What's great about it: feels like need for speed underground
What's not so great: can't think of any thing
"i personal thing this is a good game. good cars, good feel to the game. it plays like need for speed underground 1 which was a great game. the story is like any normal storyline, you race, win, get cars. graphics are pretty good unless your picky about such a thing. if so get an emulator and make your wii play in 720p to see a lot of graphics for this game. other than that i like it and think its something worth buying ... don't got the money than rent it ..."

What's great about it: Graphics are so lifelike, great tracks and sounds, my favorite "car" game!
What's not so great: Can get confusing to start out.
"Love, love, love this game. It's so lifelike and the effects are great. It can be a little confusing to start up with all the customs but it's worth it in the long run. I looked for a long time for the perfect "car" game and it took a while but I found it!!!! I would def recommend this to anyone who wants a good car game and has the patience during the initial start up!!!!"

Fun racing game

"Need For Speed Carbon is a very fun addittion to the Need for Speed franchise. This game reminds me of Need For Speed Underground 2 because it has downhill drifting that takes place in rural canyons with tight roads and major elevation change. But this game also has super fun police chases like Need for Speed Most Wanted. The only thing I didn't like was that the career mode was very short compared to previous Need for Speed titles. There are still plenty of challenges to keep you busy with this game for quite a while. Overall this is an excellent racing game and the Wii provides a new and uniqiue way of driving the car."

What's great about it: Customizations are endless.
What's not so great: Bosses are hard but in a good way, it makes you try harder or can frustrate you.
"Customization option are endless and you can spend hours just designing cars. The gameplay is very fluent couldn't amagine not having the wheel. Boss Challanges are what a boss challange should be, hard. And the cops dont go quitely once you get enough of them on you."

The wii is a real let-down. Gamecube is better

What's great about it: Custization, graphics, cars
What's not so great: the wii took out the gamecube version
"Need for Speed Carbon is really fun. I have it for the gamecube but now since the wii took over and the gamecube is thrown out, the controls SUCK!
its better using a joystick rather than a wii remote.
the wii kills tons of games and is horrible.
they should at least keep on making the gamecube versions of Need for Speed."

Another Win for NFS!

What's great about it: Police Chases, Wii Wheel Compat., Classic Cars
What's not so great: Lamborghinis, Not as many cars as other consoles, Music's not as good
"Need for Speed follows up it's 'Most Wanted' with 'Carbon' as you return to your hometown to right some wrongs, and clear your good name. While you've been gone Thugs have taken over your streets and you have to beat them to regain control of your own home town. Wreak havoc racing thru traffic, running from 'Tha Man' and slipsliding down dangerous mountain roads.
Carbon picks up after Most Wanted's storyline, and you race rival groups section by section to win cash and occasionally new cars to sell (or upgrade) for cash to upgrade your current car. Ranging from classics such as the Dodge Charger, Shelby GT500 & 69 Camaros, to modern beasts like the Skyline, Lamborghinis and Porches- even some concept designs- there's a car for everyone to love. A NFS staple, visual customization is excellent as always. The Wii version has a few less parts & cars, but is still loads of fun to dazzle your garage with.
Controls vary from more traditional controls using the Nunchuk & the Wiimote, to Steering wheel style control using just the Wiimote (another use for that Wii Wheel too) Just about anyone can pick this title up & play. I do have a couple of complaints. Other NFS soundtracks have had more recognizable songlists, this one is a little scant, and seems to get drowned out during the races with all the chaos going on. They've also removed the Drag Race style of race, while not my favorite, was a fun version to have. The collection of cars is odd- I don't know of any self respecting street racer that would drive a Lambo', not to mention you're expected to drift in said Lambo' too. WTF? Overall it's a great game, and most of my complaints are personal taste issues that may not bother others. Game play itself is pretty flawless. When you get 2 good players together try the Nissan Skyline vs. Shelby GT 500 for a wicked fun dream race.

What's great about it: it was challenging
What's not so great: after you beat the story mode its not very fun
"This was a pretty fun game. It was hard. whenever you finally beat a boss it felt really great because it was so hard. After you beat the story there isn't much to do. Only thing left to do is to race other people."

What's great about it: lots of cars to pick from, exciting races, tons of different combinations for customizing your car, great graphics
What's not so great: hard boss battles, unrealistic police chases
"I got this game along with a wii for christmas, and my whole family loved it!! The turning is very realistic, and there are 5 other control options, so you will find one you like. you can make your car look way sweet with all of the customization options, and, even though the police chases are quite unrealistic, they are still really fun. Another neat feature on this game is that you can knock down water towers, parts of buildings, and huge statues on the police and on you opponents. The one frustrating thing is on the boss battles, where you can't do anything to disrupt their driving, but they can push you around all they want. Overall, this totally worth buying, and it is one of the best games for the wii."

What's great about it: different control scheme
What's not so great: different control scheme
"Alright, I'll admit I was a little disappointed when I bought this game. The control idea is excellent. However, I often found myself nearly breaking my wrists trying to get the car to turn. As for a racing game, this is definitely worthy of a purchase by any racing fan."

Great Game

What's great about it: Awesome graphics, sound, music, gameplay and customization options
What's not so great: No online play
"As a PC gamer, I have never owned a racing game in my life until my wife and I wanted to get our first game for our new Wii. Need for Speed: Carbon was a great price and I have heard good things about the Need for Speed games and we decided to give it a shot. This game is so much fun to play and has so many options and race modes to choose from. My favorite mode is Career Free Roam because you can cruise around the city and race whoever challenges you or jump to a Career race when you're ready. It's a great way to master your racing skills. There are so many unlockable items that this game will have you playing for hours and hours. The car customizations are amazing and autosculpt is different than I expected, but still an awesome way to modify your ride. 2-player races are fun and competitive, but online play would have made this game outstanding. I totally recommend this game. It is great."

Fun Racing Game

What's great about it: Love the control setup
What's not so great: Not good enough 2 player options
"I got this game for my husband because it was only 29.99 as opposed to the 49.99 for the new NFS title. We hadn't tried a racing game on the WII yet. I'm not disapointed. My husband likes the control using the Wii Mote like a steering wheel and I like using the Nunchuk to steer and the Wii-mote for speed and braking. The strory is okay but who really cares. I want to race. There are sections on races where you can actually fall off cliffs which is annoying an nice that its at least that realistic. Keep in mind it takes a bit to get used to the controls no matter what you choose. Plus no matter what the review says you can race 2 player. The problem with that is you can only used the saved cars from one player. You'd think since everyones games are stored on the same drive that you could use both. But oh well that's a minor complaint."

Best Put As...Fun

"Need for Speed Carbon is a great game. Although it may take a while to get used to the sensitivity and controls, once you do get used to it you will be having fun. With a sweet territory control system you have to race to win over the city and get cash to to upgrade your car. The controls are simple but difficult at the same time, I think the most people struggle with in this game is not understanding how sensitive the Wii remote is. People just dont seem to understand that if you turn the remote too much your car WILL start doing some funky stuff that you didnt mean for it to do. So if you get this game and your having trouble steering your car to victory, just calm down and stop being so strong with your movements."
