What's great about it: Long history of quality products from Acoustic Research
What's not so great: functional flop
"I use this unit with my television.
I have tried all three channels and still have abrupt loud sound blasts followed by loss of signal.
In general the sound quality seems adequate, but I have difficulty finding any kind of balance between the left and right earphone. It seems that I receive a strong signal in one ear on most occasions. This is bothersome and distracting. When commercials come on I get a huge blast of Stereophonic sound.
Effective range of this unit is barely 50 feet.
My rating for this unit -- pretty close to garbage quality for 80 bucks. ."

What's great about it: sounds great great range versitile
What's not so great: difficult to set in charger base
"this product has great sound for a small additional investment I bought an adapter for earpiece jack that would allow jack to fit in smaller outlets like my tv set or portable music units I get great range without giving up quality of sound I don't get any interferance and am quite pleased with this product I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a wireless headset"

What's great about it: Wireless,
What's not so great: not a reliable product
"1.) the headset doesn't lock in place. Which is very important for the charging process. After the headset is broken in the headset will become out of adjustment and that will cause problems when placing the headset back on the stand. Proper placement is required for the unit to charge.
2.) the unit will cut out with a loud static burst. Which is isn't fun for those quite moments in the movie. That seems to be because of reception issues. Even though I was only 5 to 10 feet away from the home base unit.
3.) The headset is not steady and can break easy. I had problems adjusting the headset. It would stick.
4.) Another "charging" issue is even when the charge light is lite. The unit will slip out of alignment and will not fully charge.
5.) Sound is not full and seems to be lacking noticeable bass. The headset was barely better then my TV speaker.
6.) After 3 weeks of disappointments I toss the unit in the trash and got a Sony.
Sony headset seem address all the problems Acoustic didn't."

great headphones

What's great about it: great range, good sound quality, excellent battery life, comfortable
What's not so great: good chance covered area will perspire, control layout on headphones takes some getting used to
"excellent cordless headphones for a good price. i was impressed with the sound quality, and very nice that it has a fine tuning dial to get the exact reception.
battery life is excellent, but like any rechargable battery, make sure you fully drain and fully charge the first few times.
a note about charging, i didn't notice it, but my girlfriend did say there was an annoying hum while the headset was on the cradle. again, i've never noticed any sound so i can't comment on it myself, but something to be aware of.
the headset is very comfortable, adjustable, sits on my big head nicely. plus, the padding is very soft and nice. but, as with any "over the ear" type headphone, your ears will tend to get sweaty.
my primary use has been on my XBOX 360, for gaming in private. this may sound trivial and unimpressive, but it shocked me the first time playing Assassin's Creed, wearing the headphones, and noticing the jingling of the character's sword and gear while walking, which I never noticed during normal play through the TV speakers.
great quality, great price, definitely should be at the top of your list."

What's great about it: Sound is good when you can get it.
What's not so great: Too much static.
"These headphones have good quality sound when they are working correctly. You have to change the channel frequently as not to get a lot of static. My son uses them when he watches dvd's and doesn't move too far from the computer,yet the channel still needs to be changed."

"When there is not static these are very good. Just have to get the right channel. I am hard of hearing and with these I can hear perfectly. They are easy to set up and charge right in the base. Overall a good product"

What's not so great: Cheap construction, whining noise when charging, the worst sound quality I've ever heard from a pair of headphones
"Now some of you seem to be pleased with the quality of these cans, but let me assure anyone with a decent sense of what good headphones sound like to STAY AWAY. Just for reference, my usual headphones are a pair of Sennheiser HD555's (~$100 if you're a savvy shopper).
At only $90, I didn't expect these to be amazing, but I expected sound similar to what I'd get from a pair of stock headphones that come with most portable audio players, maybe a little better. I excitedly set these up and popped in a set of new batteries (so I didn't have to wait to charge the NiCads). What I heard next was disappointing and made me a little angry. I even tried all 3 channels thinking there could be some interference, but no luck there either.
Sound quality: Severe attenuation of high frequencies, so much in fact that some vocals were almost inaudible. The bass is absolute trash. I think these things can only reproduce 150hz at the lowest; drums sound like someone pounding on a cardboard box. The mids were overpowering and not especially clean. There is no reason the quality should be this bad, there are plenty of systems that transfer huge amounts of data over wireless connection with no problems, definitely a design flaw.
All in all, I would be fairly happy with these if they cost $10, however, at $90, they are a complete waste of time. If you value sound quality AT ALL please avoid these like the plague."

What's great about it: Clear sound, easy setup, easy tuning
What's not so great: When charging emits an extremely high-pitch squeek
"These headphones sound and look great. They are easy to setup and great for the bed room. Most people can not hear it, but when they are charging, you can hear a high-pitch squeal. If you can hear the high-pitch squeal of a normal analog CRT Tube TV, then this is the same thing. If you do not know what I am talking about, then this product will not bother you at all. I still gave these a five star rating because I have learned to tune that hum out."

"The sound is absolutely awesome. I bought 3 pair of these for a media room. I have the ability to set each base unit to a different channel and then all of my buddies and I can watch and hear 3 different games. The base doubles as the charger, also the battery life is great. So far a great buy."
