What's great about it: Easy setup, awesome price for what you get
What's not so great: The wires could def. be a little longer

"Just hooked this thing up, it sounds amazing. The only downside I have found so far is that the wires are a little to short. Even the wires for the front speakers I can barely even reach to hook them up without putting to much stress on them. Also if you have a corner desk like I do it could be a little pain to get them hooked up right. Overall awesome product, highly recommended for the price."

What's great about it: sound, bass, everything

"this system is a good bet for such a price i mean you can use these speakers with ur laptop and have a small party the bass is very loud and the sound is very crisp, the speakers makes the whole room shake with its powerful blast i had it since sept 2008 and havent had a problem yet"

"This is the best sound system i have ever had. the bass is is the best part. it makes the windows rattel. they sound better than my $1200 prostudio 600 watt system which has a 12 inch bass speaker."

What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Nothing

"Sound quality, build quality, wired remote and great, classic Logitech appeal make this set worth every penny. It can take everything you throw at it. Don't settle for the "MATRIX" mode though, do yourself a favor and setup your sound card and your DVD/MP3/CD programs to decode into 5.1 channels, the difference between "MATRIX" mode and true 5.1 surround playback are like night and day. The LCD/CRT center speaker "clip-on" idea is cool, when you first clip it on you might not be so trusting of it to stay, like I was at first, but I've taken my whole desk and my LCD and shaken them both individually pretty hard to see if it would come loose but I know now that it's not going anywhere!"

What's great about it: Easy to set up, great for the money
What's not so great: crackling noise with low quality sound files

"I bought this on impulse last weekend. I went in looking for a new headset and came out with these instead. Great value for the money. The speakers sound so much better than the free speakers that came with my pc.

I have had these speakers for several days now and the only issue that I have had with them is a crackling noise when I play lower quality audio files such as low quality mp3 files or some streaming audio such as lower bandwidth streams. With high quality files and audio streams this crackling is not an issue."

What's great about it: Great value, fantastic sound, easy setup, sturdy construction
What's not so great: Short cables

"This is a fantastic value, especially at a sale price, but even still at full retail price. The setup is a breeze and all the cables are color-coded for extra convenience (unlike some cheaper systems). Sound quality is full and hits all the tones for a smallish sized room (dorm room, bedroom, etc.). Woofer puts out more bass than I anticipated based on its size. Only problem I've encountered is the fairly short cables for connecting the speakers. This can be solved using RCA extension cables, but in small rooms this isn't necessarily a problem anyway. It really is a great system for it's price and I've had no complaints so far after 3 months of constant usage with movies and music. Highly recommended."

What's great about it: Great range. more than adequate for a single pc user
What's not so great: removed the stands? no microphone port on the front control thing? i dunno not much that i can think of

"I game alot. I use headphones; very good headphones (very). The only reason I bought speakers is because my built in monitor speakers blew (which were only used for music and crowd pleasing), I went in not expecting much for a ~100$ set of speakers. tbh i was trying to get the logitech z2300 2.1 thx speakers but they were sold out. Alas, after fine tuning these I was amazed. I wasn't at all expecting what i felt from a 6.5x6.5x11inch sub enclosure with a 5.5inch driver. The 10 speakers that surround you do their part very very well, as well. I don't at all regret purchasing these, and i bought them not at all expecting what i got out of em. i recommend."

What's great about it: Its 5.1, the middle speaker clamps on to your LCD display. VERY good for the price!
What's not so great: The Rear speakers are a little "soft", but they make a big difference.

"These speakers are great, you get full 5.1 surround sound experience. You also get tons of bass. What was pretty cool to me was that there is a button on the control pad that says 'matrix mode' witch allows you to take that normal 2.1 channel and converts it into a 5.1 surround! Don't judge these great speakers on how loud or soft the rear speakers, because if you know anything about surround sound, the rear speakers generally run softer than the front speakers. Also these speakers are amazing when I'm gaming. I'm listening to them right now on itunes, they sound great!

Also if your getting these speakers for your computer you might want to buy a 5.1 sound card to go along with them, it makes the sound quality a lot better. But don't spend too much on a sound card.

"I was looking for speakers for my 3g iphone just to add to what I already had. Had read about these speakers sometime ago. Went browsing to see what Bestbuy had today and thought of speakers. Checked out a few and saw these for $104 and said they weren't gonna be great but I'll listen to them just to see what sound I would get and bing-bam, I wasnt expecting what I heard. So I bought them. Got the little system home and plugged in and now I'm satisfied with this purchase.
Dont know what others are talking about the rear speakers dont work. For one they're rear surround speakers so they wont work like the front speakers and if you want them on all of the time, turn your matrix on and it will deliver sound from the rear speakers. Anyway all-in-all, they're a good buy."

What's not so great: could'nt figure it out how the get the sound to come out the rear and center speakers.

"the sysytemn was very easy to setup. the price is right for sound and what you could hook it to. i hook it up to my playstation 3. now i can hear see what i'm whats all about when to playing games and watching movies.
It took awhile to find out how to get the sound to come threw the center and rear speakers. once i found out by using the matrix on the controler
sound was awsome. I hope this helps any one who looking to save money on a theater 5.1 system."

What's great about it: Center speaker clips onto LCDs, price
What's not so great: Rear speakers can barely be heard - so you are not getting the full 5.1 experience.

"I read some good reviews about this setup and for the price I thought it would be a good deal. When I got home and set it up I could barely hear sound from the rear speakers, they were about 10% of the volume of my front/center ones. I know it wasn't my soundcard (I tested it with an old 5.1 setup to make sure). My second set also had this issue, so I gave up. Searching the internet turned up others who had this issue, and Logitech no longer supports this setup. I have always been satisfied with Logitech, but this setup appears to be an exception. Maybe thats why they are so cheap. I ended up spending a little more for the G51 and couldn't be happier. So I suggest either finding another brand or forking out the extra money for the G51."

What's great about it: Sound great, look good, easy to setup. Great setup for the price.
What's not so great: Sub speaker is on the outside bottom with no cover, almost put my fingers through it taking it out of the box.

"My old Logitech Z-640 5.1 speakers died after a good 5 years of rock n' roll and hardcore gaming. I miss them. I shop'ed around and in these hard times, I went for this setup. Price was a big factor and I knew I could count on Logitech to deliver on performance. Sound is AWSOME! I took my sweet time setting up my surround sound speakers with extreme detail to hearing height and cable management. Nice job Logitech. Once again, I'm a fan all over again. Thanks!"

"All I can say is WOW, I bought these speakers two days ago because I replaced my previous set of Creative Inspire 5.1 surround speakers with the Logitec X540s. These speakers are amazing. As I am typing this I'm listening to the Beach Boys, and the sound is incredible. They're way better than the Inspires. Crystal clear. WAY TO GO LOGITEC!!!!! Fantastic!!!!!!"

"I just got this system for christmas and it hasn't let me down! I was in the market for a speaker system that had a nice sound, and for a not so astronomical price. I came upon this system and I must say I was a tad skeptical. My grandparents bought it for me, and I immediately hooked it up to my iPod and I was WOWED! The sound just blew me away! The bass has a nice punch to it, with the center and front right/left speakers carrying good treble. The "Rear" right/left speakers sounded a bit softer than the others, but that's probably because they're all by their lonesome. I would definitely recommend this to anybody, because it's affordable, excellent quality (build), and premium sound!"

"I've read some undeserving bad reviews about this set so I was some what skeptical about buying. When these went on sale, I figured I'd give 'em a shot cuz they were reasonably priced. I should have bought these a LONG time ago. These rival the bose system in my car. The bass could be a little better. I used to install car stereo systems and I'd always put in Michael Jacksons "Billy Jean" to test the system cuz of all the different bass notes in that song. This system did OK on it, not exceptional, but OK. But every things else sounds amazing which is why I gave them 5 stars. If you are comparing/shopping around for a set in this price range, quit looking around and just buy these."

What's great about it: Clear sound, nice bass in the sub, great color, love the dual cone for each speaker, great for gamers
What's not so great: Cords for the rear speackers could be little longer for bigger rooms but nothing that cant be fixed for a few extra $

"If you are looking into sound seystems for your game room or just great sound seystem for your computer i would recommend this great logitech seystem. The sound is actually way better than what i expected for the price. You could add another 20 to 30 dollars and it would still be worth the buy. These are definetly not something you would be wasting your time or money on really remarcable good job logitech!!!"
