It's RIDICULOUS 07/20/2008

Pros: works great, it's a convenience feature
Cons: end chime is not loud enough

"It's absolutely ridiculous that I like this thing so much! I only have a compatible washing machine (got it yesterday) and wanted to give this a try. So I went out today and got it with my rewards coupons.
It paired up perfectly on the first try and works anywhere in the house. My laundry room is in the basement of a 3 floor townhouse so this is a real convenience to be able to monitor the laundry on the 2nd floor. It shows exactly what cylce (wash/rinse/spin) the machine is in and how long until the whole load is done. I have the same complaint (really a preference) another reviewer has which is that the end chime is not very loud. You would definitely need to be in the same room as the monitor to hear it. It would have been better to have a selectable volume but this doesn't alter my overall excellent opinion of the gadget.

I'm not sure if you can pair multiple monitors with it so I could have one on each floor but that would be ultimate convenience.

"Attractive, step saver lets you know how long your wash or dryer cycle is going to take and plays a little tune to tell you when the load is complete. All without ever leaving your seat in front of the TV or the computer. Don't know how I ever did without this!!!"

Very Cool Feature!! 08/15/2007

"This is a neat, but pricey, option available on certain LG washers and dryers. It broadcasts the displays from these machines to let you know when your washer and dryer loads are done. It's pretty cool once you get it going.
The good news: Very neat and useful option for those that don't like their clothes sitting in the washer for hours because you never saw when it was done. I live in a house where the laundry room is nowhere near anything else. I placed this the remote in the master bedroom 2 floors up and I can follow the progress of the laundry without having to go up and down the stairs a million times.
The bad news: At $100 it's pretty expensive for what this is (my opinion). I think it's worth it and would do it again, but I still think it's a bit much. Also, it did not work right out of the box. I would recommend following the directions in the short manual for erasing the codes in the washer and dryer and then re-pairing the remote with the appliances. It works like the pairing of a bluetooth phone. You have to make sure it does this or it may not work. Some people will have great luck out of the box, I didn't. Once I set it up and re-paired it, it works flawlessly.
Also -- for this price you would think it could read both the washer and the dryer at the same time. There is a switch to flip between the 2, but there should be a second display. The chime at the end of the load is pretty low too. If you're in another room from the remote you probably won't hear it.
All in all, I would highly recommend this toy. My wife used to do most of the laundry and now with washer and dryer gadgets, I find myself doing most of it. :-)"
