What's great about it: It gives a wireless signal and allows you to connect up to 4 ethernet devices
What's not so great: After a while it started freezing all the time even immediately after power cycling it
Simply a case of you get what you pay for. I looked for a cheap router, and that is exactly what I got. Worked great until it received heavy use gaming and periodic downloading. It freezes too much to be of any consistent use.

What's great about it: Easy to use interface, quick setup
What's not so great: Frequenty disconnects, lack of support
When I bought it, it worked great. Loaded with features and easy to setup. After about 6 months, it started randomly disconnecting wireless sessions. After 8 months, wired connections would disconnect. Finally, it was down to daily restarts of the router. I "fixed" the problem by flashing the firmware to Dlink 624 Rev D. Works fine now. Dlink obviously has no interest in making this router work. The hardware is fine, but the firmware is unstable.

What's great about it: AMAZING RANGE FOR A CHEAP ROUTER
What's not so great: Stops working after a year
I purchased this router in place of my old linksys router. It was easy to setup and get on my way. I have a Xbox 360 connected by wire. A Gaming Pc connected by wire. A Wii connected by Wireless along with a Laptop. At first With "Range Booster" on i could get about a block away and still be connected to my router! The range is beautiful. I have had no complaints till after a year went by. Some Where down the line this Router likes to "over heat" and short out... Which in my case being an gamer and computer programmer. I don't find that one bit entertaining! It started out, every few days it would stop working, then as time went on it became ever hour. Then it stopped connecting to the internet all together. Warranty over I tossed it in the garbage... Getting a different brand, dlink isn't the best....

What's great about it: When it worked, it WORKED well
What's not so great: Short life; Connection began to die until there was no longer a connection (Wireless or Wired)
I bought this Router when I bought my Wireless Laptop. I also had a couple of Desktops connected to it. The installation went smooth, User:Admin & Pwd:<null/blank>, used the IP Address suggested and did a manual install. This Router worked fine for the first 30-45 days. Then it began to drop most wireless connections. I became quite frustrated having to use the Router Reset button so often. Finally, I began using it via another Cat-6/RJ-45 connection thinking that I must be in a crowded wireless traffic area (duh.... I should have seen the writing on the wall then). Still, I found myself having to reset the Router over-and-over again. Slowly, but surely, even the wired connections began to stop. By the time the I had enough frustration with this Router, the Warranty had expired. I'm back to my straight wired connection (bypassing the broken Router) for my desktops, and I'm "borrowing" wireless connections from my neighbors for my laptop (2 favorites, ironically, have been been a Linksys and a D-Link Router connection). After reading reviews, I think it's more practical to stay away from both the D-Link and Linksys Routers and purchase a Belkin Muli-port for my next Router. The reviews I've read for the Belkin Routers have been more favorable (looking at the Wireless-N with 4-port switch).

What's great about it: Simple to setup, highly configurable, very dependable
What's not so great: No complaints
I've had this router for a little over a year now and I've never had an problems with it. I currently have our desktop directly connected and three wireless devices that utilize the network - a laptop, XBox 360 and a Wii. Our family uses all these systems simultaneously and never have any problems with the wireless connectivity or throughput. When I initially purchased the router and setup it was easy. I later spent time reading through the documention and learning how to increase security on the router - turning off the broadcast, reserving IP addresses, filter MAC's, etc - and it's all been pretty easy and straightfoward. LIke most these days, the administration tools are web-based and accessed through standard browsers.
I spent some time reading through some of the negative reviews and it sounds like a few people had some pretty legitimate issues with regard to connectivity - maybe there was some kind of problem between their wireless network card and the router or maybe there was some kind of configuration problem with the communication protocols - but there were several that just sounded like they were griping just to griping. Some people that write reviews are just brand-bashers. For whatever reason they dislike a particular brand of products and feel compelled to submit negative reviews about the products even when they don't really own them.
I would just suggest that if you're considering this router, I've had a great experience with it and so have many others who've written reviews so don't let a few negative reviews - some of which might not even be legitimate - steer you clear. If you do have problems, you can always return it. I know that's inconvenient but that's life some times I hope your experience is as good as mine has been.

What's great about it: Pretty easy to set up.
What's not so great: It occasionally hiccups.
I've had this router about a year now and do enjoy having a wireless capability for my laptop. I knew about the firmware update long before choosing this router and it was easy as pie to download and apply. I did have to download an update for my Toshiba Satellite from the Toshiba site so that my signal strength would display properly. Before the update my laptop would appear to only have about 1/2 strength even though I was only about 20 feet away with no walls in between. I get great strength throughout my house. Nothing is perfect in this world and for the money I won't complain when I need to reset. My smartphone gives me more problems than this router and it cost $450 more! Very good router for the money.

What's great about it: Signal is great all around the house
What's not so great: initial firmware
I have liked D-link routers. As an example my old one a dlink airplus, we had a bad storm and lightning struck close to my house fried my ethernet card on my PC. I thought my router was toast, come to find out just the number 1 port. I bought a new ethernet card for PC plugged into number 2 port.. Well I'll be.. its working. That's when I knew that D-link was for me. as for the WBR-2310 at first it was good, then it started acting up.. but when I upgraded the firmware.. it is working like a champ.. The issue I've had is with my modem not the router. Works great with the Sony PS3 and XBOX 360. Can't beat the price and function.

What's great about it: good price, easy to set up, the user interface, the detachable antenna
What's not so great: first firmware, range, setting it up to work as a second router connected to a router
I bought this product 2 years ago and i use it day by day, all day and night long. It wasn't the best router i've ever seen, but after the firmware updates it became one of the best.
It doesn't restart anymore, nor lose the signal, it has a nice user interface, it's easy to set up and install, and it has a nice design.
Also one of the great things it's that the router has a detachable antenna RP-SMA so I could change the antenna for a greater range and signal ratio.
Now, if i'd have to say something against this wireless router it would be only agains the power voltage which isn't a standard one for our country. anyway that's not a problem. The other technical problems that i had were all solved by the firmware updates.
So, i highly recommend dlink for anyone, but pay attention when a new firmware update is released, because that's for solving the problems already found.

What's great about it: Cheap
What's not so great: Absolutely does not work.
I've owned this router for over a year and finally had to replace it. The connection is constantly dropped, frequently requiring a physical reboot of the unit. I have upgraded to the latest firmware with no luck fixing the problems. It assigns incorrect IP addresses upon connection, it blocks MAC addresses that are specifically allowed, it drops connections and must be rebooted before reconnecting. There is absolutely nothing I would recommend about this router. Avoid like the plague.

What's not so great: Connection problems, Reliability
We've had this router for about 6 months and at first it seemed to work very well. That has changed dramatically in the last 3 months and the connection in our home through this router is horrible now. It's gotten to the point that we're moving on and have disconnected this router.

What's great about it: Could have had wireless printer
What's not so great: Every time I went to set up password I would always lose connection. If I could rate any lower I would give it a 0
Would not buy this brand again. Would rate it a 0. Plan to take back and get another brand. Never could stay connected. Don't recommend anyone to buy this. After I got this I read the reviews and agree with the ones having problems. I have a zoom wireless router at home and it was easy to set up. DON'T BUY!

What's great about it: Easy to Configure
What's not so great: setup conflict with 192.168.1.254 DSL Modem
My At&t dsl uses 192.168.1.254 for the modem status page. Had to reset the wireless router and configure manually. Also the time set works if you research a site on the internet. Finally a fully function 54mbps wireless router with speed boost. Took 20 minutes to configure.
Over all it's not a bad router, the setup program needs to be changed so it does not try to use 192.168.1.x range if you internet modem uses 192.168.1.x as well.

What's great about it: When it worked, it worked well
What's not so great: It did not work
Installation seemed easy and I was up and running. But the next day my laptop could not access the internet despite being connected w/full signal. I had to reset the router. I had to do this each of the 5 days I owned this router. The most frustrating part of the experience however was the D-Link customer service. The first person blamed my modem (even though the wired internet never stopped working), the second person agreed it was not my modem & advised me to unplug the router for 15mins and run the install cd again, when that eliminated my network altogether and would not let me reinstall, the third person made me reset all the settings on my laptop (which had no problems connecting anywhere else) to connect to a network I kept telling her no longer existed! I hung up, threw it back in the box w/10mins to get back to Best Buy and return this item. I made it.

What's great about it: I cannot think of any.
What's not so great: Loses signal
I brought this router shortly after buying my laptop which I use for school. I take online classes and it is very important that I have a signal as needed and this router did not seem to understand that. The real disappointment is, I read product reviews which stated the there is a constant interuption in connection and still purchased the product because of the price. I would not recommend this product to anyone and now I have to replace something that should have last for at least a year.

What's great about it: Relative easy setup, router size small
What's not so great: Occasionally have to reset router and set everything up all over again
For $40 it relatively is a good buy, but for like an extra $20 you can do a lot better. Twice a month or so the entire network crashes and I have to reset the router, therefore going through the setup process which can be very aggravating and timely. I recommend spending more and getting a good router that's more reliable.
