What's great about it: Easy to set up, good sound, connects to tv or computers
"It's a good set of surround sound speakers for the price of $104. I use them with an xbox 360 and a mac book pro and I'm very satisfied. The cables are short so buying some extensions could be necessary if you would want to spread the speakers out."

What's great about it: the incredible surround sound
What's not so great: a pitch sound
"It took me a while to figure out the set up, since I'm using them for my TV, but when I finally did OMG the sound that came out of these small speakers were incredible, I'm really impressed. My only problem now is that pitch sound coming out them I don't know what's causing it, but overall I'm satisfied."

"This is an excellent step up from the previous speaker system I used. Before I had a regular stereo set up and connected to the PC via a Y cable. These speakers deliver incredible sound. The bass sounds true to pitch and doesn't sound bumpy and cheap. The high tones are great. The only thing about these speakers that are not near perfect is the sound quality when playing games. Voices tend to be washed out by other sounds. I have played a dozen or better different games. Unless they support surround sound the characters voices are difficult to hear over SFX and background music. The only way to correct this is to make your sound card software output 2.1 channel sound and leaving the matrix mode off."

What's great about it: Sounds great, long wires (for me) swivel bases
"I've been looking at these speakers for a few weeks now. Watching and reading reviews had majority good things coming out of this set with the occasional "don't buy these" reviews added in. Nevertheless, I wanted them so I got them. Had a coupon anyway. I am satisfied with the purchase. Of course you're not going to get the sound quality of a $300+ system but the X-540's are not a light competitor either. I was surprised just how good this system sounds. Setup was easy, took longer to unpack everything than it did to set up. I went into Google and searched for "5.1 surround sound tests" and sure enough they work like a charm. I do not know how this system sounds on integrated audio chips as I am using an X-Fi sound card but either way, for a computer, this system is more than adequate. Fills the room (and most of the house) with great sounding music and the occasional gunfire and explosions from Call of Duty. Also found some truth in a review I saw....."The higher you turn the volume up, the better it sounds" haven't run into any distortion. I am one that does extensive review searches and this is a purchase that I do not regret making."

What's great about it: LCD mounted center channel speaker
What's not so great: wired remote
"First day of use has shown good sound quality. I primarily use use these for music while I work, work from home. The subwoofer is not super huge, the center channel speaker mounts to the top of my LCD and both are out of the way. The speaker stands swivel to allow for desk top or wall mounting, awesome. The rear speakers have long wires for a computer application, the fronts not so much.
My only complaint is that the remote, while having VERY nice adjustment options and a matrix option to create surround sound when not avail, has a wire, wireless would be so much nicer.
true 5.1 (with a 5.1 or better sound card, for $110 is a great deal, period."

"If you are looking for an inexpensive and great sounding surround sound for your television or computer, you just found it. I have this product connected to my 26 inch television in a large bedroom.
The sound is great. It makes movies come alive. I like my movies loud but still do not use full volume. It sounds almost as good as my more expensive 7.1 surround sound in the living area.
If you want a surround sound that is inexpensive and great value for the money buy this product.
I reccommend you buy speaker extension cables if you want the true surround sound experience. The cables are too short to reach across the room. all in all, still a great value. buy it and you too will be happy."

What's not so great: If I really had to be picky if it was wireless speakers i would love it even more!
"I purchased the system for one of the desktop computer I have and having had other sound systems and comparing them this as turned out to be a very wise choice. Full sound doesn't sound tinny very good base and speaker speration. If you have a good quality sound card you will love what the system can do."

What's not so great: rear speakers have horrible mids and highs, distorts
"Compared to stock, this speaker system is excellent. A deep bass fills the room for music and entertainment. CoD: MW2 has never been so realistic with explosions shaking the room. When playing music I have noticed the rear speakers have a distortion to them and horrible quality when it comes to playing mids and highs. Overall, I highly love this item. For the price, nothing beats Logitech."

What's great about it: Sound quality, price, versitily.
What's not so great: Cord length and volume control is not wireless.
"I purchased this system as a surround sound system to use with my projector. I watch movies and play games via my Xbox 360. I didn't need a system that could be heard down the road. I just wanted good, basic sound as my projector has none. I didn’t want to spend more than $90. With that being said, it is far better than I had expected from computer speakers. I mounted the front 3 speakers to the wall under the projected image and the rear speakers to the ceiling behind the couch. The mounting was easy and affective, but the single notch mounting system feels cheap(especially for mounting on the ceiling). The front center speaker does not have a mounting notch of any kind, so I had to drill holes in the base of it with a drill press to get it mounted on the wall. Also I have the subwoofer about 20 feet from the wall where I project my image, so the cords were nowhere near the length I needed. No problem though, I purchased extra RCA cables and adapters. Those issues with the fact that the remote is not wireless, making the placement of the remote awkward, I had to give the compatibility a 4 star rating(I would say it’s more like a 4.5). I suppose I'm being bias as I am using the system a bit outside of its intended use. If I were to use it on a computer desk I would be blown away for sure. This system overall is perfect for a small environment. I would not recommend it for anything bigger than your average living room. Although my basement is 1000 square feet and you can hear it clearly throughout the basement at a medium volume. Not just where the sound is playing. I got this system on sale for $74.99 so it was within my budget. However, after hearing it set up in my basement, I would definitely have paid the $105 it is going for now. On a weird side note, it sounds better when I am gaming than when I am watching a movie. By no means a bad thing, just an observation."

"These speakers are amazing. They sound great, look great. The only problem i had were the speaker cords were a little short and the 3 audio jacks were not compatible with my sound card for my computer as mine only has one. But besides that they are worth the money and it sounds amanzing."

"I got these speakers for christmas and I love them! These speakers sound so good. My sister has a Bose surround sound system and these speakers sound just as good or even better! I looked around for a long time at surround sound speakers and finally decided I would give these a try. I am so impressed with them! The only thing I had a problem with was the cord length for the speakers. Some of the cords are a bit short(not all the speaker cables are the same length) but I still figured out a good place to put them all. I would highly recommend these speakers!"

"Crank up the volume and boom there goes the music out.
It can make you deaf but it's fun to listen to it hard. Vietnamese music sounds very good on it. I like the black layout of the speakers and they look very good hanging on the walls. I wish I had a sound card that can take full capability of these speakers 5.1 surround sound. It still sounds great with both front speakers and the matrix mode make movies better than digital cable sound. I would not even give it up for those Bose speakers which are over rated. Logitech is the only brand I get when it comes to computer accessories. Buy it and you will not regret it. Good sleep to the sounds of good sound making."

"I stood in the store turning this system on and off between the other one they had around the same price. Not only did this one sound great but it sounds even better at home. The bass sounds awesome!!!!!. Could easily use this system for at home movie watching with how well and loud this system sounds. I would recommend this product to anyone trying to upgrade their computer's sound capability for a reasonable price."

"I just purchased this 6-piece Logitech X-540 Multimedia Surround Sound Speaker System for my PC. It was on sale for $74.99, which is $30.00 off the regular retail price. I was in store comparing this product with Logitech's 3-piece Z313 2.1-Channel Speaker System. The sound difference was overwhelming. The X-540 produces excellent sound quality. The subwoofer produces very deep bass. When I got home and played some music after setting up the system, my eyes were opened wide with surprise. I don't see how anyone could find anything wrong with this speaker systems unless u are downgrading from Bose!!!!!"
