What's great about it: The features are AWESOME!!!!
What's not so great: Not really meant to be an MP3 player - limited space
"This GPS is FANTASTIC!!! I had to go out of state for 6 months for work and it required me to drive around a lot. This GPS kept me on track constantly. LOVE the feature that it tells you the streetname. The bluetooth capability is AWESOME! I have an auxiliary jack in my car that I could plug my iPod into, and when connected to the GPS, I could hear my phone calls through the cars speakers. It also has a feature that lets you choose how your traveling..by auto/motorcycle, boat, pedestrian, etc.... so when I want to go jogging I can take the unit and customize it to that. This GPS is TOTALLY worth the money. The only thing that I could say negative was that the unit does not have lots of memory storage to put tons of music on it as an MP3 player, however it does have options for memory cards and of course its main function is for GPS. I recommend this unit to everyone!!"

Works great for us

What's great about it: It's giv's voice direction by street name .
What's not so great: Take to long to start when i switch it on.
"I use the Garmin C-320 model for my business for three years it works great for me. but when it's com to my wife it's all different story she just cant tell the different between .2 mile to 2 mile . so I decide to get her the nuvi 360 because it actually direct us turn by turn by saying the street name. I also like the graphic very easy to understand and very user friendly. It's also come with blue tooth hands free speaker phone, and mp3 player that I yet haven't use but it's good to have. Another option it have is a live traffic alert future to use it Ifound out I need to buy a receiver to hook up to the device may be one day I'll get one. I really liked that case it came with some time we don't want to leave it in the car and like to carry it with us the case make it easy for us. How ever I found to things are not so great about this device . First it's pronounce some of the street names wrong, no big deal we still can understand it an even jock about it . The second thing it's take a little to long to start every time we try to turn it on."

Good Little Unit

What's great about it: most things
What's not so great: not very loud
"This is a great little product. It works well right out of the box, but consumers have the option of getting updated maps (sometimes, if necessary). It has a well lit, large font display. You still have to generally know where you're going to get to your destination, but it usually gets you to your destination without problems. My only complaint is that the onboard sound is not loud enough, at least for me. the video is good enough that you dont really need sound anyway. I liked this unit (and brand) so much that I bought 6 more (nuvi 205s) for work trucks and One more (nuvi 255w) for my wife for christmas."

What's great about it: Easy to use - don't even need to use the manual
"I got one of these as a gift and initially was going to return it. I'm so glad I didn't. This thing is so easy to use. ust plug it in and the touch screen is easy to use. Locate places (shopping, restaurants, etc.) and then get verbal turn by turn directions. I don't know what else to say except this is a remarkable product."

What's great about it: All the extra features make it the best
What's not so great: The size of the unit, i would have liked it if they made this model with a wide screen
"I bought this unit about a month ago, and it has proven itself very usefull. I do a lot of traveling around the the state and it's hard trying to read the thomas guide while driving so i bought this unit. The extra features are what make it superbe product!"

Decent GPS

What's great about it: Works well
What's not so great: Have to have the antenna up, not very loud
"This is a pretty alright GPS. Then again I'm pretty picky. Its nice that it is so thin, but it compromised speed (it takes a while to turn on) and user friendliness. But it's pretty cool i guess. Remember to keep the antenna up or it wont work otherwise. Props for Best Buy for keeping a low price on it."

What's great about it: I never get lost anymore
What's not so great: Sometimes it takes awhile to pick up sattelites
"If this thing had voice recognition & knew when there was heavy traffic it would rate a 5 star. The system does quite well though and is a must have if you travel to new places. I am going to buy another one for each car."

What's great about it: It has never gotten me lost
What's not so great: I would like updates on the maps for new stores etc, wish it would provide some type of alternate route info
"I have used this for years now. Very durable. Automatically recalculates if you select a different route on your own but wish I could avoid a road if I want an alternate route before I ventured out. It would be nice to get free map updates for new stores. There are plenty of stores it does not know about. It is easy to use and will always get you home or where you are going. I give it a "good" rating."

Nuvi saved our trip!
10/20/2008
By bluewolf9

What's great about it: Connects even in the middle of nowhere! Portable, nice options.
What's not so great: Cannot see the MPH and compass when using the directions feature, only the map.
"There we were, in the middle of nowhere Georgia, leaving what was an unpleasant stay in a hurry. We took a wrong turn, and found ourselves on red dirt roads like "John's road" unsure of where to turn, without a limitless gas supply. The Garmon gave us accurate directions down to each dirt road we were on. It saved our day for sure! I like the text to speech directions, the speedometer and compass when using map mode. I do not like that you lose those two features when using the directions mode. It took a little playing with the device to figure out you have to click on other buttons to see what is next on your journey, but after messing with it awhile we discovered different direction settings (Fastest, shortest, etc), the ability to see the next several steps in your journey, and more! The only thing bad about using a gps is if you follow it literally on the highway, you can find yourself going the wrong way at times. Sometimes it says "keep right on I90" but it really means stay on 90, and use your EYES. That "right" was actually just a lane change, etc. Nothing beats using your brain (well, for most of us), but in conjunction with senses, it is an extremely handy tool. The prices have come down so much it is very affordable as well. For people with issues seeing smaller screens you may want to go with the W (wide) series for a slightly larger view, but I had no problems with it. Being able to pop in an SD card loaded with every topo map in the country and take it on the trail is handy too!"

Don't leave home without it.

What's great about it: Ease of use, accuracy.
What's not so great: None so far
"I bought this GPS for a trip from NJ to Virginia. I simply plugged in my destination, and that was all there was to it. The GPS performed just the way I expected, and for a change my wife and I didn't fight over inconsistent map directions or missed turns. The ability to plan ahead for fuel and food stops is a big advantage. You never have to wonder where the next gas station is, it tells you to the second. It's great to be able to pinpoint restaurants and attractions with just the touch of the screen. No more wading through brochures and tedious map reading. It's a real secure feeling to just type in the address and push go, it removes almost all of the stress from a road trip. I highly recommend a GPS. Use it once and you'll never leave home without it."

What's great about it: Easy to use, Portable
What's not so great: Cost for updates, No prefered route option
"I would recommend this product to everyone that doesn't have one. The pros outnumber the cons 10 to 1. I have had mine for over a year and simply luv it. The cost of updates is a little steep and probably only needs to be done every other year instead of the recommended once a year (unless your in an area where new streets are being built everywhere). It will get you from point A to point B but may not take you the most desirerable route. I have all my kids friends addresses and sport locations loaded into "favorites" which makes remembering all those addresses unnecessary."

Great little navigator

What's great about it: Easy to use, decent directions, good extras
What's not so great: Stopped working after a lightning storm, extras finicky at times
"Can't say enough good things about this little life-saver. We were driving to the Outerbanks from NJ, and missed a turn in Delaware that an online map site gave us. Well, I remembered that I had my Nuvi with me, powered it up, and it got me right on track again in no time. The attraction, gas, food, hotel, etc. finder is a nice feature, although it definitely misses places sometimes. Also, after driving through a lightning storm one night, it stopped working. But I called up Garmin, and sent it back for a new one, no problems."

Garmin's winning line
09/15/2008
By BobRod

What's great about it: Small (easy to travel with), versatile, easy to use
What's not so great: Some features (eg: changing volume on the fly) are difficult to use while using the nav system
"The Garmin Nuvi line is a very convenient, easy to use navigator system. This is a far better solution that paying for integrated nav systems because it is so portable -- take it along on trips that do not involve your own car just once and you will understand. While I do not use its phone/address book/MP3 player features, others do and there is certainly good value in an all-in-one system. Of the things that I do not like, it is difficult to mute or lower the volume while in the trip mode. It is also a bit of a hassle to go to set up (rather than being able to toggle back and forth) to change between "fastest" and "shortest distance" trip directions. Overall, a good value on a good product."
