And just how do you get behind enemy lines, you ask? Well, it's not called the Airborne Division for nothing — you'll need to survive the airdrop before you can fight your enemies. Experience an interactive, realistic war experience like never before in the Medal of Honor series with Medal of Honor: Vanguard. Whether you're on the shores of Sicily during Operation Husky or inside Nazi Germany during the Operation Varsity airdrop, you'll be fighting the epic battles of WWII as America's first paratroopers. Enjoy stunning visuals on the battlefield as you engage the enemy. Dynamic artificial intelligence dialogue gives you the tactical information you'll need to survive in the war zone. With an innovative control scheme that makes full use of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller, you can airdrop, shoot and throw grenades with ease.

I first tried this with the Wii Zapper (you lose a couple of functions, mostly while paradropping). It played pretty well until a friend came over and destroyed me. He had never played this game. So I tried it without and I had a lot more control. Lesson learned.
What's great about it: decent fps for ww2
What's not so great: your squad members get in your way
I would recommend this to a friend!

This game is awesome thankfully after a few tries the missions are pretty easy. If you have a wii zapper this can be very fun. My favorite part is playing with my family in multiplayer, my dad gets very angry and so do all my friends because they can never win (don't mean to brag)
What's great about it: the fact that you can acctually play multiplayer unlike other games like this
What's not so great: the small size of multiplayer maps
I would recommend this to a friend!

I looked forward to playing this game , but the contols took the fun right out of it. I would much rather play a game like this on my XBOX 360 with better graphics than this. I wish I could get my money back. 1 hour of this game was enough for me. save you money and skip this one
What's great about it: good idea
What's not so great: poor controls
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

the game has a fun storyline but when you try and hit someone your gun points to the sky. I would buy a more modern shooter game for wii because the controls in vanguard need some improvement.
What's great about it: fun gameplay
What's not so great: the controls for the wii need some improvement
I would recommend this to a friend!

You start out falling from the sky into battle as the Medal of Honor series is all about what it would be like to be there, to anticipate battle and then be thrust into it. The parachuting sequences are all too rare, and your ability to control them is all too brief. Vanguard should have been Airborne, a game with more jumping, more jumping controls (like landing), and more consequence to your jump (the missions aren't segmented in order--you're free to complete objectives starting from anywhere, going anywhere whenever you want), but Vanguard is more like any other MOH game with jumping tacked on to the beginning.
It's fun stems from the Wii controls. No matter how beautiful a game is, standing back and controlling your character with dual analog always sucks the immersion out of it. Playing with the wiiremote, and actually pointing and shooting at your enemies puts the immersion back into it.
Wii IR pointer controls almost always suffer from slow turning. Basically there's an invisible bounding box on the screen, when you move your pointer outside the box, it slowly turns your character in that direction. Inside the box you can aim freely without turning. While some people like having free aiming, and thus like a larger bounding box, the larger the box, the harder it is to turn quickly to face enemies that come up behind you (especially important for multiplayer action). The next MOH Wii game, Heroes 2 addresses both of these desires by letting you customize the size of the box to your liking. But Vanguard's one-size-fits-all box is likely to frustrate everyone, those who think it's too big and those who think it's too small. Lack of control customization makes a 4 star title 3 stars.
The about face move is a first for FPS on the Wii, and it's a great addition. With a single motion, it allows you to immediate turn 180 degrees. This ameliorates the slow turning of the controls a little bit, though not completely.
Weapon upgrades are a nice feature, though they are a little hard to come by. Near the end, there's a rifle upgrade that takes sniping to a whole new level, and it's tons of fun to use.
The first time through, you're unlikely to get every single medal available (medal are given for things like never dying on a mission, using all weapons, and marksmanship). So there is replay value in the game by going back and trying to play it perfect.
The game would have been a lot less frustrating if you could save anywhere, or even to save at checkpoints. As it is, you have to complete a mission through and through before your progress is saved. If you ever want to take a break from the game (perhaps to play a different one), but you haven't reached the end of the mission you'll have to replay everything up to that point in the mission. It can be frustrating at times.
Despite those weaknesses, this is one of the best shooters currently on the Wii (until Nov 07 when Heroes 2 comes out), so it's worth a try.
What's great about it: Any FPS gains immersion points from the Wiimote, atmosphere somewhat compelling, the about face move is innovative
What's not so great: Should have been Airborne, controls not tight enough, no mid mission saving
I would recommend this to a friend!

Imerse yourself in the World War ll with the ultra-smooth controls of the Nintendo Wii. This Game fetures one of the Best campain game of All the Medal of Honors. It may be only a 3-4 hour game but it is worth it. You parachute in and take the enemy in a very realistic envirnment. You find weapon upgrades onlong the way. You bash the enemy with a quick jab of the wii remote and aim with its laser directed font. You toss gernades in with a flick of the wrist and reload with another flick of the wrist. This game has integrated the Wii's technology without a flaw. The game's multiplayer is a letdown. It has no options of what class you want to start out as (like in the Medal of Honor: European Assalt). Their are also no upgrades to recieve in the multiplayer mode. But the wii makes it fun in party situations. All you need is three friends and it is a top notch multiplayer game. Overall the game is very well made and you'll spend hours trying to get a of the medals. I highly recomend it.
What's great about it: Amazingly smooth controls
What's not so great: Short Game

Although Medal of Honor Vanguard could have some more gameplay, the gameplay that it does contain is astounding. Formatted with the Wii's controls, the game feels more then ever like you are experiencing rather than playing it. The multiplayer capabilities happen to be quite enjoyable also, whether you want to play an exciting game of capture the flag, or if you want to have a classic deathmatch, it'll serve up some fun. If you get the game Medal of Honor Vanguard, I reccomend starting the campaign on Recruit, you'll find the first half of the game quite easy, but as you advance in the game it gets harder and harder. At the beggining of each set of levels the game has real black and white footage for cutscenes that might actually teach you something about World War II. If you want a good historic first person shooter, I would definitely reccomend getting the game Medal of Honor Vanguard.
