What's great about it: The size
My other stainless steel Oster can opener broke after 2 months not purchased at Best Buy. Used Best Buy rewards to purchase this one and not completely satisfied. It shaves the can and shavings go into the can. I bought the warranty and may bring it back for a replacement.

What's not so great: Gray plastic looks nothing like stainless
Gray plastic on this looks nothing like stainless steel. Works ok otherwise so far.

What's not so great: Stainless color
The color of the stainless is for sure not the same as my appliances or stainless toaster, however I just don't sit them next to each other. It's a much lighter color. The opener is fine for the price, but if you want one that is truly a more normal stainless color, spring for the more expensive.

What's great about it: It was fine for the first couple of times
What's not so great: It stripped out only after a couple of uses
I bought this item and it was cheap, so I thought I would save the money instead of going with the Hamilton Beach opener. Big mistake. This only worked a couple of times and then it stripped out. It is now out of the return policy and I will have to buy the Hamilton Beach opener now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Seems to be much better quality than other inexpensive units I've had.
What's not so great: N/A
I've had quite a few of these over the years and they never last long. This one seems to be much better quality, smoother & quieter.

What's great about it: Quiet operation, easy to use.
What's not so great: The can opener shimmies on the kitchen counter when using.
Looks good, operates very quietly, works well. The can opener also moves around when used. That, I do not like. Otherwise it is a good product. I felt the price was a little high.

The magnetic lid lifter for safe removal of lids really works well and easy to use. The Stainless-Steel look of the can operner is slick and looks great on my kitchen counter. Great price for the value

What's great about it: NOTHING
What's not so great: Gets stuck opening a can. It DULLs knifes it doesn't sharpen them.
I recommend you do not buy this can opener. I've tried to open different types of cans, it has trouble doing what it was made for. (not powerfull enough) As for the knife sharpner, It has only DULLED my knifes... I think the 'case' prevents the knife from 'reaching' the sharpening stone... THE sharpner is NOT mechanical it is two 'stones' tilted and mounted in the back... IF you can, I suggest you bring a can to try to open using the display model in the store and try it beore you buy it. If you can't try before you buy, I suggest you save the box and reciept. I should have saved the box so I could return it

What's great about it: - runs smoothly, stays in same place, and easy to use
What's not so great: - takes up counter space
Quite a nice little upgrade from a hand-operated unit. Just what we needed, as we keep losing the manual opener and the little gizmo. Very dependable and easy to use. You can't go wrong with one of these. Even if it costs a few extra bucks, you'll save time in searching for the manual openers.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: Not what I expected
I bought this, expecting it to be stainless steel. Yes the opener part is stainless, but the gray casing is just gray plastic. I wanted brushed stainless steel to match my appliances. I'm disappointed. I'll be replacing it as soon as I find what I want.
