The DS Lite is less than two-thirds the size and more than 20 percent lighter than the original Nintendo DS! Aside from improved portability, the DS Lite allows you to adjust the screen to four different levels to accommodate a variety of lighting conditions. The microphone is located in the center, LED lights are clear and visible and the start and select buttons have been repositioned for easier access. There's even a removable cover included to protect the Game Boy Advance cartridge slot from dust and debris when you're not playing.

What's great about it: Fun to play, great games, wi-fi function, connectivity with certain wii games, touch screen
What's not so great: Short battery life, breaks in less than a year after purchase (top screen breaks off hinges), screens scratch/break easy
I bought a DS in December 2007 and already it has broken. The top screen is just hanging on wires. Sure the games are good but you want a gaming console that actually holds up don't you? If you are looking for a good gaming console, leave the DS Lite out. The Sony PSP has all of the great functions like wi-fi/ internet and great games without the cheap hinges and screens that get ruined. Its games are also much better. Get the PSP, not the cheap DS. Don't get ripped by buying a DS and be willing to pay a little more for a PSP to get your money's worth.

What's great about it: very compact
What's not so great: not durable when dropped
My dtr, 7 yo, saved her own money to purchase one, and she is quite pleased with it. I have to admit, I enjoy playing it when she is not playing it. It is easy for a 7 year old to operate.

I got a ds lite when it first came out and I have not had any problems with it ever. I travel a lot and the battery life lasts so long it is wonderful. There is a wide variety of games available for people of all ages and I just love it.

I have the pink DS Lite and it always keeps me entertained because you can carry it everywhere with you. The touch screen is a cool new innovation that is exciting to use while playing the game because it is different than other gaming consoles.

I purchased the ds last year and have enjoyed it ever since. I really like the dual screens, one for actual gameplay and the other for game information, but sometimes both for game play. by using the stylus that comes with the system, it opens up alot of possiblities and new ways of playing games. the games that are on this handheld are cool, especially zelda and the mario games. but there are other titles that are cool too such as castlevania which uses the stylus in unique ways such as drawing symbols on the bottom screen to open new doors or fighting bosses. It also has a small microphone in the middle of the handheld so on certain games such as brain train games you talk to it and it kinda understands what you are saying. another game that uses this miniture microphone is a mario game, which I forgot what was called but you blow into the small microphone and in the game baby mario is being held up by ballon and when blowed upon, baby mario rises in the air and keeps from falling to his death.
Alot of people complain about the graphics, but I certainly don't. they are on par with the nintendo 64 if not better. but not as good as the gamecube system. its in between both those systems. but still nice. I think the system was made for right handed people, because most games use the stylus for the right hand, I am left handed and took a while for me to get use to it, but now I can play really good on the system. The only game I know of that uses the stylus in the left hand is metroid prime. which is pretty descent game.

What's great about it: fun, touch screen, enjoyable, good games
What's not so great: ,not amazing graphics, a little childish, not alot of shooting games
The DS is a very fun portable console, and in my opinion is better than the PSP. There are alot of good games, with my favorite being Guitar Hero: On Tour. Although there are good games, alot of the games are designed and made for little kids, which I don't really like. There is especially a lack of shooting and violence games. It is very fun to play especially with the touch screen. It is very cheap and the games are usually only about $35. I would recommend this alot, I like it alot.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Great for all ages!
My 14 year old daughter has this, and she has owned it for a couple years now. She still uses it a lot. She never lost interest in it. Her 6 yr old brother plays it when he can get his hands on it. My husband took it from her room and played it so much I had to buy him one for his B-day. LOL true story There are so many games to purchase for it, a great variety. Our favorite is POGO. We've never had a problem with it.

What's great about it: Touch Screen, Like a mini wii, g
If you want entertainment on long car trips, than this the system for you. You get a pocketsized wii that allows you to control everything from settings to swords. Better than game boy becase gameboy rarely has new games.

What's great about it: play sp games, touch pad, wifi
What's not so great: bad wifi, not to many games, needs a new power connecter
okay i love the Nintendo hand held gaming console. when i bought it i was not to happy with what i got. the game selection is pretty bad but i have not played most of the games so i cant tell if they're fun. the biult in wifi is a good feature cause then you dont spend as much on the other 1 you can buy. but the best feature is the multiplayer settings. you dont need the game to play all you need to is connect and wait a while longer. you can chat with them and go international.
okay buy not as good as the psp.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: touch screen, pretty cool games, double screen
What's not so great: graphics pretty bad, gets boring pretty soon
the first time i saw the ds i had to get it. but a few weeks after i got it, i easily got bored of it. you get pretty bored of it real easily, but that depends on the games you have and how much you have. but also, it isn't quite the best portable game ever. imean the psp has lots of cool stuff a sytem has, but the ds doesn't. it has a home menu but doesn't have much cool stuff. it can't hold photos, music, videos, and all that. but i'd say its an okay sytem. but you have to get the right games, like mario kart or the new super mario bros. if you don't get the really great games, then you'll be bored after the first week.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: small and portable, multiple colors, much thinner than the original DS
What's not so great: the touch screen can get quite dull after constant use
I received the Nintendo DS Lite for a birthday soon after it came out. I haven't been more pleased. It's great for those times you don't have anything to do and want to have some fun! There is a vast selection of games and I love the ability to play GameBoy Advance games on it, and when not using the slot, the small cartridge cover that comes with it! This is a great product for younger kids and also for older! I would recommend this to anyone!

What's not so great: It's too bad,the nintendo DS has alot of wasted space.
The DS is a great gift,it really helps take the time away,lets say while your at a party you have your DS in your pocket and it's super noo more boredom!

What's great about it: Portable, small
This gaming system is amazing! In other game systems there are multiple components that can break or become lost, but this is so simple there is no threat of either! The dual screen is also amazing! The way the two interact makes the screen seem a lot larger. I take it everywhere I go, and it is perfect for road trip and airplane rides! This is the best purchase for entertainment I have ever made!!!!
