What's great about it: Great price and ease of use.
What's not so great: None.
This product has been an excellent addition to our kitchen. It really functions well with whatever we decide to cook on it. The instrctions for use are simple and when the temperature settings from the recipes are used for similar items it works well.

What's not so great: Take too long to warm up
The Cuisinart Griddler is an excellent way to cook when you are trying to eliminate excess oil, butter, and grease. It does take a minute to warm up to the desired temperature. That is the only thing that gets me down.

What's great about it: very veritile
What's not so great: build quality horrible... would have been better if used legos
What it does is great when it is working. HOWEVER, killing my 2nd one in a few months time makes it one of the worse things I wasted my money on. 1st one spring release got stuck so i could not put it back together after cleaning. This happened only after a few uses. On the 2nd one was a bit slower death. About a month the griddle switch stop working. So now i have to cook everything using the gill side which isn't so bad until now it decides to turn off whenever it feels like. So a great idea that has gone horribly wrong

What's great about it: So easy to use!
I LOVE this grill! It makes the best panini. My family now craves the grilled sandwiches I make. I have grilled veggies, fish, hamburgers and other goodies. Also love using it for pancakes. But, I will not use it for steak, too afraid. LOL
VERY easy to clean. Pops right into the dishwasher.

What's great about it: It's so easy to clean.
What's not so great: Can't think of anything.
I purchased the grill/pannini maker as a birthday gift for my daughter, however, I also purchase one for myself. I love mine and use it daily. My daughter and her husband use theirs almost daily. It's easy to use and easy to clean. Grill burgers make pancakes or create a pannini, it does it all.

What's great about it: Great for panini
What's not so great: cooks very well, but splatters grease from hamburger, wouldn't even think about bacon
Absolutely great for panini, and am thinking it would do well on pancakes and french toast, although I haven't tried it yet,
Clean up is very easy for these applications, not so easy on hamburgers because grease splatters outside the grill. I haven't tried it, but am thinking bacon might be a disaster, because of splatter. Removable grill plates a real plus.
Can't comment on durability, as I haven't had it very long. We use it for panini about twice a week and really enjoy the endless variety

What's great about it: Nothing. I should have just burned the $140.00 I spent on this and the fire from the money burning would cook better.
What's not so great: All the hype and nothing. It does not clean easy. It does not cook equally. Grease catcher is junk.
I don't know where to start. Maybe with the cheap way the temp. controls are designed. Or maybe with how shallow the trays are. Would it have cost them that much more to make the trays an 1/8 of an inch deeper (on both sides) each so the grease wasn't going everywhere?
And don't get me started on how cheaply and useless the grease catcher is designed. First thing you should do is by a large sheet pan to put under the grill before you even turn it on. What a mess!!!
Dishwasher safe??? Easy Cleaning??? Yeah, if the paper thin coating they put on these trays wouldn't scratch off so easily. I think my finger nail scratch the coating off. I used all plastic cookwear and it already started to come off.
Bottom line is that if I had to do it all over again I would never have bought this grill. Not that there are any others that are any better.
Let me just say this to the powers to be. You could have spent an extra 20 or 30 dollars to manufacture this grill without cutting all the corners and made it a great product. And I think people would sooner pay a 160 or 170 dollars and have a grill that is worth the money than to spend 140 dollars and have a cheaply made piece of junk.
At least I'd sooner pay the extra few dollars and have something I can use instead of having to return it because it is junk.
Save your money and wait until they do it right instead of buying something you'll end up returning or regretting that you spent 140 dollars today, and will end up spending another 140 in less than a year to replace it because your 30 days to return it ended.

What's great about it: Removable plates, grill AND griddle, flip-open for dual-cooking
What's not so great: Grill plate is a bit shallow, top plate drips off back when opened, a slightly cooler in center.
This is a great unit. Griddle mode lets you choose the temperature, while Grill/Panini has traditional Low/Medium/High temperature setting.
It's great for meats and the floating design lets it grill/press items of varying thickness.
It heats up very quickly - I started grilling a sausage and bacon within 10 minutes (after washing it, of course).
The drip cups are pretty good capacity. I grilled 1.5 lbs of bacon and filled most of the two included drip cups.
Clean-up was quite easy because of the removable plates. I hand-wash mine, but they're also dishwasher safe. Just be sure they're not scratching/rubbing against anything when washing or drying so the non-stick coating is safe. I plan to get a pair of bags or laptop sleeves to keep the other set of plates safe in when not in use.
Just three things to watch out for:
1. The grill plates are a bit shallow. If you're cooking something that has particles that come off (like peppered bacon, for example), you should monitor the drip spout so it doesn't get clogged and bathe the food in its oil/fat or overflow.
2. Like one of the other reviews mentioned, when cooking oily/fatty foods some oil collects on the top plate and will drip off the back of the unit when you open the cover. I had the same problem with my Foreman grill, but in its design the oil dripped onto the back of the bottom plate. On the Griddler, because the top plate floats, the oil actually drips off behind the unit.
Easy solution though - I rolled up a paper towel loosely and stuck it in the cord holder at the back - that caught the extra drips. Maybe Cuisinart will include an "open drip" tray to put there in a future model.
3. Perhaps it was just the thickness of my bacon, but I did notice that the center of the grill plates didn't cook quite as much as the outer sections. We'll see if it evens out as I use it more.

What's great about it: Speed that it cooks, interchangable plates
What's not so great: non-stick surface peels quite quickly and grease drips off top plate when open onto counter
This is a great indoor grill. Matter of fact I hardly ever use my outdoor grill any more. I love the speed that it cooks burgers, brats, pork chops and steaks. I even grill yellow fin tuna steaks on it and they turn out great.
My only major beef with this unit is when your cooking something that is pretty greasy it splatters out the sides and front/back and when you lift the cover to the full upright position the grease on the top plate will drip onto the outside back of the grill and onto the counter top. This then makes the rubber feet on the bottom slippery and could be a hazard. One other thing I would like to see Cuisinart do is increase the size. I would be willing to pay more for a larger one.

What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: I did break off the cord holder :(
This is by far the best small appliance that I own, and I own a lot!!! I use this four or five times a week. It is really great for making eggs and bacon (use the panini plate for extra lean bacon). Always put the eggs on the bottom part as it tends to have less of a slope to it. Clean up is amazing I used to have a George Forman grill that you could not disconnect the plates and I always wondered if it was really clean enough. With this you just pop the plates off and put them in the dishwasher.

I Love, Love, Love this Grill/Griddle. It heats up fast. The griddle makes the best grilled cheese, pancakes, and sandwiches (painni). Great for cooking Steak indoors. Then it all comes apart and goes in the dishwasher. You can't ask for much more!

I was hesitant to buy this because of the price. However, when compared to other counter-grills, this seemed to be the best because of the price and changeable plates. The day after I bought it, we cooked breakfast on it and made panini sandwiches. I would definitely recommend buying this product.

What's great about it: Versatile
What's not so great: Clean up is not as easy as you think
Had to return the first one, DOA out of the box. The second one was a display unit and works fine, but I bought the service plan just in case.
This replaced my George Foreman when the non-stick surface started to peel. The Griddler is more versatile and works like a charm. Clean up is easier than the George Foreman b/c of the removal plates, but still requires some effort and don't know how long the non-stick surface will last.

What's great about it: Very versatile
What's not so great: Clean up might require a little more effort
This grill is good for a lot of different items. Works well for sandwiches, steaks, chicken, fish, vegetables, and just about anything you wish to grill. However, if you do grill marinated meats with sugar, it can be a bit difficult to clean since you need to soak it overnight and use a little extra elbow grease to clean it. What's nice about the unit is that the plates are removable. Otherwise, the grill itself is a wonderful appliance to have especially if you are unable to cook outside with a regular full size grill.
