SynopsisA game this revolutionary can only come from outer space. If you thought there was high-flying madness in earlier installments of the Mario Brothers' series, wait until you see what the pleasantly plump plumber can do in this latest game. When creatures kidnap Princess Peach and send her into space, Mario must give chase. Join Mario and friends on a mind-bending, gravity-defying tour of the galaxy at large to bring the Princess back to Earth. Call it one small step for Mario, and one giant leap for a new generation of gamers. As Mario, you'll unleash a series of smooth new moves by shaking the Wii Remote, pointing and dragging items on-screen with the specialized pointer and more. Execute the same soaring jumps across wild alien terrain as you would with a traditional console, but this time with a greater range of movement. Take advantage of the innovative aspects of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller at every twist and turn to get ahead in the game. Soar above the skies for a ride with Mario, where you're the one in control.

BEST GAME EVER02/13/2008
By BlueOysterCultRules
What's great about it: Challenging use of different gravities, fun boss battles, very good gpraphics What's not so great: ABSOLUTELY NONE
"At first I wasn't sure if I would like this game but 5 minutes into the game i realized that I had made a great choice. This game is full of unique levels. It is a game thats game play is similar to that of Super Mario Sunshine in the way that each stage has different challenges and you complete them by finding a star. Overall I give it 100%!"

Best Mario Game Ever!02/12/2008
By jcspccfrom Sacramento, California
What's great about it: Graphics, Physics, Gameplay, Soundtrack, What's not so great: None
"Mario Galaxy restores joy to gaming. THe game is lush, from it;s musical scores to the graphics. The physics engine is jaw-dropping at times and the way they use the engine to create unique puzzles is amazing. Once you have leapt from one planetoid to another smoothly and without effort you will understand what I mean. The difficulty is reasonable allowing kids to dive in a have fun and providing experienced gamers with some genuine challenges. The length is just right. You will not regret the purchase of this game, every Wii owner needs this in their collection."

A Recommended Game02/11/2008
By Jmc2793from Los Angeles, CA
What's great about it: Graphics, Controls, Gameplay, Music, Levels (It's Fun!) What's not so great: Camera Angles could be very annoying, Difficult on some levels and may tick you off
"When I first received this game as a Christmas gift, I first though it would be a very cheesy, kiddy-like, and easy game. When I played Super Mario Galaxy, it was very fun and challenging. It's both a platformer and an adventure game in which you can use Mario's abilities to the fullest - from transforming into Bee Mario to jumping off walls. A great aspect of the game is on most levels where you can defy gravity by simply walking all over the ceilings and walls. Overall it's an awesome game, so you should get it. Really."

Was not what I expected.02/10/2008
By Muzzfrom Flushing, NY
What's great about it: Diverse game play and big worlds to explore What's not so great: Bad camera angles and hard to control
"This game didn't live up to my expectations, compared to the N64 version this game falls flat. You don't get to explore the levels in the way you would like to, all the stars are arranged(or hidden) in a linear way where all you do is get from point A to point B to get the star. Interesting concept, but not so great game play and loose plot. Still worthy enough to play through just once though."

Galaxy=Greatness02/10/2008
By WiiPlayer87from Boston, MA
What's great about it: Extremely fun game to play. Great game to start learning the controls for Wii. What's not so great: Pretty easy to beat except for a handful of levels. Can be confusing at times.
"This game has been one of the best games I have ever played. It brings you back to the good days of Super Mario 64 with similar kind of gameplay but much more innovative. It may not have been the most challenging game, but it was always very interesting and had some very cool features about it that I don't want to ruin for anyone who will play it. One of the best games to start playing for Wii because it provides a good sample for what the system is capable of. It takes a little while getting used to the controls and some of the odd camera angles that you might get because of the way the game is played, but well worth learning once you get into the game. Some levels are very easy and would take very little time to get beat, but others are very challenging and may be hard to complete without a players guide of some sort. A great game for Nintendo to put out with the release of Wii. A must buy by my standards."

SMG is a must-play for everyone02/10/2008
By 8DScott8
What's great about it: Awesome gameplay and controls What's not so great: ...nothing, really.
"Super Mario Galaxy is definitely a must have game for this generation of consoles. This is the kind of game people call "system sellers" because it is worth it to buy a Wii just to play this game. With so many gimmicky "party games" on the market for the Wii, games like SMG really shine, especially when they're at the top of the list like this game. Everything is done right with this game. The wiimote handles this platforming masterpiece surprisingly well. The only thing you'll need to be "waving" your arms for is for Mario's spin move, and that really only requires a flick of your wrist. Not only do the graphics look incredible for a Wii game, but for any console. So if you own a Wii and don't own this game, you're doing yourself a disservice because this is soemthing that needs to be experienced by everyone."

What's great about it: Graphics are amazing. The game is a lot of fun. Kept my attention span for a long time. What's not so great: Made me a little quizzy in the beginning with all of the circular motions
"This is a definite must for Super Mario lovers. I feel like I'm playing Nintendo all over again like back when I was 6 years old. The only difference is the graphics are 100 times better. It is fun, makes you think and has lots of cool surprises."

An amazing, revolutionary game02/10/2008
By GGFan
What's great about it: Innovative gravity feature, orchestrated music, creative platforming What's not so great: None
"Super Mario Galaxy is the sequel to Super Mario Sunshine, the last Mario platformer made by Nintendo. It was a five year wait, but certainly worth it as I feel this is the strongest 3D Mario platformer out of the "big three" (Mario 64, SMS and this).
Super Mario Galaxy introduces a gravity system, which allows you to perform such feats as run upside down, run on planets (yes, run on planets) and other things as well. The game for the most part isn't too difficult, which makes it easy to get into, but at the same time, there are some challenging aspects of the game.
Much like it's two predecessors, Mario has to collect something in this game as well. The object is to collect Power Stars, the same from Mario 64. In addition to Power Stars though, you will also need to collect star bits, which will allow you to hit objects and enemies, and feed hungry residents of the galaxy to unlock secret levels.
The best part about Super Mario Galaxy is that it isn't a generic platformer. There are all kinds of things you will need to do, whether it be transforming into a bee to fly around, move across platforms that quickly vanish and carefully navigate a world made of candy.
Another thing worth mentioning about Super Mario Galaxy is the music. The music is amazing in this game, nothing you would ever expect from a Mario game. Most of the music is orchestrated and they included some remixes of past Mario themes, such as the airship theme from Mario 3 which I loved.
Overall, Super Mario Galaxy just might be the best game out there for the Wii right now and possibly the best overall game right now. It is definitely a must have for gamers."

What's great about it: Graphics are amazing. Love the co-op play for the levels that are hard What's not so great: Made me a little sick when I first started playing but after awhile it didn't bother me
"Love the different types of skills mario has with all the different jump selections. Great concept with the gravity levels. this game is definetly worth the 50 bucks. Would play this game over and over even though I've already beat it. A must buy."

MARIO IS BACK!!02/02/2008
By MrChingon
What's great about it: Lives up to the Mario Experience What's not so great: N/A
"If you're like me and have been keeping up with Mario's game appearance, then I guarantee that you'll appreciate his return. Mario has revolutionized the gaming industry in: 1989 w/ Mario 3 on the NES, 1991 w/ Super Mario World on the SNES, & 1996 w/ Super Mario 64. This time Mario won't just take it to the next level; instead Mario will defy gravity and take YOU out of this world. Super Mario Galaxy is Mario's best adventure, and as I said earlier, this game absolutely lives up to the Mario experience... 2 thumbs up!!"

well worth the purchase01/27/2008
By JERMINITISfrom Arkansas
What's great about it: Entertaining for hours What's not so great: multiplayer
"VERY good game for the Wii. Obviously, Mario is the frontman for Nintendo. Therefore, the game centered on him better be legit. This game has a variety of tasks to accompish, which keeps you occupied and entertained. Nintendo may not "sling out" tons of games, but the ones they do make are great. This game is no different. I'm sure you could make this game work for other consoles, but the Wii's control set up works great. Especially, certain levels where the remote is used as a balancer for Mario. Plus, it makes it easy to collect the "star bits" by just pointing the remote towards them.
Honestly, my favorite parts of the game are the various mushrooms you can get and the various stars you can get while "comets" are in the galaxy which you are playing. Both of these parts add a variable to the game to change its pace, which I like.
Overall, I highly recommend this game to any gamer of any age."

best WII game out there-soo far01/27/2008
By OptimusPrime520from Pennsylvania, PA
What's great about it: awsome storyline, kool moves, good graphics What's not so great: after all your hard work you just get a star
"What you think would get old, still hasn't! Again, play as Mario to save Princess Peach and kick some bowser butt. Awsome use of gravity, and some cool two pplayer co-op. play as a star to help Mario stun enemies and hold flying rocks to save beloved Mario. even help collect star bits for him. The story is great, but it would be cool if you needed more than 60 stars to beat Bowser."
