This game is the absolute best mario game in the entire galaxy. It can not be beat, it is very creative game that is exciting to play and each galaxy offers a different challange so it is not repetative.

What's great about it: Graphics, fun factor, difficulty.
What's not so great: Prematurely giving you a choice to end the game before you finish it. Not sure what this was about.
I cannot even describe how good this game really is, although I will give it my best shot.
When you are looking for a game that is just good. No fluff, no nonsense, just a game that was made very well, this is it. Yes, it is a Mario game and the name alone conjurs up side scroller, mushrooms, save the princess style game. Which it is, only Galaxy is so much more than that.
It is difficult at points, the puzzles are so much of a challenge that even adults when they first play it will get frustrated. The galaxies are endless, the bosses are more and more difficult as you progress, the story is engaging and all of these combined make this game VERY addicting.
My wife and I couldn't put it down. We played it every chance we got and had a blast doing it. We went out and bought Galaxy 2 and put it on the shelf just so we would have it when we finished.
The one downside is that eventually you are given a choice to go save your "special one" before you have completed all the galaxies. I never expected this to essentially end the game, but it did. I would advise everyone that when presented with this choice, don't take it. Continue playing the game and go back to it later. IT was my choice and I made it so I can't cut it down a star for that. I should have known better.
The sad part is this choice prematurely ended our game. BUT, we moved onto Galaxy 2 and that is a plus.
I would say this game is a VERY balanced mix between difficulty, fun, and a well designed galaxy which is great on the eyes. The fun factor is through the roof. I am a MP/FPS gamer and never thought I could go back to the tried and true Mario, but I did and haven't looked back. I look forward to all Mario games to come.

Lots of fun to play. Many levels to play through. When you are done you'll want to play it again. The gameplay is flawless and the graphics are very colorful. Great overall game.

What's great about it: The challenge
What's not so great: the new way to controll the game
New to the whole Wii thing.. I loved The NES Mario II and other old school Marios. The new way of 2 handed playing has taken me by surprise. I wish you could play with the old controllers( but only for Online play?) I don't get it. So I will learn to drive all over again. As a whole the game is bright the graphics are superb the fun is there. Its just that I used to ace these games. But now I feel like I was just re-born and have to learn to read and write again. You know what they say you can't teach and old dog new tricks. I hope I can learn and not get to frustrated.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: yoshi isnt in this game which kind of surprised me. hes only in the second one
I'm a very pick girl when it comes to buying games. I check the reviews and game ratings for basically every game before buying it. i can say without a doubt that this is an amazing game. It's extremely addicting, has great graphics, great lengh and everybody loves mario. new fun things come around every corner. this is definately my favorite wii game. if your thinking about buying this for yourself or someone else, trust me its a good idea. no matter how old you are, youll love it!

I got this game in summer of 2008 and beet it 2 weeks ago. Its not that challenging at first, but it gets harder as you go on. It has been a LONG TIME since you could play as Luigi in a game like this. I used to have a hard time with watter controls in mario games, but this one make it seem easy. Can't wait to get Super Mario Galaxy 2!

I love playing Super Mario Galaxy. It came out 2007 and it is still my favorite game as of April 12, 2010. The only bad thing is that I know that Super Mario Galaxy 2 is coming out, but the only thing is that I don't know Super Mario Galaxy 3 is coming out.Ha Ha Ha it is my favorite game of all time

After months of playing, we have gotten all 121 stars with Mario AND Luigi. 242 stars!!! Great family game, my 5 year old loves Mario! Just as good as Mario 64 if not better. Can't wait for Galaxy 2!!!!

What's great about it: Easy to play yet completely challenging
What's not so great: 3D gets confusing!
I have several Wii games but Galaxy is, by far, the best one. It's easy to get into from the start but each new galaxy brings it's own set of challenges. I think this game would be great for any age as well; the idea is simple and the game play basic but the game is chalk full of great problem solving situations. I look forward to putting this in each evening afer work!

What's great about it: 2 can play the game
Get a friend to help with a second Wii remote and another player can jump in at any time and to help grab star bits and fire them at enemies and sweep aside incoming attacks. You can grab a ice flower in any ice levels and then you will find Luigi in one of the ghost levels.
The game is super fun to play.

I absolutely love this game. It is so addicting! I've actually sat and played it from sun up to sun down. It so reminds me of the Mario games I used to play when I was younger. And just like i was a little weary of the Bowser boards as a child I am still weary of them as an adult. And when I beat the Bowser boards it is the ultimate reward!.
I haven't learned how to swim effectively yet as I find the controls for it very annoying, but other than that I absolutely love this game!
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Awesome graphics! Never-ending
What's not so great: Only compatible with Wii
I love this game! The levels are very challenging and the entire game has great graphics. There is a numerous amount of levels, which is good for people who play this daily, just so the game isn't completed after only a few days. I don't really think the game is quite worth the price, though (Near $50.00).

What's great about it: Beautifully made. Lots of things to do.
What's not so great: Very challenging.
A platformer is a game wherein, at some point, your character needs to jump from one platform to another and if you miss, you die. I absolutely hate platform games! I am not good at it and it infuriates me. That said, Super Mario Galaxy is just so beautiful and well made that I did not mind dying constantly and having to do levels over and over... well up to a point. I haven't actually finished the game even after 2 years of having it -- but I am awed by the many levels (galaxies), powers, environments and characters that populate the game.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is game was OK. The graphics were good for wii, and its pretty fun the first time you go through the entire game. Didn't like the shortness of a game, and a lot of the levels were a bit too easy..

this is the best game available for the wii.... if you have a wii then this game is a must buy, whether you are a casual gamer or a hardcore gamer.
the only thing that is not too good on this game are the graphics (they´re good for the wii).... but common, this is the wii, so the graphics are no match for the Xbox 360/PS3, but that is neutralized by the funny and exciting gameplay that you get from this game.... you won´t get bothered with this game.... well worth its price, much funnier than games with better graphics from other platforms

I think this was a great game. The time it took to beat this game was extrmely long. The gameplay is fun and chanllenging. The only thing I didnt like as much is the way the screen moves when you are on the galexies. I cant wait for number 2 to come out. I thought that Mario 64 could not be beaten, but they did it again. You will have fun with this game and will take countless hours to beat. This is no easy game as it does get more difficult the further you get. I do recommend this one.

What's great about it: Mind-boggling levels - so many different galaxies and levels that are all unique!
What's not so great: Nothing yet, but they need to come out with the sequel soon!
When looking at the cover art on the front of the box, you may think, "This looks like a kiddie game!" However, this really isn't the case at all. Everyone I know who has tried this game has loved it, even those "cool" hardcore gamers who would normally think Mario and crew is too lame for them haha.
All the levels are unique and exciting and keep you playing as long as you can.
I would recommend this to a friend!
