What's great about it: More great Stargate music
What's not so great: I'd like to see more Atlantis CDs
This CD is the soundtrack to 'Rising', the pilot episode of Stargate: Atlantis.
The soundtrack starts of with one of the finest opening themes ever recorded, a fantastic piece that features an impressive orcehestra and even a chorus. A fitting anthem for a lost civilization.
The rest of the score sets the tone for the TV series with some very nice orchestral compositions. Where Stargate SG-1 based its music on Egyptian motifs, Atlantis creates its own musical environment. From excting action-driven tracks to music that has the feel of some of the great composers of the past.
This is truly one of TV's best musical scores. Highly recommended for anyone who likes great music.
