What's great about it: the city is HUGE and there are so many things to do What's not so great: some missions are too easy.
"I Have completed the game and I am still playing it. find myself sitting down to play and after each mission saying "oh just one more" (this can happen for HOURS). Love the game and think everyone should own a copy."

"The game is really fun to play. My brother had a copy with a scratch on it and my xbox wouldnt read it. Finally after several attempts i went to best buy and bought my own. After using it for a day i got the red rings of death meaning my xbox has officially died. Its your choice to take the risk, will it work or destroy your 300 dollar console, assuming you have the cheap one"

"Its a great game overall. Improved graphics, even though I've not played previous ones other than gta on psp. Niko is a very likeable main character. Very in depth game as it comes from rockstar games. This game is rated M violence, etc. Not recommended for children, but kids tend to get this games because their parents either are too dumb to check esrb or w/e. I actually got bored after a while. I got it because of the hype. My mom was disappointed with me getting it, so that added to me not playing. I tried connection to mp (multiplayer) but it wouldn't allow me. Overall, good experience, anyone over age of 18 that likes sandbox games get it."

"this is yet another GTA game comparable to past GTA games. the graphics are by far the best of the series and they did take a more realistic approach on driving, shooting than previous games. the game in my opinion was not worth the origional $60 price tag due to lack of diversions out side of the main mission unlike saints row. the game does support trophies which does add some replay value but there seems to be a few things lacking compared to the previous san andreas such as vehicle customization, working out to get bigger and stronger, the need to eat but not over eat. some of the features that made the last game stand out are missing which kind of takes away from the fun of it (working out was not fun, but getting bigger and dual wielding sawed off shot guns and making your car look different were neat aspects) they have dating in the game which is more of a pain than anything, dealing with all the personal relationships in the game to keep everyone happy. i personally found it annoying to have to stop game progress to take everyone out on a "date" so they continue to like you and give you their help/bonuses in the game. all in all they went forward in the series while taking a few steps back, maybe the next GTA game will hit the nail on the head (or score a bullseye for those who play darts in the game). they added dart, pool, and bowling as a diversion, the games are not great but it is something to do outside of the missions and they have trophies associated with them as well. all in all a good game for the $40 right now"

"Though this may not be the most in depth game that I have ever played, it is probably the best GTA that I have ever played. There are more than a couple reasons that I say this, but let's start with the bad... + 1.) The Vehicle Handling - The worst thing about this game in my opinion is how the vehicles are controlled. There are only a very select few cars that I am willing to cruise around in throughout the game because of the poor handling! That is probably just personal preference however. + 2.) Still working on finding this one! + Now, onto the good stuff... + 1.) Niko - The main character is so much better than that of the previous GTA "heroes". He doesn't have that, "I'm CJ *****" attitude, he isn't completely silent, and he isn't convinced that he is the king of the world. Really laid back and only seldom does he spout off some pointless quip. + 2.) The Map - Though I was a big fan of Vice City's map, I have to say that thus far I am enjoying the new Liberty City more. This could just be because of the massive dissapointment they offered up in San Andreas (what a stinker!!!) + 3.) The Minimal, but sufficient customization - I want to start by saying that I am a character customization "NUTZOID", but I found all the different systems that were offered in San Andreas to be neat, but for the most part dead-end wastes of time. GTA isn't really about being this custom character, it's about playing out the story that is in front of you, and besides, you can change up your clothing however you wish and you can still obtain certain properties! That is really good enough, in my opinion, for this game. + 4.) The missions - So far, what I have played, this game is pretty fun. It offers up some fun missions that aren't impossible, but that aren't just a walk in the park. It seems like the faster that you complete the mission the easier it is (once you have played a while you'll know what I'm talking about). + 5.) The Combat - There is a new and vastly improved hand-to-hand fighting system. This new system allows you to punch, kick, block and even disarm your opponent! Also, when wielding a weapon, you can blindfire around corners, and even use cover. + All of that just begins to cover the things that I have found better about this game than the previously released versions! Overall, this is a great game, I would suggest it to any gamer, especially fans of the GTA series!"

"I respect the people that give this game very good scores just that for me is just not that great i played like 5 hours and i simply don´t like it , the controls feel bad, graphics are not that good , music is good and story was building quite interesting but that is about it , i may be one of those few that dont like this type of games .

"I truely do not see why people rave about this game so much I think it is very boring. Trust me I like GTA I am not a peson against it, but this game is not to fun. First of all the story is very boring and has no appeal, I found myself skipping the cutscenes after I got tired of it. Also, the begining is a way to lose gamers, because all you do is drive people around you don't even get a gun! Plus, to run tapping A is very annoying. Next, controling the cars is bad enough its a pain. Another thing I don't understand is why people talk about the graphics the character models look horrible, the only good looking stuff would be the city. Finally the health system and missions are poorly done. The missions are boring and the finding stands to gain health are a pain to find. Sad to say GTA4 is just flat out bad, if you want an fun open world game check out the Saints Row series you will find more fun in those games."

"GTA IV is a stellar game. It improves upon past games in the series in nearly every aspect. Things of note: this game is a great game to play on a bad weather day, you can sit and play for several hours without getting bored, the missions stay interesting and in the city there is plenty to do. If you have any friends that have the game, I recommend that if you know anyone with the game take the opportunity to play the multiplayer game modes. The multiplayer is what gives this game replay ability after you have beat the game there is def. no problem going back and destroying the city with your friends and then running from the cops. The downfalls of this game are few and far in between, the city is smaller than San Andreas and the police are a bit easier to get rid of. Additionally, for fans who love to customize their character this isn’t as friendly. You can change your outfit and go to the different stores and find clothes that fit your style but anything else is standard. Other than that it is nearly flawless. With that being said I would recommend this game to anybody that loves to blow things up, run from cops, and cause mass chaos in this New York City look alike."
