What's great about it: large loads, clean, quiet, saves hot water, idiot proof-easy to run
What's not so great: little item like a sock can occasionally get in gasket-not a huge deal though
"wasn't thrilled about having my old washer break down-was suggested to get front load if i had to buy another-wondered what was so great-WOW-it was 'all that'-get 2-3 times more clothes in washer-saves hot water-can actually take bathes at same time the washer is running and not run out of hot water-it is quiet-mine doesn't walk at all-and first load-i was sold-had a pair of 'work' jeans that was used only for old-they came out as clean as the rest-they became a pair to wear to school again. they smell great and much dryer at the end of the cycle than a top load. takes longer to wash-but it washes more clothes, so it is even trade and less work on me-the matching dryer dries much quicker and more efficiently than the old front load dryer. used to have piles of clothes waiting, now i go from room to room to look for clothes to wash."

"Ive had this washer just over one year and have had nothing but trouble...Whirlpool mechanic has been here 3 times this week alone and cant figure out what is wrong..will not turn, he has changed boards, door latch..so beware dont waste your money on this one!!!"

Poorly Built Machine

"I bought this machine two years ago. I have a small family of three that has put this washer though light to normal use. In two short years we have had the duet sport worked on twice and already need a new motor. Bad design allows small shavings from the belt to penetrate the motor via the belt shaft and cause the motor to wear down. If you get stuck in the same position I'm in, don't waste your time calling whirlpool customer service. Whirlpool will not take accountability for design flaws and give any sort of discount on the $300 plus repair needed."

What's great about it: Saves drying time
"Bought this washer and the first load was a full load of towels. Came out great, and when I put them in the dryer, you could tell they were drier than normal. They came out dry in 35 minutes. It normally takes 75-90 minutes to dry a full load. What a time and energy saver! My jeans and all other clothes came out clean using half the water and dried in half the time. I would highly recommend this washer!"

"Performs a great job in cleanliness of clothes. Very gentle and does not wear and tear on the clothes during any cycle. Very energy efficient by spinning the clothes almost dry which allows dryer to perform an impeccable, energy saving job. Clothes always come out clean and fresh! "Great value for this wonderful washer. Only complaint is it really moves and shakes when spinning at low speeds. At full speed it is quiet as can be.

What's not so great: small items get caught in gasket, water collects there, too
"All around great performance - clothes are clean and not stressed as much as from a top loader. the washer has so many cool features and you can really customize your wash.
I am a little confused as to why the gasket problem hasn't been resolved by whirlpool. i have talked to 2 others who have the same problem, one says after a while the washer starts to smell from the collecting water. my solution is to wipe out the gasket and leave the door open a crack between washes to air out."

"WE bought this washer on clearance so i thought there must be something wrong with the washer thats why it went on sale, but the washer worked perfect. It washes clothes really well and the spin is awesome because when its done, the clothes comes out damp and not soaking wet like other machines. therefore drying the clothes fast and using less energy. Buy the set if you can because it works better as a set"

"Purchased this machine online without actually seeing/touching it. But the price was such a great deal I just couldnt pass it up.
The delivery was outstanding and the machine is a wonder. So little water cleans the clothes so much better than our old top loader. Was a little nervous about the vibration issue mentioned but after many loads this is not an issue we are having. Just a great machine!!"

"Ive had this washer for 6 months now and have had no problems with it walking or being noisy. It is very easy to use, cleans the cloths much better then my old top loader. It does take alittle longer on the wash cycle but the cloths come out much drier so it cuts down on the dry time. Can't beat the price! I recomend the washer for sure!!"

What's not so great: Only worked for 1-1/2yrs and will cost quite a bit to repair
"Bought this machine in November of 2006. Delivery and setup went fine but that's as good as it gets. We had a front load machine before this so I was expecting the noise that the spin makes but this was louder than the less expensive machine we replaced with this machine. No matter how many times it was leveled it walked across the level cement basement floor and the machine vibrates and shakes violently. Now it is only 1-1/2 hrs old and I just made the final payment last month and we got the F01 code. We tried the unplugging to reset the unit but that did not work. The F01 code means that a central control unit has died; but it could mean that other parts are not functioning too. We didn't buy the extended warranty because we felt that the product should be okay longer than 1-1/2 years and so the manufacturer has been very unhelpful. I wouldn't recommend this machine at all!! Would give it less than one star if possible."

What's great about it: Cost and Size
What's not so great: SHAKING and NOISE
"Well I just read many of the other reviews and it seems unanimous,...the washer is a mover and shaker . My laundry room is on the second floor and this washer would vibrate the whole house (and its a big home). The only reason it didn't walk across the floor is because its installed in a secondary emergency drain/basin. I had delivery come back out and re-level and it did no good. I actually thought the secondary basin was the cause of the severe vibration and shaking during spin cycle. Now I see its a common problem with this particular machine.
I can see this fits the cliche "you get what you pay for!"
Rest assure, Best Buy took it back and sold me on the LG Tromm but I don't have them yet :("
