What's great about it: Stable OS, and easy to use, plenty of available software
What's not so great: No USB sync with 64-bit Windows
Palm has elected not to produce USB sync drivers for any 64-bit Windows version -- neither XP, nor Vista. They apparently do not ever plan to offer 64-bit Windows drivers for any of their products that use the Palm OS. SInce my company just switched to 64-bit, my beloved Palm T/X has become a paper weight. It is apparently possible to sync via Bluetooth, but my compnay does not support it. Thus, this was a waste of over $300 for me. I will soon be switching to a PDA that runs Windows Mobile since Microsoft Activesync supports 64-bit WIndows versions.

What's great about it: Lots of programs, really usefull if you have a keyboard compatible with palm OS
What's not so great: The digitizer brokes with one year of constant use, poor phone technical support
I've had this PDA for a little more than 2 years and I like it, now its somewhat old and outdated compared with the newest smartphones, however, I still use it for taking notes and to remindme of the things I have to do. This machine is really great, its stable, and there are lots of programs for palm OS (especially medical programs).
The bad thing with this is the price (its expensive considering that this is a 3 year old gadget), you can expend some $50-100 more and get a really nice netbook like the Dell inspiron mini 9 or the HP mini 1000 (both available on BestBuy).
The other bad thing with this is that there is a thing called "DIGITIZER" that is used to fell what you are actually taping in the touchscreen. The digitizer broke within 11 months of use, I called palm phone support and they said that the 3 month period of technical support was over and that I had to pay them something like $30 in order to get the phone support I needed. I took it to another company that fixes this problem with the digitizers and had it repaired, however, after 13 months the screen started to malfunction once againdue to the digitizer.
Despite of what I mentioned above I still consider this a really good gadget, except that now it is outdated and that the costumer service of palm is not that good. Maybe Palm shoud upgrade its existing PDA line because there are some people that do not want to use a bulky smartphone that does the same as a PDA.

What's great about it: Good as PIM, wifi, photo viewer, shape/feel of the case
What's not so great: Palm Desktop, Bluetooth sync extremely slow, browser not work with many sites
I bought this 2 years ago, and I'm surprised to see the price hasn't dropped at all in 2 years. I used this primarily as a PIM to store my TODO list, contacts and appointments; it served well for this purpose (used many times a day every day -- indispensible), but so would a much cheaper device that has no wireless support.
I also used it to store some personal photos to show people, worked OK for that purpose although the viewer was slow and awkward. I used it for some ebooks too, and also installed TealLock to encrypt my data in case it gets lost/stolen.
Where I was hoping to put it to good use was its wifi and bluetooth support. Most of the web sites that I want to go to while traveling would not work with the built-in browser. Some web sites would partially work but be extremely hard to see. Airports and hotels that require authentication (and a fee) typically would not work with this device because the browser could not handle the web pages being sent to it, so I couldn't get past the login screen.
I was looking forward to avoiding using a cable to synchronize my PDA, and instead use Bluetooth. However, sync via Bluetooth always took at least 5 minutes (often 15) even if there has been no data changes at all. This was just unacceptable. My previous Tungsten E took about 10 seconds to synchronize the identical amount of data using the USB cable. Also, I have to plug it in anyway to charge it, and it'll charge via USB cable, so Bluetooth turned out to be worse than just using the USB cable to sync/charge.
The Palm Desktop software has had no significant enhancements since the 90's. It really looks like an app designed for Windows 3.1 or Windows 95. Syncing with it usually results in some errors about many of the TODO items not being transferred; error claims the device is full but it is lying; the sync software has a bug and there are never any updates that you can download.
A few months ago, I reverted back to my older $100 Palm Tungsten E. It has no wireless and I only use it for a PIM, and I sync in 10 seconds via USB cable. I'm more happy with that, especially considering the price difference. For web use while traveling, I recently bought a 2lb netbook (Acer Aspire One) for only $50 more than this Palm device costs, and it is working out well for that need.

What's great about it: wide screen, graffiti
What's not so great: Loses alignment, loss of grafitti functionality, bombs under certain circumstances
I've been a Palm TX owner for five years and will not purchase this product again. I must say that the first TX I owned for 4 years, with the expandable screen, was fantastic so I really looked forward to owning the updated (non-expandable version) when I spilled coffee on my old device and blew the electronics. However, the problems with my new TX started after 6 months. I work in the medical profession and loved the wide screen however my new TX (non-expandable screen) turned out to be inefficient and unreliable. Certain letters in the graffitti function would not work requiring a cumbersome workaround and the applications would bomb out during certain selections requiring me to re-boot. Since others who have purchased the TX have noted similar problems, (I thought the one I had was a lemon), I realize it's the product itself that is faulty (what a shame, I really loved my TX) and I will be looking for a new manufaturer/product to carry the software I need to manage my day to day business.

What's great about it: Big Screen, Easy to use
What's not so great: Screen went bad less than 6 months
For the 6 months I had the Palm, it helped me stay organized. The large screen was a plus. As with many reviews, after having the Palm for 6 months the screen went bad. For the money you spend on this item, it should not be going bad in less than 6 months with normal wear and tear on item.

What's great about it: Lots of great software that allows you to get/stay organized
What's not so great: Can not watch You Tube videos without a lot of additional third party software and the technical prowess to setup
This PDA has helped me organize my whole life. I now carry my list of meds, doctors, finances, contacts, email, web addresses and much more. Batty life is decent. The T/X syncs with all Microsoft products woth no problems. Highly recommended as a medium cost PDA.

What's great about it: Everything, for about 6 months...then.BAM!
What's not so great: The digital screen loses it's calibration and that's all she wrote!
Before you spend your hard earned money one this, take it from me. I bought one and LOVED it for about 6 months. The all of the sudden the screen calibration goes haywire. Trying to find a solution I came across many, many other comments regarding this. This is a VERY common problem which Palm will do nothing about. I bought a third party program that some said would fix the problem, but it did not. So now I have a $300 paper weight! Look yourself... google Palm T/X powerdigi

What's great about it: easy to use, good price (sometimes), organized menus, decent battery life, wifi
What's not so great: bad battery life when using wifi
I bought this PDA awhile back after doing much research into PDAs. This had gotten consistent good reviews and is still competitive even though it has been on the market for awhile. It was relatively easy to set up and install programs onto. It also allows for additional memory, so you can load pictures, music, ebooks, and programs onto the memory card instead. This has been out for awhile so do your research to get the best deal. This is more advanced the the Z22 especially if you're looking for WiFi.

What's great about it: Nice large screen, excellent display
What's not so great: Software/Hardware outdated
I ordered this Palm after a lot of researching. I understood that I was ordering an item that hadn't been updated in 3 years, but I was hoping it wouldn't be that big of an issue. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I hadn't 'caught' in the specs that the modem built-in was only a 'b', and the wireless router in our home is 'g', therefore they were incompatible and I would have to buy a new router to use the internet.
Another unfortunate outdate was the 'Documents to Go' software that was included was an old version that is not compatible with Office 2007 and had to be uninstalled. I would then have to purchase an updated version of this software for an additional cost.
Even after downloading the updates required for Vista and Office 07, I was still unable to get the Calendar to sync with the device. I worked for several hours on this, searching on the help forums, trying everything they told me to try, with no success.
Therefore, after several frustrating hours I returned the device to the store, disappointed. I looked forward to using the Palm, and if they ever update their devices, maybe I will consider them again in the future.

A good product. It's a pleasure to use the built in Wifi. The built-in apps are more stable and actually work. I was not impressed with the T3 and all it's stupid software glitches, some of which wiped out memory and forced me to re-install every 3rd party application too many times. I don't need or want a voice recorder and the vibrating alarms were somewhat less than helpful to me. The slower processor speed has minimal impact on the applications I use and the battery life is a 1000% improvement over the T3 (which may have lasted 3 hours with constant use). For $300, the manufacture quality is about as good as my old IIIc, which lasted a number of years. If the power button seems weak for constant use, use a program like Off-it which gives you an icon to tap and turn off the unit. I like being able to finally use a large screen without the stupid slider (a very bad idea).
One caution: because of the changes with the Palm OS 5, many old applications may not work and you will need to upgrade to those applications which state OS5 compatibility. Palm made a lot of changes to the underlying architecture, so do not expect some app you bought years ago to work. The OS does a pretty good job considering the difficulties of moving to a new processor family. I like and recommend the TX.

What's great about it: Great Screen, Very Easy to Use
What's not so great: HUGE CON - NO software for Vista 64-bit
Palm T/X appears to be a great PDA, but I wasn't informed that I wouldn't be able to properly use it with my new PC. Palm seems to be behind the times when creating new software for it's products. So if you are running Vista (stay with ANYTHING ELSE if you can) 64-bit, then you are at the moment SOL. From what I've read on the forum/message boards at palm.com, there hasn't been any talk of an upgrade for over a year now. I guess I;m going to pull one of my old PCs out of the closet and put the software on it, since it's running XP.
Other than that ginormous problem, I think it's going to be a fantastic purchase that will be utilized daily.

What's great about it: day planner PLUS alot more in a tiny package
What's not so great: Recharging it can be forgotten and then you are stuck so dont forget or have a backup plan
The best thing as a mother, I can organize everyones schedule, color code it and then print only what each family member needs to have at hand. This is great with multiple kids having many things to keep track of, not just for them but for ME!
I have had the TX for about 2 months and have just started to unleash it's awesome organization in my life. If you are afraid of tech toys, take a class, or most importantly read the manual that you must download and print. It has been a great tool for everyday life. I am a student as well, and I have 3 jobs. This is my second brain! The one that stores all the hard to remember junk. I have found such freedom for other things now.
I wish I would have invested in this technology years ago! Life is easier managed when it's organized and color coded :)

What's not so great: Poor response from Palm when asked for help.
Unable to get to hot sync except for the first time. Virtually no response from Palm when I asked for help--several times. Actually, this is my 3rd unit what with the repair shop telling me it was defective and replacing it. The hot sync cable is not stable in the socket, therefore will not sync. Almost useless because of that.
It would be nice to have written instructions too, not just on the computer

What's great about it: Big screen, easy Wifi set up, easy bluetooth set up, Easy
What's not so great: Best Buy is not the place to get the "Best Buy"
Other reviewers have stated the merits of this palm. I have been using palm since the m130 and the TX is a great product.
Don't get it from Best Buy! After shopping around online, I decided the local Best Buy was the easiest place to purchase. The sales person honored the online price (good for me) and said this was the last one in the store. The box had some dings but otherwise looked solid. When I opened the box at home, I found this was an previously purchased device! It was not even packed correctly in the box!
I really needed to get up and running and didn't want to take the time to return it if it was a working product. When I hooked it up, the device still had a background from the "pervious" owner and device name. After a hard reset, I synced my information.
Needless to say, the TX is operating flawlessly and I feel lucky that I received a working product. I feel I should have been informed that this was an "open box" buy and given the option to refuse to purchase. I consider this a bait and switch.
Moral of the story - be careful what you purchase at Best Buy. Make sure the product you receive is new and unopened.

What's great about it: Fantastic Internet w/WiFI; Great Screen; Great Software
What's not so great: None
I am a long-time Palm user. Starte out with the m100, m130, Tungsten E, and now the TX. This device is amazing. I got if for all the great and easy to use PDA functions that I am so acustomed to with my Palms as well as the many games that I have. But the TX does so much more.
I easily get into my wireless network for checking email and websurfing - works beautifully. I've converted some DVD movies and put them on the expansion card and can now watch full lenght movies on the Palm.
The screen is beautiful and battery life so far is superb. I'm thrilled with my purchase!
