What's great about it: Great Sound
What's not so great: Cord is long and cumbersome

"I've had the headset for a year or two and it works great. Sound can be turned up to very loud, yet no one in the house will hear it. The only drawback is when playing Gears of War 2 on Tyro Station level, the train sound overwhelms the rest of the sounds on the game. Also, the cord is very long and can get in the way. Otherwise, for the money, the headset is pretty good. I use it for every game that I own."

What's great about it: Easy installation, value, sound quality.
What's not so great: Cords cords cords!

"I bought this headset about 2 or 3 months ago, and could not wait to unbox it and start using it. The first thing I noticed is that the package it comes in is very tightly secured, a good pair of scissors really helps. When I finally ripped apart the plastic holding it in place, it was extremely easy to setup. The first thing I noticed when I put the headset on, was that there was a slight buzzing sound when the microphone was plugged in (I don't know if this is just mine or if anyone else has had this problem). The sound quality that came out of this headset was amazing, I could hear every footstep in the game. It's been about 2 or 3 months since I've had them, and they are still a great value. I would recommend these to anyone who wants a richer audio experience. I would give this headset a 4.5 out of 5.

Pros:
-Amazing sound quality.
-Simple installation (plug and play).
-Comfortable.
-Great value over an Xbox 360 wireless headset (both $59.99).

Cons:
-Slight buzzing noise when microphone is plugged in (again, not sure if it is only mine or if it is with all X1 headsets).
-Cords really detract from the wireless theme of current consoles."

"Easy to setup, and very comfortable....and did I mention it sounds AMAZING! I feel like I just got a top notch headset for dirt cheap. I have had my xbox for quite some time and have been playing with the headset that came with the xbox and let me just say this, "WHY DIDN'T I GET THIS HEADSET SOONER!" This product also makes my girlfriend happy as ALL of the sound is directed into the headset!"

NOT ABLE TO ADJUST THE BASS RESULTING IN THE BOOM CANCELING OUT IMPORTANT HIGH PITCHED NOISES SUCH AS FOOTSTEPS AND VOICE COMMUNICATION!

These head phones are good for Free For All, Cage Match, and some Search and Destroy.

Try playing Team-Deathmatch and you will run into problems. YOU HEAR EVERY SINGLE FOOTSTEP and you will not know if it's your team or the enemy so you end up spinning around in circles wondering where its coming from. They are good headphones but because it muffles the voice chat in the game due to the bass I will be returning them for the Tritton Ax PRO's 169.99, see how these work."

What's great about it: If your playing COD4 and someone is aproaching you from the left side you can hear there foot steps in the left ear!
What's not so great: The Wires and price! Not to big of a deal though. Also after 1 Hour your ears sweat.

"This headset is amazing! You can hear everything the happens in game. The bass is insane, as I play COD4, the bombs sound so real I get scared. the cushions on the earpieces are so soft, I never want to take it off. These headsets are great, its a must have for Hardcore Gamers!"

"I absolutely love these. I've used the X4's the X3's and the X41's and the X31's. Also have used Triton Pro and AX 720 and I still out of all of these would pick these over any of those. The sound and the base and the level of volume you can put on these is so much better then any other headset."

What's great about it: Great sound quality, amazing usefullness is you use a computer monitor w/o speakers,voice chat
What's not so great: uses analog signal, could have included a Optical digital sound source aswell.

"I have had this product for about 2 weeks now and I can easily say this is one of the most useful things i have ever bought in my life. I use a computer monitor i also bought from best buy(W2361V-LG)for 1080P for my Xbox 360, and the monitor has no speakers so these were a gift from god in my situation. The sound quality and clarity is very good for what you pay, crisp and clear, plus amazing bass which actually rumbles the headphones on your ears. Although for the price I think they should have included Digital sound aswell such as optical for amazing sound quality. The volume will go INSANELY HIGH, WARNING: do not ever turn these up past 80% of their full volume, you WILL DAMAGE them and will also blow your eardrums out, no joke please listen to this. The voice chat is also seperately controlled so you can turn the voice up according to the level of volume you have so you can still hear your friends talking; the microphone is 10 times better quality than the xbox microphone headset, your voice will be MUCH clearer and other people will hear your dog barking outside with these, no joke it has happened to me with this headset, amazing quality. IMPORTANT READ THIS: For those people who have said you can not use these with HDMI, they are WRONG. Little kids don't know how to search google or read Turtle Beaches FAQ's. I use these with HDMI on my computer monitor; all you NEED to be able to use these with and HDMI setup is the Xbox 360 audio adapter that plugs into the back of your xbox where the normal AV hookups would plug in. Search google for Xbox 360 Audio Adapter, it only costs $30 and comes with an HDMI cable as well, best buy sells this piece aswell for $30. HDMI+Turtle Beaches is the way to go! amazing HDMI video quality with amazing sound+voice chat=the ultimate game immersion. Don't waste money on anything else, if you want the wireless version of these for $99 or the $199 ones. Go ahead they are even better, but if your on a budget, these X1's will do PERFECTLY with any setup, HDMI or AV. These also work with PC's, Listening to music with them is a whole new experience when they are rumbling so much they almost fall off your ears! By the way the cable that comes with these are 16-18 feet long one of the two im not sure but it is longer than two story house is high. They come with a velcroe strap so be sure to tie your cable up in a bundle otherwise your family will get tangled up in it xD. These also have height adjustment and the ear cups swivel, so they are VERY comfortable when they are dialed in on your ears. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with my purchase, worth EVERY $60 i paid for them. <3 X1s"

What's great about it: Excellent sound quality, excellent microphone quality, cord length ensures it'll reach your 360, no matter how far away
What's not so great: Won't work unless the USB port is plugged in, after only slightly tugging on the cord the microphone doesn't work for me

"I bought this a month or so back after a friend recommended it to me.

The Good: Let me start by saying as long as you treat this headset with care, it does it's job very well. The microphone quality will make your voice extremely clear, and the stereo headphones have excellent quality.The cord for this headset is indeed very long, but I'd rather have too long a cord then too short.

The Bad: After about a month of using this product, I got up to get the phone and the cord caught on my chair, tugging the cord slightly hard. When I returned, I discovered my microphone no longer worked. The headphones still works great, but the microphone is shot.

I recommend this product, just handle it with care."

What's great about it: almost everything
What's not so great: the design of the usb cord needs to be longer

"i absoulutley loved this product the only problem i ran into was the fact the usb (powercord) was the same length as the others which means u have to hook it up to your tv (lcd). in my case created a power problem for my tv cause it got hot me not realizing it til it was to late now my tv has a problem turning on sometimes and when it does. sometimes it has hundreds of red dots across the screen. its only a year old so i know its not the tv. i played alot of games for about eight months cuz of injuries so when i send my tv in to be repaired i sure that this will have something to do with it suppling power to my headsets any time its on. but quality of sound is great for the money i would recommend a extention cord for your usb cord and plug it into your xbox."

"This is a Great headset. I would buy these over a wireless headset anyday as long as you dont mind wires. These babys allow you to hear every little movement which is great for MLG. Also its a headset mic. 2 for 1 sells itself. I would reccomend though waiting for the new x31's and get those. they are 10x better IMO. But these will work well for tight budgets. Do not buy the $15 microsoft wired mic your buy 5 for 1 of these"

What's great about it: Well, the sound is outrageous (In a good way). They are superb at blocking out background noise.
What's not so great: Lots of cables, Durability???

"This headset is amazing. The sound is the best part about it, as it should be for any headset. All the other reviews say that your ears get hot and it breaks. Well, the ears thing is true, your ears do get hot after a while (30 mins), but you dont notice how hot your ears are until you take the headset off. Your ears also might be in very minor pain, but when you're in the middle of a firefight, who cares. Some people have said that this headset is delicate and breaks easily. I have had mine for 2 days so far, so i dont know if the battery will run out of juice, but as long as you take the USB plug out of your Xbox when you're done playing, you should be fine. And with any product, if you treat it badly, drop it, rough it up and throw it, its going to be damaged and could break. If you take good care of this headset by not mishandling it, you should be fine. Overall, i think this headset is great. I was going to get another cheap Xbox headset, but I realized that they break every 3 months, and believe me, i take care of them. After a while, you lose the mic and it stops working, even if you treated it like your life depended on it working. Go Turtle Beach."

"well i bought this headset yesterday cause my old one that came with my xbox broke. when i hooked it up to my xbox, i heard a really good bass from the headset. it is good if u also don't want anyone to hear the game noise. and the voice quality is spectacular. however, the only flaw is that it doesnt support hdmi cable, so this meant i had to use my regular a/v cables in order to use the mic. Overall it is still a great mic!!!"

"Amazing headset for under $150. I have used several alternatives but this is easily the best headset short of the Astro A40's. Headset doubles as a PC headset and has 2 volume controls. 1 for voice and 1 for game sound. Awesome base, not to big and not to small. Amazing sound quality and mic picks up your voice and not background noise unlike other mics. A must buy if you want to improve your gameplay for any game. Very easy assembly. All you need to do is plug your normal red and white cords into the splitter, then back into the TV. Sound then can be played over your speakers and in the headset.

A must buy."

"My friend told me about these, and I needed to buy a new microphone anyway, so I decided to treat myself to these headphones. After I got home and plugged them up, I realized what an amazing piece of equipment these are! Crystal clear sound quality, booming bass. You can actually hear people trying to sneak up behind you! It feels like you're actually there! If an explosion goes off, you can actually tell which direction it comes from! Different dials for voice and game volume so you can decide which one you want to be louder. Definitely worth every single penny! A must buy for gamers! I've had them for over 6 months and they still work like new!"

"I would recommend these because your gaming life will change.You will be able to hear your teammates clearly,bass is booming,it makes you sound like your in the middle of a real battlefield.And when your not playing games you can watch TV,Movies,and listen to Music.But if you wear them too long it kind of makes your ears feel a little sweaty,and a little uncomfortable.And it doesn't disturb others in the room,unless your a loud mouth.And it fits and adjust to any head size,not like the cheap ones.But overall I would recommend these to any gamer who wants to improve their way of gaming."

What's great about it: It has amazing sound quality for both voice and in-game sound. a must have for hardcore gamers.
What's not so great: meh, the wires are reaaally long but its not so bad because of the velcro strap.

"I had a choice to pay 49.99 or so for the xbox 360 wireless headset or these babies, and I made a good choice by buying these. They're very comfortable even after long playing sessions. The sound is awesome quality and it allows you to turn up voice and game sound on different levels so you can choose which is louder. It also has good output quality too, my friends can hear me better and the sound isn't so distorted. This mic also works great for recording voice-overs. Get this mic!"
