What's great about it: Easy set up.
What's not so great: POOR picture quality.
"Bought this camera plus the MS LifeCam Cinema and there is really no comparrison in the quality of the cameras. I returned this one immediately and bought four more of the LifeCam Cinema. The picutre on this model is fuzzy and terrible in any light where the LifeCam Cinema pops up right away in perfect focus and works great in very minimal light."

What's great about it: It worked for a while....
What's not so great: Stopped working.
"I bought this to webcam with family over the net.
It worked perfectly fine only until I rebooted my computer.
After that, it was as useless as a fork in a bowl of soup.
For whatever reason, it just stopped working and Microsoft
has absolutely no solution to the problem.
If you want something great, spend a little more money,
or just visit your family in person."

"quality is terrible but setup is easy. person looks blurry almost like a ghost of some kind, kind of like michael jackson except without the weird nose and hair. I was hoping it would be good and person would not look so weird, michael is a bit scarry you know."

What's great about it: Little to None Pixilation, Good Picture Quality, Quick Installation

"Overall it is a well built webcam, and colors are vivid when there is light, and quick installation. Price tag may not be worth the price, but its worth it when its on sale.
Video: It was quite stunned when I made transition from my cheap generic 12 dollar webcam, to this webcam which i manage to purchase on sale. First of all, when i attached the webcam i thought it was blurry. But, there is a circular cover over the lens that swivels, and it allows you to focus accordingly, after the desire focus it is very clear. In the day time the colors are vivid and magnificent due to the natural lighting provided by the sun, but when it comes to night time the default settings become dark, blue, and dim even with a artificial light. Thats why there are many programs that allow you to change the settings to a desire color, ie Manycams. Therefore, it may not be the best cup of tea for someone who is using a webcam for the first time. But overall, if you can figure how to adjust the focus, and colors it is a quite remarkable webcam if u purchase it around 20 dollars.
Exterior: I found the webcam to be a bit bulky compare to my previous camera, and the clip was an innovative design but it lacked the ability to clip on my monitor. However, its base is an excellent that i place it on the shelf above it. The movement of the camera is wonderful, it allows low and high angles in ease, and is very adjustable. It looks somewhat appealing, but the top of the webcam has a button that opens up windows live, which becomes annoying if you hit it when adjusting the camera. As for the microphone, its not the highest quality but its good as long as there is no background noise.
Verdict: For a person who uses their webcam nearly 24/7 to connect with friends, its a great camera with good picture quality, and a strong built. However, I recommend it if its on sale.

Camera stopped working after 1 week

What's not so great: The microphone continues to work, but the video stopped working after about a week. Had to buy another to replace it.

What's great about it: I have very little positive feedback... I guess it's easy to install?
What's not so great: The built in microphone is terrible and might as well not even be there.
"When I used the camera I even tried holding the camera right to my face and could still barely hear myself when I had the volume on full blast on my computer. In addition to that the picture is dark and fuzzy, I will normally not return purchases because it is such a hassle but this was ridiculous. I returned it and got the Dynex 1.3 MP Webcam at Best Buy and it is amazing!! So many more functions, way higher quality picture, actually has folders for video footage and the sound is excellent - AND it's cheaper. Don't wast your time or money on this microsoft piece of junk."

What's great about it: PQ, Stylish and functional design
What's not so great: Annoying Windows Live button
"This camera replaced a much cheaper GE on my desktop at home. The GE had a clip design, which wasn't wide enough to fit on my late-model IBM flat panel. In addition, the picture was very grainy in our low-light computer room.
Setup was easy. The instructions were to install the software before plugging in the device, but I'm not sure why. In any case, it was smooth and I was up and running in minutes. I didn't even need to restart my computer.
I absolutely love the unique stand on this webcam. It is clear that a lot of thought went into its design, and the end result is brilliant, IMHO. The camera rests stylishly on my monitor and boasts a beautifully clear picture, even with the lack of a bright light.
The device will primarily be used for Skype, so that I can communicate with my parents while at college.
I wholeheartedly trust Microsoft. Would definitely recommend this product line to anyone."

What's great about it: This webcam is easy to set up and use.
What's not so great: Is not as stable as I would hope when perching on a laptop.
"The video quality is pretty good, as long as there is sufficient light (a lamp will do). It automatically adjusts to the amount of light in the room which is pretty cool. The only bad thing is it always falls off my laptop when I move around. A clip design would have been better."

He got me this webcam for the computer thats runs on WIndows Vista Premium..and I LOVE IT, best webcam Ive EVER owned.. What's great about it: Easy to set up, great video quality on slower DSL hookup, works perfectly on XP computer
What's not so great: Nothing it is working just as I expect it should.

"A poorly built camera like most MS products. The image capture is OK but the microphone never works well. It always gives a buzzing background noise that makes your voice inaudible. The camera is thus impossible to call via Skype or to do anything else that requires the microphone. I am on my way to buy a Logitech cam because I have one on my laptop and it works great."

What's great about it: Cheap
What's not so great: Says I have background noise when I'm essentially in a vacuum. Works 10% of time. People can't hear me at all sometimes
"I annoy more people with the sounds this thing makes in their ears than anything. It's either feedback or static, rarely my voice at all. Huge disappointment from a brand I thought was solid. DO NOT BUY. Conversations even w/o the video are disappointing. When I run the same program (skype) on my own computer with another device, quality improves instantly.) I buy a ton of electronic/computer equipment (and notice I can spell. I love reviews riddled with typos/misspellings). I am not a rookie. This thing is frankly a piece of junk. (Love Best Buy though)"
