from purchase date
"This oven --when it worked--was great for heating and cooking small items like frozen dinners. Terrible for toasting bread, bagels, etc. The only advantage I found was that it baked faster that a toaster oven. I will buy another convection oven to replace this one--but not an Oster."

What's great about it: Large size
What's not so great: Poorly built door hinge system
"This is a good oven except that the door assembly failed after about 2 years. We worked on it and managed to get another 6 or 7 months out of it. It is not sturdy at all. Othewise the oven is in good shape. We will not buy another Oster toaster oven."

"Pros: Oven performs very well. Easy bottom slide out tray makes cleaning simple. Holds 12" pizza completely and cooks very even. Price is very good compared to other with comparable capabilities. Cons: Outer case and door get hot to the touch."
