What's great about it: Good looking, easy to use
What's not so great: a little difficult to setup
"As much as I love this product I am more impressed with the Logitech support. I called in and they were able to correct some issues I was having in less than ten minutes with no wait time. They uploaded the corrections and all I had to do was sync the remote. Alll in all this is a great device, especially if you don't need anything fancy. It is wasy to use but can be a little tricky to setup."

Best Remote I've ever owned

What's great about it: Easy to use (anyone who comes to my house can use it without asking what to do)
What's not so great: Nothing really, once in a blue moon it may need to have the batteries pulled if it locks up
"Honestly the best universal remove I've had. I was truly astonished I no longer had to hit a device input to control different devices. It works intuitively to do what you want it to do. Its all thanks to the programming you go through on your computer. So for instance if I'm watching TV for myself channel up/down will change the channels on the cable box, volume up/down changes the volume on the receiver. Menu is for the box, aspect ratio on the TV ect ect. Its the little things you never realized you shouldn't have to do until you have this remote. no more having to remember to hit the "receiver" button just to change the volume. This remote takes the thinking and "working" out of watching yoursetup and lets you do what you should be doing in the first place and watching your programs."

What's not so great: GUI (software on comp) could be confusing to average users. #'s are kind of small
"I will keep this one short and sweet. I had 6-7 remotes, picked this up for $100 from BestBuy, and am VERY happy. It took a little while to get adjusted to, but definitely worth the money. 1 button turns on everything. Buy this if you need a fairly inexpensive remote."

What's not so great: Steep learning curve
"This is a great remote but not for beginners. I'm a tech freak and it still took me 3 months to fully realize all it can do. This remote requires you to pay extremely close attention to the directions and the various settings available when you program it. Take your time and you'll be rewarded. Rush through the setup and you'll be extremely frustrated as I was at first."

"thought this would be a better replacement for my present all-in-one remote but found it awkward to use. Although it is easy to program, I found it difficult to program indvidual buttons to specific needs...could have been just me. I returned it only because it wasn't an improvement over what I had. I may try a different model to see if that works better. I like the one-button features, such as "play a dvd"...on my present remote I must program several steps in order to get this function to work. For me it's not a formidable task, but for some it might be so the Harmony remote would be a better choice."

Great Remote at a Great Price

What's great about it: Simple to use, simple to set-up, does everything
What's not so great: Tiny number buttons, volume control
"This remote is well worth it. I've got a TV, cable box, XBox 360, and DVD/surround sound system in my home theater and this remote controls them all with the push of one button.
It only took about a half hour to install the software and find my devices/set up my preferences and then another 15 minutes or so to tweak things but now this remote is perfectly in tune with how I watch TV, DVDs or play XBox. With one button I can turn on everything I need and have it automatically go to the correct input or switch seamlessly from watching a DVD to watching TV.
The only weird thing I've run into so far is the volume control. For whatever reason, one push of the volume buttons increases or decreases it by 3 ticks instead of 1. I'm still working on finding a way around that. But its minor compared to the benefits that the remote brings overall."

What's great about it: Infinately customizable, easy to program and use, smart remote
What's not so great: small buttons, screen is hard to read
"Harmony remotes are extremely easy to use for everyday use. All you need to do is hit one button (Watch TV, Watch Movie...) and the remote is very smart and knows what devices need to be on/off/inputs for the different things you are doing with your system. I was able to put every costom button I needed on the screen. I even programed a 5 step sequence for turning on CC. This was a great first universal remote for my system, but I think I am ready to upgrade to the Harmony One because it has a color screen and bigger buttons."

What's great about it: stylish
What's not so great: small buttons, wierd motion sensor
"This is overall a great remote. It does the job, and it does it well. However there are a few drawbacks. The motion sensor doesn't make sense. The remote turns off after 2 hours, and if you walk by it after that, it turn on. I'd rather see it turn on whenever you pick it up, that way you wouldn't have to search for the glow button in the dark. It doesn't support all devices. The database id consumer driven, so if you add a learning command that isn't yet in the database, it will be available for others to use. It didn't have a menu button in the database for my mvr800 mitsubishi reciever. I don't have the remote and am out of luck tyring to get into the menu of the reciever to change settings and stuff. The buttons are kinda small and squashed together. But overall, this remote does the job it's supposed to. I like to show it off to people who come over. I recommend it to everyone if they want a great remote for a home theater that deserves it."

"I like this remote alot. It has eliminated three seperate remotes, and can change devices very simply. It can be programed to do virtually any function of the origional remote that may not be included in the initial setup. Setup is relatively easy even for someone who is not extremely computer savy. The only complaints I have are because I previously purchased the model 880, which has larger, easier to use buttons and a tilt function for the backlite"

"This remote is the best. I have had hassels with other "universal" remotes in the past but this one in the best. It worked correctly with all my equipment (a Denon reciever, Sony LCD TV, XBox 360, Comcast [yuk] HD Cable box, as well as a few other TVs around the house) without messing around with it.
The initial setup can take a bit of time to get working correctly but once you have it set up, there shouldn't be any problems.
Activities is wonderful. One click and all you components are on fora particular activity and everything can be controlled without switching devices."

"This product really does live up to it's promo. Once set up with your computer and all your components, it makes any activity you want to do a simple "one touch!" The set-up instructions were easy to follow. Even though we have multiple brands and some components are years old, everything responds to this remote. My husband has been whining for years that there needs to be a remote to control everything and you should be able to touch one button and make it do exactly what you want to do. This remote is his answer. Once set up, any technically challenged person can operate their video/audio equipment at the touch of a button."

Software does have some complexity (which order to turn devices on, etc.) that isn't quite as easy to figure out, but it appears everything is there once you find it. What's great about it: Ease in setting up, looks, ease of use
What's not so great: Not getting it sooner
"This is absolutely THE best piece of technology ever. The set up is VERY EASY. Software works EXCELLENT with a Mac (Mac OS 10.4.11). I am still in disbelief. The hardest thing you have to do is open the package. I had absolutely no problem setting the remote up while connected to my computer. Once disconnected, I tried it and the remote assistant corrected one minor issue with just the touch of a button. It happened so quickly I didn't know the correction had already resolved itself. If everything could be this easy, life would totally be stress free!!!!! Thank you and keep up the great work Logitech. The folks who designed this remote and it's software need to receive LARGE bonuses and even LARGER raises!!!"

"This remote is awsome. I used it to replace 5 remotes; my tv, dvd player, a/v receiver, and xbox360. With one button i can have everything start up and ready to watch a dvd; or with one button i can have everything start up and ready to watch tv. The activity function is incredibly smart and intuitive. There is nothing the remote cannot be programmed to do. And the software on the computer is easy to use and great."

"This remote does everything I wanted it to. TV, DVD player, dvd recorder, cable box, media player. It can control every function of a device just like the origional device remote. The main thing I wanted it to control was the speakers that are built into my house. It controls them too!!!! The set up took about 45 minutes, but well worth the wait. I wish it was alittle cheaper but compared to some it is a real bargain."

"I bought this remote control because my son got one and raved about it. He said it was easy to set up and even easier to use. Since we were juggling six remotes, I thought this one sounded wonderful. The set up was easy, but (due to OUR wiring of our components) we had some initial problems getting the Harmony to work properly. We contacted the customer support line and they were fantastic. They talked us through everything and stayed on the line until everything was working correctly. We now have the other six remotes put away and only need the Harmony to control everything. The best feature is the 'Help' button on the remote. It asks a series of questions if a component is not set correctly, followed by "Did that work?" I absolutely love the ease of using the Harmony and highly recommend it to all."
