What's not so great: the small peices that connect the speakers to the head piece break easily.. too much cable.. design could use updating..

What's great about it: surround sound in the headset, great mic, adjustable, versatiliy
What's not so great: Lot of extra wire, headpieces hurt ears after awhile

"Very versatile headset for pc and consoles, great price for what you are getting, you can hear everything in the game from drops of water from an over head pipe to someone sneaking around a corner.

in my experience after gaming for awhile the earpieces tend to hurt my ears though I am not sure why, maybe the compression.

all in all its an excellent headset and worth the price."

What's great about it: Talking is crisp, easy to hear. Great bass sounds. Blocks all unwanted sounds.
What's not so great: Ears get hot, can't hear self through headphones.

What's great about it: The Price
What's not so great: A lot of wires and I mean a lot!!! Also you have to buy additional equipment if you plan on playing with an HDMI cord.

"Overall these are awesome! But there are way too many wires coming from this thing. I would recommend spending a little more money and getting the wireless X31's. They will look a lot nicer if you plan on leaving them out all the time. Also if you plan on playing in HD you will have to buy the converter from Microsoft for the audio to work, which is $50 but they neglect to tell you that. Do a little research on them before you buy them."

"Very happy with my purchase. These headphones are a great value, are very comfortable to wear of hours and make will improve your game play on MW2. Now I am able to play the game at the listening level I want to play at without making the family mad!!
The cords are plenty long for my set-up. Alittle hard to hook up with the HDMI connection being used on the Xbox..."

What's great about it: Wired, Hear Everything, It's like surround sound for one person, and extremely good price for the quality

"This is probably the best thing i have ever bought for my 360, besides games and chargeable controllers. For $60, it's almost like stealing! The sound quality on these are absolutely amazing! Normally, if I was playing Modern Warfare 2, I could hear somebody moving around me, but there was little or no sense of direction. With these, I can tell exactly where enemies are coming from. No more losing 1v1's or losing a Search and Destroy match for your team. The one and only downside I could find (and trust me, I tried to find some) was that there were tons of wires. Most of them are connecting your xbox and your tv, but there's one really long cord going to your controller. But don't worry, this cord is plenty long, and you'll have tons of space to move around. But there were two goodsides about the wires: 1.No batteries! The X31's use batteries like crazy, and it gets annoying having to change them every other day. With this, you'll have no more changing batteries because of the really long cord. 2.No disconnecting mics, unless your cord falls out or you accidentally pull it out. With the X31's, if someone walks inbetween you and the reciever-thingy, the mic disconnects. But with the X1's, no disconnecting. I would highly recommend these for any hardcore gamer who doesn't want to spend hundreds of dollars."

What's not so great: Quality - Breaks in less than 6 months

"I bought this to replace my headset that came with my 360.

For the first few months I have nothing but positive things to say about the product. It worked as designed by providing me the ability to listen to in game sound at the same time being able to communicate and chat with friends.

About 5 months into using these the connector from the controller to the headset died. Since the replacement parts are not carried in the stores you need to order directly from Turttle Beach. I thought I rather spend $5 on a replacement part then a new headset. The problem is they charge $10-15 for shipping a small part that is light weight.

Now in month 7 I need to order more parts.

I refuse to sink more money into this set. If BB stores carried the parts I would have less of an issue but since they don't I will not be spending any more on this cheap set.

They are also not comfortable if worn for long sessions of gaming. I would recommend buying another brand and paying for a more expensive set."

What's great about it: the thing i like most about this headset is that its not wireless so i dont have to waste money on batteries!!
What's not so great: most of it is made or really cheap plastic and i've broken the ear peices off before and the cord is that great quality

What's great about it: Great Price

"These Headphones provide great sound, I use them daily. The simulated surround sound is amazing, great for action movies. I play a ton of Call of Duty, whether its COD:4MW, COD:WaW, or COD:MW2. I am always gaming, but my room mate complained that I was too loud. So I picked up these headphones and he has been resting peacefully ever since. The wires can be annoying at times but its better than having to plug in an extra ac power pack. My multi outlet is already junked up from my printer, pc, tv, cable box, and tv. Yeah my tv is pretty much my main media outlet. So the fact that I can use these headphones on my pc and my Xbox 360 without disturbing someone is great. They are very comfortable except for the fact that I wear glasses. Sometimes my head will get sore after wearing them for awhile, but other than that no complaints."

What's great about it: It has a way to turn up the voices with out turning up the game sound. two swiches.
What's not so great: the need for a USB plug in makes more wires and a bit of a problem for far away use.

"I use my head set for Xbox live works great sound, Comfortable, easy to use to. it alows sound from the game in to the head set by a wire conted to the sound wires to the tv. and also it alows u to hear other players in Xbox live and talk back with out them hereing music or noise from the game that's comeing from the head set its self. over all very happy with it. but if u sit far from ur tv or Xbox DO NOT GET. I would look at the wireless verson more money but no wire to wrory about."

"Don't buy any other headset.......really! This headset has the best sound and mic quality. Don't buy the more expensive wireless headset - it's a waste of money. from the moment I put these on - I don't game without them now. I used to think my TV had great sound - was I ever wrong!

"Bought these when I purchased CoD MW2 and have had no complaints about them at all! They are comfortable for hours on end and have amazing sound. Well worth the $60 price. The cord is 18 feet long so you are not tied to being close to the 360 or the TV."

"RUN, do not walk, but RUN AWAY from anything Turtle Beach. These headphones are NO exception.

The sound that comes thru these headphones is of the poorest quality. They say they enhanced it by adding a bass boost. Problem is that it was at the sacrifice of all other sounds. Everything is muddied or muffled. Think you might use these to listen to music? Think again. CDs straight from the X Box sound like a poor quality MP3 being streamed from the internet. I tried listening to Last FM and it was worse.

Why anyone would even listen to such poor sound is beyond me. I've worked in audio all my life, and if I could have listened to these before I bought them I would have put them down and laugh at the price. The quality is not even worth over $10. The only reason they cost so much is that they are for X Box and have the Turtle Beach brand name.

The Turtle Beach brand is losing reputation in my opinion. This is the second set of head phones I got from them. the first we're $150 for PC. After getting it I found that they didn't even work on 64 bit systems, and it has been over a year with no new drivers for 64 bit.

Stay away from Turtle Beach. At least then you will stand a chance at listening to quality sound."

"My first pair broke (2 years old, I pulled the jack out of the controller too hard and accidentally yanked the wires out.) and I tried using the headset that Microsoft sends with the 360. Needless to say, I couldn't go without it because I use the headset at night when everyone in the house is asleep and because they really give you an advantage while playing because you can hear things as quiet as footsteps with them on.

Love these things, if you are unsure because of the price or any other reason I highly recommend that you get them."
