SynopsisThey may look cute, but there's nothing nice about the characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This fighting frenzy will have you inflicting painful KO's on familiar opponents you thought were your friends. Take your frustrations out on Link, Mario and other characters from throughout the gaming world. Shoot spaceships out of the sky in the Lylat System from the Star Fox games and deal out killer blows in Rumble Falls based on the look and feel of Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat. Hit opponent after opponent to build up your damage meter, then knock your enemies clear off the screen. Rely on weapons that are silly but very effective, such as banana peels, pitfalls, gooey bombs and many more. Hurl old-school crates and barrels or select from Assist Trophies and Poke Balls to strike fear in the hearts of your foes. Combine Standard, Strong and Smash attacks to bash your way to victory. There are so many ways to smash, you'll get lost in the melees for hours on end.

"With the tier system thrown out the window they evened out a lot of the characters making it easier to play the "lower tier" characters without a huge disadvantage. The system takes a little while getting used to if your used to SSBM but after a short while you wont know the difference. The new items and assist trophies and an entirely new level of fun and challenge to this Nintendo success.
And if you order online, Best Buy ships very well."

"This game was the BEST game i have purchased for the wii. The controller variation is great also. It takes a little time to get used to the controls, but it is awesome once you get the hang of it. The new characters are great, and the online play is fun. They also added a subspace emissary(story mode). The online play does lag sometimes, depending on the connection. You get used to the lag after awhile though. All in all, great product and tons of fun."

"The third game in Nintendo's vaunted Smash Bros. series, Brawl brings to the Wii exactly what it did in its first two iterations: fast, frenized, fun gameplay that can last for hours on end. My friends and I have literally spent hours upon hours continuously brawling. With 35 characters (21 initially available) and 41 different stages (not to mention the fact that you can make your own stages!), the gameplay options are virtually limitless. There are countless modes of play, and it's enough to keep even a single player busy for weeks, if not months, on end (see how long it takes you to beat boss battle mode on intense difficulty!)
Unfortunately, the game isn't perfect. The online mode is extremely laggy and slow, and doesn't add to the experience as most players would have hoped. Also, the single player adventure mode, called the Subspace Emissary, is extremely repetitive and long. In short, it's not very fun to play, but you need to play it to beat all of the challenges. All in all, though, these really are minor complaints, as the rest of the game shines enough that it more than makes up for its small shortcomings. If you own a Wii, you should own this game. Period."

"The game is all around great, but there is one major thing that keeps this from hitting five stars. The controls are very difficult to understand using the Wiimote. It took us about a week of constant button mashing to figure out what does what. The instruction manual wasn't really of any use either. What's great about it: Balanced, new characters, new features (final smash), online play (with friend or strangers), variety of controls What's not so great: online play has some lag/delay, but that's about it
"The new Smash Bros. Brawl game is excellent. If you like straight up fun and action by yourself or with friends, you should get this game. It's by far the best one out of the three Smash Bros series, and every character is well-balanced. It includes most of the old characters from the previous games, and as well as some new characters such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Snake (from Metal Gear Solid), Wario, and many more! The controls are exactly the same as Smash Bros Melee, so you won't have to learn anything new, but they have added in other features as well. Each character has a "final smash" , which is pretty much a super move. You can plug in game cube controllers to play, and also play with the WiiMote + Nunchuk, or just the Wiimote itself. The online play is fun, but it's a little laggy. It's free though, so you can't really complain. Even if you're playing alone, there's many single player modes and events that will keep you busy. They allow co-op mode for all of the single player events/modes as well, so if a friend wants to jump in during your adventure-mode, they can. Overall, this game is probably my best purchase out of all the games, because it hardly ever gets boring."

"The game is oh so fun when played with 3-4 players. It is also possible to take turns and play a championship of up to 42 players, we have yet to find 30-40 people, but it would be great for a large social event. The moves are much easier to handle with both hands using the nunchuck and the wii mote. The new adventure mode is cute and has a story to it, unlike the classic fight each character mode. I love all the new characters and some of the new improved moves. I still believe though that N64 smash brothers was much more successful for its time period. I wish they could have done more."

"If you enjoyed the other super smash brothers, there is nothing really holding you back from getting this and enjoying it. You may be likely to miss old things or be bothered with some of the changes, though there is alot of good rich content added. The one thing that bothers me about this addition, the removal of the grading system after ever battle.In SSBmelee, you would be told about how you acted in battle and be graded points for it, or taken points from, such as repetively using the same move, it was a fun quirk. The campaign in this one is very long and decently fun, the multiplayer modes, while fun, are lacking of features and modes. The wifi online with people that you do not know never has worked for me and I do not have friends on the Wii to get codes from. This game is overall the best Wii game, though, that is saying next to nothing on this system."

What's great about it: Original story mode and the new one; very fun, a lot of characters, play online against friends, all ages fun. :) What's not so great: Wiimote/Nunchuck controlling annoying if you're used to N64/Gamecube.
"I've played every Smash Bros. that comes out and it never fails to be just as fun as the previous, if not more. The story mode on this one is so long it kept me playing for days. My friends come over and help on the new story mode, which is a huge plus, it makes it even MORE fun. I just really like this game. I play it online against my friends from my hometown and everything. I don't see anyone not liking this game. It's really that fun. The only thing that bothered me was the handling of the wiimote/nunchuck because I was so used to old games, but that doesn't matter because I can hook up my gamecube controller. So no complaints here. :)))"
