What's great about it: Wears out your patience
What's not so great: Software will not maintain a network connection
This is the only negative review I've ever felt compelled to give... hopefully it'll spare others the drain in time and patience. Sure, this network card speaks volumes in capabilities, but what is printed on the box is far from the truth. I've been building computer systems since '98 and I use Best Buy occasionally if I'm in a hurry. This is the first time I've run into a defective product out of the box from BB. I did hours of troubleshooting and research and simply NETGEAR failed with this product. Read the reviews on the Newegg website... dozens have encountered this hardship. Be wise and opt for a different network card.

What's great about it: Ease of setup, range
What's not so great: A bit pricey compared to some connections out there.
I bought this for my father he is setting up a media room and wanted to move his internet connection out there so his PC would now need wireless. Easy set up, great range, good price would recommend for someone needing a longer range product.

What's great about it: Solid connectivity.
What's not so great: Price, Netgear's software is broken for Windows platforms.
I had a hard time getting the adapter to work because I was following the instructions on the manual. After I got in touch with Netgear's tech support, it turned out I got it to work with Windows' settings for wireless connectivity. Netgear told me not to use their software. This happened on the partition I'm running XP. I installed Win 7 on another drive for dual boot and the same thing happened. Don't use Netgear's software, just let Windows take care of it.

If you are in the basement directly below the wireless hub you won't have any problems but if you are anywhere else in the house the range sucks. Works well as long as you are close enough.

What's great about it: Easy set up; solid connection
What's not so great: Nothing!!
I may be biased toward Netgear since I've been using their products for years!. My previous wireless adapter (also a Netgear) was having connection issues. I had the adapter for some years. Thinking it was time for a new one, I ran out and got this adapter. Installation was easy-peasy!! After completing the software installation, the adapter connected to my router and have been getting a solid connection since. I have a small home and my router is downstairs and my computer is directly above the router upstairs. I play World of Warcraft and haven't had a disconnect while playing or even if my computer is sitting idle for hours!! Always think you get more than your money's worth with Netgear!

What's not so great: price, range
Range cannot handle an upstairs room 20-30ft away. Don't expect to be gaming at that range I'm not sure about closer but the latency is to bad at that range. It is good enough for browsing and watching videos on the web. Seems a bit overpriced for the performance I'm receiving. I'll be looking for a replacement for this item soon.

Very very easy set up, though the one thing I wish it had is a better range. Besides that, it's the easiest way to connect something hard wired and wireless.

What's great about it: Easi of set up and it WORKS
What's not so great: Reception is average
I was in a hurry to get this done so this was available. I didn't have experience with installing it so I was a bit hesitant. I have to say it was VERY EASY and took just a few minutes, easy to follow directions. Best of all it works and with the easy install what else can I say?
It gets pretty decent reception, I have the wifi/modem located on the 2nd floor of our 2 story house and have this on the 1st level in the room right below. It gets fair/good connectivity. I have not seen any performance or Internet slow down from being hard wired. It has been a month or so and no issues.
An easy inexpensive way to turn your desktop wireless. What a nice convenience to be able to move you computer without worrying about having to put it so it can be hard wired.

What's great about it: Easy to install
What's not so great: Nearly everything
I bought this product for a desktop computer to avoid running a long Ethernet cable down a hallway to another room in my house. BIG MISTAKE. My internet connection provides me with a comfortable 25MB download speed on my wired connections from my router/modem as well as on my laptops wireless connection. However, this product would only provide a maximum of .75MB download speed. After trying EVERYTHING possible, including different drivers, software, altering the MTU settings and contacting Netgear support I was unable to achieve a good, solid connection. Netgear support finally recommended that I return the product and purchase a different PCI card from their website since they have seen many others with the same exact issue.
Friendly warning: Do NOT listen to recommendations from Best Buy employees and avoid this device entirely.

What's great about it: Easy install. Works with *nix.
What's not so great: The antenna is almost the size of an Aspire Revo.
I got this up and running (after a few beers no less) in about 10 minutes on Linux Mint 9. I just had to do a quick install of the Broadcom drivers and it was up and running after a reboot.
It's got a honker of an antenna, but I'm using it for an HTPC, so I just put it behind the television. It gets a great signal and I get to run one less cat5 in my new house.
I wholeheartedly recommend this to any Linux user.

What's great about it: Good antenna, does not drop signal
This is the best PCI wireless adaptor I have ever used. The antena is external and quite effective. The throughput is excellent and it seems to work as good as a wired connection for most things. I would certainly buy another one.

What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: Drivers and software
Tried this on a Window 7 machine - install is terrible and the drivers are flaky. Make sure you don't use the 40mhz option on the Bandwidth capability if your using it with a N-series Netgear router. After spending 5 hours with it I uninstalled the software, found some Broadcom drivers for the 4320 and used those. Wish I had shopped around - 1/2 the price and atheros chips in the TP Link...
