What's great about it: Fantastic visuals, intelligent AI, nice multiplayer mode.
What's not so great: story is a little underdeveloped
"Resistance is undoubtedly one of the best launch titles for the ps3. It showcases a lot of the potential that the ps3 has in terms of graphics (which look really good), and gameplay. The gameplay is rather linear, meaning there are no frustrating puzzles to solve, or other nuisances that may slow down the gameplay. This is a good thing because it gets through the storyline rather quickly. Online multiplayer is also extremely fun, with up to 40 players. Split screen co-op mode is also great. Replay value is very high, since you can unlock new items and weapons after you beat the game.
The only minor issue that I have with the game is that the story isn't really developed in terms of characters, but that really isn't an issue at all."

What's great about it: Great story, great visuals, excellent weapons, fun

"This was the first game I purchased along with my PS3. I wasn't sure what to expect and was VERY satisfied. The gameplay is excellent and exciting. The weapons are simply amazing and fun to use. The online play is just as amazing. Bottomline, a great game to add to your collection."

"This is a great game. The Campaign mode is fun. The graphics are great. The weapons are well made. And the controls are easy to manage.
Online play is fun and addicting. There is Solo, Team, and Team with Objectives. You earn skill points and ranks with your wins and kills. An option that is fun is customizing you character with different suits, helmets. The skill points, ranks, and beating the game gives you more options for customizing.
Overall a great game, a must for PS3 owners"

What's great about it: Great game
"I didnt expect too much from this game because im not a huge fan of first person shooters. I got this game for my girlfriend. But when i played this game, it was like... wow. The graphics are fantastic, gameplay is excelent and smooth, and the storyline is also very good. Havent played online yet but im sure it will but awesome."

"This has been the best game for almost a full year of the PS3 life. With a Solid story and the variety of weapons, this game is a must have for the PS3.
Online is maybe the best thing about the game. Even though it has a solid story being able to kill your friends or just random kids is what makes a day. The problem online is there are many glitches throughout the areas. It also does not help when players intentionally have glitches for their character to win a game.
This game is a must have for PS3 owners even if you are not into shooters."

What's great about it: Online play - always different and exciting!, Can play it 10mins and leave or for 4 hours.
What's not so great: The single player game is average. Nothing to scream like a girl about.
"I've had this game since December of 2006 (purchased from Best Buy). I'm usually not a First Person Shooter type of guy but this turned out to be my favorite game EVER! The game play is very fun. The online play is even better. The purchase price is a steal because I still play this game 10 hours a week almost a year later.
Graphics are very good
Sound is fantastic
New experience every time you play online with others"

"RESISTANCE FALL OF MAN is a very good starter game for the PS3. The story is the best part of the game. It gets you into playing and is very suspenceful, it leaves you wondering what will happen on the next level, and thats what makes this game hard to stop playing. RESISTANCE has great and fun weapons to use through out it like the Lark (basicly a rocket launcher), the Fareye (a sniper rifle), the Arc Charger (a gun that shoots a bolt of lightning at your enemy), and many, many others. My favorite part of RESISTANCE is the Chimera (aliens trying to take over the world), I like to go through the game and look at all the different creatures there are, and each one has its own strengths and weaknesses thats what makes the game so real. There are only two things that I would change about this game, the fact that it is a little short, and the online. But I dont want to talk about whats wrong with it because that souldnt stop you from buying it. This game is great for someone looking for a good first person shooter, and I would recomend it to anyone."

What's great about it: This game has it all
"This is one of the best FPS shooters that i have ever played. The graphics are amazing the enviorments and the creatures are both spectacular. The one player missions are fun and the hidden stuff with keep you playing the game over and over again. Can't forget about the multiplayer either. This game has the ability to have so many players on screen at one time (I believe it's 40) with out any slow down in game play. This is a MUST HAVE for you Playstation 3 library."

"I fight crime on a daily basis. Recently i got into a quarrel with the joker and decided enough is enough. There is only so much a bat can take. I get laughed at, punched, scratched and poked very hard. Being as rich as i am, i have decided to hang up my batsuit in a bat-like fashion ( hanging it upside down on the roof of my batcave, like a bat) and bought a ps3. My first purchase was this game, Resistance: Fall Of Man. It is just like my old life, you can fight the bad guys ( only I get to kill them and i get to use a gun). The story is captivating and is very batty. Bat. Even I , the Batman, got scared of the realistic and horrific enimies. Bat. I gave it a four star because it doesn't let you play as a bat. Otherwise it is an excellent representation of life scenarios in a parallel world of no bats. This was batman, signing off. Bat."

"You must get this game if you own a PS3. Resistance has a fast paced multiplayer that will last a VERY long time. Also, the singleplayer combines their creative weaponry, lush, beautiful, and "futuristic" style to make it all come together. The story is actually really good and it takes place in 1940ish but if WW2 never happened. Throughout the game you go through the compelling story, learning about what happened to you and how the chimera took over. Even when you finish the campaign there is still a lot of replay value by going back and unlocking more weapons like the dual guns and a shock blaster!"

"The reason i bought this game was because of the online play. Up to 40 people at once means all out warfare. And gladly, i was not dissapointed. The online play is the smoothest i have ever seen for any online game. Im talking NO LAG AT ALL. They have several different modes for online including free-for-all, team deathmatch, capture the flag, and many other great ones. The campaign mode is not to bad either. Its actually longer than i thought it would be. OVERALL I LOVE THIS GAME AND IT IS A MUST BUY!!!! WHENS #2 GONNA BE OUT!!!!!"

"As the first game that I purchased for the PS3 when the system was released, I was pleased with the quality of the game. The graphics are good for a first-generation PS3 game and the gameplay plays well. My roommates and I had a lot of fun on the four-player multiplayer and the co-op mode was great too.
Now, months later, I don't play the game as much, but with the online play, I can imagine the replay value would be tremendous if FPS are your cup of tea. Even if you think you've found and done everything, remember to look for those lawn gnomes!"
