I made the mistake of buying another one of these coffee makers after the first one had problem with the on/off/brew switch. you would turn it to brew and you would expect to see the red light appear to start the coffee brewing. But the knob wore out in like just over 1 yr. And then the same thing has happened with the second one we purchased. So I suggest anyone looking for a coffee maker that actually will work for you more than 1 yr. they should stay away from this piece of garbage
What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Well 2 have broke for me over 2 years in a row
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Carbon copy almost from all the others here with the same problems...this only will last about 1 to 1-1/2 years if you are lucky. My second one just failed today with the very same problems others state here: Power goes off at different times...sometimes you get it back by unplugging..waiting replug again(like rebooting a computer ! ) . But that only worked a few times. And like the others I called Cusinart on the first failure and for the $10 they sent me another. Which is now this one that failed also..very same problems. Called them again today..and they said sorry can't help on this one. I told them I'd only had this second one now for about a year..which they verified...BUT..she informed me the Three year warranty is ONLY on the first one..which they replaced..and even though they replaced it with a complete brand new one..the 3 year warranty starts ONLY from the date of the first one I bought !!!! What a policy ! I was 2 months out of three years on the First unit..and only had the replacement 14 months . Is that crazy policy or not.
So..even though I like the idea of no carafe...I'm done with this company.
Time for a good old Mr Coffee for about the Third of the price...and they seem to last forever.
Cusinart needs to find a better 'board' in that unit..which I'll bet is what is failing . The board that tells it to power on- heat or not....or else they have a temperature sensor that is very inaccurate after time..thinking the unit is too hot..and to shut it down. Just an Idea.
Good Bye Cusinart. for me.
For those of you buying it first time....remember ..when it fails..to call them..and get your one and ONLY replacement for $10. After that..you are done.
What's great about it: NO Carafe
What's not so great: FAILS in a year or year and a half !! ( Electronics-No Power)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the second Cuisinart On-Demand unit we've had. It made great coffee and kept it nice and hot. We also liked having no carafe to break! However, as others have said, the first one quit working within one year, had to ship it back, plus pay Cuisinart $10. New one arrived, worked great for approximately one year and this morning it won't turn on - completely dead. Why are they still selling this product? I thought Cuisinart meant quality - not so. We will not buy another Cuisinart product after this experience.
What's great about it: Makes GREAT coffee, very hot, no carafe.
What's not so great: VERY short life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had two of these and now I am done with Cuisinart. They are aware of a circuit board problem and will not back up product. They replaced the first unit with out a hassle but will not replace the second unit which died quicker than the first one.
To me, in this day and age when technology abounds, products shouldn't be regarded as "disposable" when spending this kind of money, especially when the unit's main function is to heat water.
Don't sucker yourself into purchasing this unit.
What's great about it: Looks great, makes great coffee and easy to use
What's not so great: Dirties easily, plastic lid warps, messy and dies rather quickly
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to set up & use. Automatic on & off. Makes great coffee. Keeps coffee hot without burning for up to 4 hours before automatic shutoff. Unfortunately it will die suddenly within 1-2 years. I would recommend this only if you can afford to buy a new one every 1-2 years, because the taste is better than anything with a carafe. If you're on a budget, find something that either lasts more than 2 years or is less than $100.

My wife and I love the features of this coffee maker. It looks great, operates great, coffee tastes great, it's super easy to use, and it's really not that expensive... Our first one died right around it being two years old. We took a chance and contacted their customer support and they shipped us out another one - we were very pleased. ...Then two years later it died also. Now I go to find a replacement and I see that they're still selling the same exact coffee maker? Wow. With everybody reporting this same issue, you'd think that they would fix the thing with some new hardware part. Now, I can't tell you what exactly goes wrong on this thing - other than the first symptoms are the thing shutting off right after brewing is finished... and then it turns itself back on again. Soon after that symptom occurs, the thing shuts off entirely and you're lucky to see anything out of it again. Cuisinart told us that it's because we didn't CLEAN IT REGULARLY. hahahahaha Even if we didn't, no amount of cleaning is going to make the electronics last longer.
What's great about it: Looks great, great feature design, doesn't slide around, plunger is easy to press
What's not so great: Quit working around 2 years old. Twice.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I liked the design of this coffee pot, however; it was a bit too short to place a standard "to go" style mug underneath. The problem came after 1 1/2 years when it decided to quit on me, looks like this is a common problem. I'd avoid this one.
Recently purchased a Mr. Coffee to replace it (9175082) and have been generally happy with it, although there are some negative reviews for that one as well.
What's great about it: Cool Design
What's not so great: Bad Quality Control in Manufacturing

Stay away from this coffee pot!! This is the third one I have had and this one just stopped working. It last a few months and then it will not turn on. Customer service at Cuisinart are very rude and have no supposed record of any other complaints. Take a look on the internet there are plenty of people complaining about the same thing.
I will never buy another Cuisinart item again!!

I purchased this coffee maker in January and it stopped working in June. The problem is electrical. When it was working, the coffee was excellent. However, there was a constant puddle of water underneath it which required moving the filled coffee maker after brewing to dry the counter. Putting water in required a good aim with the pitcher because the reservoir has a small opening - not always easy first thing in the morning.
This coffeemaker has a 3 yr warranty. Upon contacting customer service, I was told the Cuisinart does not repair coffeemakers. But, because I live in California, I could take it back to any retailer that sells Cuisinart for a refund.
What's great about it: Very good coffee, looks great, nice concept
What's not so great: Died after 6 months, filling with water a little challenging and it leaks
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For our wedding, we were given four small appliances by Cuisinart. Two of them have broken in less than two years (a wine cellar and now this coffee pot) and one just doesn't work very well (a blender). This coffee pot is a neat idea and looks great on the counter. When we first had it, we loved it. Coffee tasted great, was kept hot but not burned, and the pour-by-cup feature was a neat gimmick. Within a year, the quality of the coffee had started to go downhill and the coffee wasn't kept as hot -- frequently having to be put in the microwave if it was poured more than 45 minutes after brewing. A month ago, it started to need to be plugged into different outlets before it would work and now it's completely dead. Add to this a wine cellar that stopped working within 6 months and a blender that creates a bubble at the bottom so nothing gets blended, and we will never buy another Cuisinart product again.
What's great about it: Cup by cup pouring
What's not so great: Short life span

I got this coffee pot from my sister-in-law cause she got a new Kruig.
When I brought it home and cleaned it up, wanted to test it I was having problems with the power first it was on than off, well I thought it was my wall plug. Now after reading the reviews I know I am not going bonkers. I am in the market for a new coffee pot so this was a nice hand me down, but now it has done this several times so now I realize this is the product not me. So I guess I will shop for my new pot. I did not find the filling a problem cause I have always filled my coffee pots by moving them and using my sink sprayer. So thanks to all for the heads up on this brand, sticking to my stand buyes Krups or Braun they last many years and make great coffee .
What's great about it: Single Cup Dispensing
What's not so great: Power just goes out

I wish I had read these reviews before I bought this machine. I was drawn to its commodity and the style of being modern, sleek, and quite appealing to say the least. It started up like a pro and I thought I had bought a winner. One morning not too long ago, I got up and noticed that no coffee was in the reservoir even though it had been programmed to every morning at the same time. I turned it back on...nothing! I unplugged it thinking that a connection had just shorted...still nothing. Somehow it started working later that day out of the clear blue. I thought it was weird but I let it go. It made coffee for two weeks and then the same thing happened again. This time the same fix did not work. Save yourself the time and heartache of having to lug it back to the store and exchange it if you have the extended warranty on it. Buy yourself another machine that is less of a commodity and more of a pillar...stay with the tried-and-true...Cuisinart makes great machines, but this is not one of them! There is no need to purchase this machine unless you have a ton of money that you just love to throw away.
What's great about it: Keeps coffee hot for a great while
What's not so great: Clean up is difficult, horrible quality, too expensive for what it does!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After reading the other negative reviews I started to wonder if it is possible that the problem with this machine is the amount of time you use it? We are very big coffee drinkers. We make at least 2 full pots on a weekday and about 4 on weekend days.
Is that the coffee habits of other people who's machines broke within a year? That is the only thing I can think of as the reason some people have machines that work fine forever and the majority of us have machines, not one, but two, that break within a year.
So my advice is if you are a big coffee drinker stay away. Although the pot makes great coffee, it is not worth the aggravation of the Saturday morning when your waiting for that first cup, the kids are fighting, the dog is barking, your husband can't find his sweat pants and because your a woman your supposed to know where he left them, your mother is on the phone telling you how wonderful your sibling is in "that" voice, and when you put your cup in the coffee pot there is NOTHING. AHHH!!!
After a few of those Saturday mornings and a quick drive thru tthe Dunkin Donuts in you jammies you to will have had it. So trust me, save yourself now.
What's great about it: It makes a great cup of coffee that stays hot for a very long time, at least 4 to 5 hours. Easy to use and clean.
What's not so great: We, just like most of the other reviewers, went thru 2 in less than 2 years. I thought it was us, now I know it wasn't

We bought this coffee maker and were very pleased that it keeps the coffee very warm.
About 8 month of our purchase, the "on/off" button stopped working, so sometimes we were able to have coffee, sometimes we weren't.
We thought we did something to it, so we bought another one, after about 10 month, the new one stop brewing AGAIN.
We are NOT going back to get a third one. We gave this product two chances and both times it broke down on us.
Don't get this coffee maker if you don't want to buy another one after about one year; it breaks down easily. VERY POOR QUALITY.

I had the same problem as others. I am very disappointed. At first it was great and then it went crazy. One day it worked just fine then I went to make another pot and it didn't work. Then it was fine for a couple weeks and it did it again. And when calling the manufacturer them said I must be doing something wrong. HOW!!!!!! You fill it and turn it on.
