What's great about it: Online Co-op, small learning curve for beginners, good starting game for someone just starting out on xbox
What's not so great: Not very challenging for hardcore gamers
I thought this game was great. It's a bit dated and the graphics aren't as "pretty" as a lot of the newer games coming out, but I come from the school of gameplay over graphics so as long as the visuals aren't obstructive to gameplay I don't care if the graphics aren't the best out there.
Overall I think that hardcore gamers may think this game is a bit too easy and short, but this is a great game for beginners. I just bought my mother an Xbox 360 as an early bday/xmas gift, and this game is great for her to get used to the way the controller works. The controll scheme isn't too complex and you don't have to worry about too many intricate combos.
A previous reviewer compared this game to Gauntlet. I would definitely agree. The camera view is above the action while all 4 characters roam together to achieve their objectives.
Single player is alright, but in my opinion the online multiplayer is where this game shines. My fiancee lives in another country, and we both us our xboxes as a way to spend time together and do something fun together when we're not together in person so great multiplayer is important to me for EVERY game I play. The online multiplayer with this game isn't the greatest i've ever seen, but it is definitely fun to play. There are 4 characters that can roam around at once and whichever characters are not controlled by actual players are taken over by the AI in the game. The AI characters can be governed over by actual players. They can be set to be more aggressive or defensive among some other features. The AI isn't the most advanced out there. They tend to go off on their own or get in the way from time to time, but it usually doesn't interfere with objectives. It is rather annoying when you could use the help of the AI characters and they wind up dying in the middle of a battle. That's where having an actual player with you is better.
This version is the gold version which is different from the regular version in that the gold version has a character pack included. If you go onto the Xbox live Marketplace this hero/villian character pack costs 800 microsoft points (about 10 dollars) but with the gold version of the game you will get that character pack included. Definitely worth the money to get the gold version so you don't have t drop the extra cash on the character pack.
The character pack adds:
The Hulk
Cyclops
Nightcrawler
Hawkeye
Venom
Magneto
Sabretooth
Dr Doom
There are quite a few characters to choose from and you unlock more as the story progresses. Each character has their own unique abilities that can be upgraded using points earned and coins collected throughout the maps you play on. You can also pickup add-on items from bosses that add to your abilities.
Overall I don't believe this game is a "must" for everyone who owns an xbox 360, but I do feel this is a great beginner's game or a game for anyone who likes solid multiplayer with friends or family. It's a fun game that can kill some time. If you enjoyed any of the Gauntlet games that have been released over the years I believe you will enjoy this one as the gameplay is quite similar. This game is like Gauntlet with Marvel Superheros/villians with the RPG element thrown in for character/ability upgrades. The graphics aren't the best out there, but graphics aren't everything.

What's great about it: graphics, gameplay, story
What's not so great: length of game
this is a very good game, but not great. the graphics in this game are ok, but still better than I thought when I purchased the game. the game plays alot like gauntlet. If you have never played that game before, it is a top down game with four characters to choose from. of course here there are a tons of super heros you can choose from. when playing a single player game you can control the other characters buy simply being next to the character you want to become and pressing one of the buttons on the controller. I forget which one since I haven't played it in awhile. the story is intresting as well, but just like the graphics, its only ok.
the problem with this game is that the game is kind of short. other than that I don't see much of a problem. I recommend this game to every marvel comic book fan, as you will find much to do. I also recommend this to fans that like games like gauntlet. cause thats what your getting. but that is not a bad thing.

What's great about it: Heroes! Villians!
What's not so great: Everything else.
I would definitely say this game is way to easy. The graphics are good but when you are four characters and switching them around constantly you get dizzy and sick. The gamer points are easy to earn but I would recommend buying a different game. If you like heroes try a something else.

What's great about it: has Marvel characters
What's not so great: bad graphics, bad camera angle, bad combat, boring
This game is very boring. The only time i played this was when I first got my xbox 360 and i only had this and forza motorsport 2 and I felt like this game could have had just as good of graphics on PS2 which is not good. This game has just been just been sitting on y desk for months now without being played. This is not a good game.

What's great about it: your favorite heros, tons of fun
What's not so great: short, hard to reach save points
This is a great game all of the best and badest marvel heros under your control. Not only can you use you favorite heros you can learn about the ones you never heard of. Even after the game is over you can play through again at a higher difficulty and its just as fun!

What's great about it: Gives you a god knowledge of Marvel comic characters
What's not so great: Not a lot of characters
This game i enjoy playing when i don't have anything else to do. I learned about a lot of characters that i have never heard of from this game. I don't exactly know how that helps at all ever in your life, but it is still cool to know who has what powers (knowing this is sort of okay for the ladies). Like for instance i never knew there was a Spider-Woman and she doesn't have any relation to Spider-Man. Isn't that wierd?! There are also a lot of other cool characters. what is also cool is that it really isn't that easy of a game. And it is very long. It will definetly keep you busy for maybe a few days to a week. I would recommend this game to any person who can push buttons because all you need to know is how to push the A and X button to be good at this game.

What's great about it: Good graphics reponsive controls cool character build up system
What's not so great: camera views can be annoying or limited at times.
the character upgrade system is really cool and you can customize all characters in various ways including powers attributes defence and costumes. You can even make your own teams or mix and match the existing characters to find out whoo works best together. If you like the comics from marvel this is a good game to get, it will even test your knowledge of the marvel characters and let you know how well you know your stuff. over all a good game

What's great about it: amazing story, and many playable characters
What's not so great: None
There are 20 playable famous super heroes, and they all have different types of special attacks. The story of this game is very amazing, and you can learn a lot of things about Marvel comics and characters through this game. The cutscenes and movies are extremely enjoyable. This is the Best antion role playing game that I've ever played.

What's great about it: Interesting plots and easy gameplay
What's not so great: None for me
My two sons (6 and 8) and I started playing it and have really enjoyed it together! I'm not worried about the combat violence, but I do avoid games with bad language, and this one has been clean. We like being able to play together on a game and even though they don't know the characters, they have decided who their favorites are.

What's great about it: Multiplayer
What's not so great: Single Player
The only reason why I have played this game is the fact that it comes bundled with new Xbox 360's along with Forza Motorsport 2. If you have not recieved this game with your 360 you should steer clear of it nonetheless. I enjoy comics and even movies related to comics but this game just isn't fun. The battling is easy and the cutscenes are extremely tedious. If you do play this game I recommend it be with friends as playing any game with a friend is sure to be fun, and you might enjoy this game as you all fight over where to go and who controls the screen.

What's great about it: lots of characters to chose from
What's not so great: graphics, gameplay
This game would probably be better if you had 3 friends to play it with. Because you go around with 4 characters, and you can controll all 4 of them 1 at a time, but this game just gets very repetative after the first few missions.
I only got this game because it came with my xbox 360. But if you like xmen and that sorta thing then maybe you will like this game. Characters you get to chose between are spider-man, wolverine, iceman, storm, captain america, deadpool, elektra, ms. marvel, thor, the thing, and ghost rider, and you must use these characters to fight the terrorist group led by dr doom known as the masters of evil

What's great about it: Great local multiplayer
What's not so great: not so fun by yourself
It is a very fun game if you have 2-4 people playing it with you, but by yourself, it seems to get repetitive and boring after a while.
Overall, I'd still give it a 4-stars because it isn't the greatest game out there, but if you have friends to play with, it actually can be a very fun time.

What's great about it: Lots of characters, fun special moves, easy to play
What's not so great: Repetitive, stupid AI
This game is a great hack & slasher that lets you play as your favorite Marvel characters. You gain exp. as you defeat enemies and you can use that to level up your characters and give them more abilities. While fun and easy the game can get a little repetitive for anyone looking for a challenge. There is not much to this game besides pressing the attack and super attack moves over and over. You don't have to block although the option is there. Most people who get the game are probably just interested in the Marvel aspect though and will enjoy being immersed in that world so I would recommend it to anyone who was a fan of the comics.

This game is excellent and has a very nice 4 player mode, live or online. If you were to buy this though, I would suggest finding a cheap copy of the Gold edition of this game as it will give you the 4 extra characters that you would otherwise have to download.
