What's great about it: It has all the features I need. I like the basics.

"I recently moved and purchased this washer. It is placed behind two folding doors near our living room. It is so quite that I do not hear it at all. Great washing machine. Great price."

"I just recently purchased this Whirpool washer. I had a Whirpool washer just like it for over 9 years and didn't have any problems with it. The one I had previously owned had been through a flood and sat in over a foot and a half of water for quite some time back in 2001 and continued to work without any problems after that. I hope I have the same luck with this one as I did with my other one."

What's great about it: Works Good
What's not so great: Could use more sound dampeners.
"This is the bottom level of machine sold at Costco. Best Buy was cheaper though.
I bought this machine about 2 months ago. So far no problems.
I went online and found a fabric softener dispenser for $8.00 delivered. Put it in and it works great.
This machine also has a bleach dispenser.
I had to pull the yellow plastic pin thing from the back."

"This washer does not have a fabric disp,or a pre-wash disp,as the product features states (Bleach,fabric softener and pre-wash dispensers eliminate guesswork and distribute cleaning agents at the proper time during cycle).This is not true,it is a false statement and costomers should not purches this item if they want these features.Don't make the same misstake that I did.Go to the store and look at the item,if it's not available in the store don't believe everthing in the product features or in the overview states."

Pretty & big, but noisy

What's great about it: Simple controls, good capacity, cleans well
What's not so great: Noisy grind
"Kids will do that. It seems like I'm washing clothes all the time. So, when the last Whilrpool bit the dust, I didn't think to switch brands. After all, I have been using it solidly since '99.
I could swear that when I read about this model, it mentioned something about being quiet. Well, that's not the case. This new Whirlpool has a kind of deep grinding throb that reminds more of being near a New York jackhammer.
So, I'm disappointed.
Okay, so it does clean clothes. Okay, it does have a pretty and colorful control panel. And, it's simple enough that my daughters can do the wash (as if!)
It's not so loud that my neighbors in the surround mile have complained (yet!). Still, it's a lot louder than the Whirlpool we had before.
So, if you have a basement, separate room, or bomb shelter where you can put this best, it will be a good buy.
Disclosure. I'm a little tweaked that when I came back to this site to write the review (the washer was delivered yesterday), the price has dropped by $50. I don't know if Best Buy makes good for their customers. Even before knowing that, though, I'm tempted to return it before I go deaf."

What's great about it: great all around washer
What's not so great: not the most high-tech out there
"This was a really great purchase. It's a great washer for me and my boyfriend, and we go through a lot of clothes for it just being the two of us! Very dependable, easy to use, and a great price. It's not the most high-tech washer out there but it certainly is a perfectly wonderful one for the price. Well worth the money spent. (and it does have a fabric softener, just read the manual if you cant find it)"

"This is a quality 3.2 Cu. Ft. washer in the mid-level price range. It has all the most commonly used wash/spin/temperature settings. It is quieter than any previous washer I have had. Clothes come out very clean and I have not experienced tangling of clothes like in other machines.
It is easy to install, as the rear wheels are pre-attached and self leveling. The drain hose is also pre-attached and simply needs to be pull out and plugged into your drain line."
