What's great about it: No connections needed to laptop What's not so great: No rechargable battery
"Extremely easy to install to your MacBook... Works without having to think about it... The only bad thing I see is it uses AA batteries instead of a rechargable...."

What's great about it: Color - It matches keyboard / Bluetooth - no external adapters needed What's not so great: Everything else
"Let's face it, in the world of technology the mouse is not exactly the most complicated piece of gear in a computer environment! It should have a minimum of basic features that work well. The Apple Mighty Mouse is way off the mark! I recently transitioned from a PC to an IMac and this is just one of the many frustrating elements of adapting to the Apple world! * Sure, the mouse connects via bluetooth built in to the Mac so there are no external connections whatsoever. It is white and matches the keyboard and Mac console. 2 great features. Does it work? No! * First, the size is so small that only the smallest of hands would be comfortable using it. Also, the shape has no ergonomic design at all. It's just flat! Look around at any other mouse out there, there's a reason they have hand molded shapes! This one is just plain uncomfortable and will actually strain your hand/wrist in long sessions of use (especially if you have larger hands like me). * The worse function of this mouse, however, comes from it's lack of acceleration. There are no adjustments to make this mouse speed across your screen like all the other PC based mice I have ever used. What this means is that you will have to physically pick up the mouse and move it to navigate your full screen (you'd run off the edge of your desk otherwise). To make it across my 24" screen (20" actual) the mouse must be moved 5" laterally (side to side). To move top to bottom 13" it needs to be moved 3". On my PC using a Logitech wireless laser mouse at fastest setting, I barely have to move my wrist to get the cursor from one side of the screen to the other. * Finally, the dual button functionality most of us are use to on all other mice is incorporated into a single side sensitive button on the Mighty Mouse. However, as slick as this may look, it fail to work consistently. So, you'll be frustrated that you're pressing the right front part of the mouse and either nothing happens or it performs a "left" click instead of the desired "right". * The mouse has a button on the bottom to "turn off" to save batteries, but I doubt anyone will use this with any regularity. Thus, the battery life when left "on" is rather short. My Energizer Lithium (takes 2 AA's) lasted 7 weeks. * I will now seek a much better designed and functioning mouse to replace this major flaw in equipment. It's amazing that Apple can offer this dysfunctional mouse as it's only wireless choice! Stay clear and go for a proven winner like Logitech and many other non-Apple brands. * Happy mousing!"

What's great about it: Ease of use, style What's not so great: Scroll wheel
"This mouse is easy to use, full of style but also a little pricey. I have had no problems with the table I'm using it on and love the side squeeze buttons. The mouse syncs quickly and does not use up a usb slot like other wireless ones. The scroll wheel is a little small and does not work as well as traditional ones but that is easily overlooked. Overall I am very happy with it."

What's great about it: Sleek, Simple, Apple What's not so great: Price, Responsiveness, Scroll ball a little too small.
"Overall, I was somewhat disappointed with this product. It is very sleek, and simple -- yet for the price, I don't think it's worth it. I tried the product out -- and the responsive didn't seem to be where it should. It's either that, or the table that I was using the mouse on -- which could be a huge factor because of how the table is -- but it just didn't work as well as my Logitech. Scroll ball is a little small than what I'm used to with a standard scroll wheel -- but I do like it, but it would be better if it was larger. The side-squeeze button, pretty awesome, yet takes a little getting used to. It's not one of your typical gestures with a mouse. If you have money to blow off on expensive items AND if you have a good flat surface, this mouse should do you good. If not, possibly not worth it -- but again, that's my personal opinion."

What's great about it: Design, Compatability, ease of use What's not so great: price
"I have a black macbook that I love but trying to type on a laptop keyboard while manipulating the track pad is difficult. The apple mouse is tres cool. It is two button and adds that right click function that is missing in the track pad (unless you use the function key). It looks sleek and is very very elegant in design. As soon as you power it up, your apple's bluetooth will detect the mouse and you are ready to go. Of course all this coolness and design comes at a price. Apple is never shy about charging a premium for any of their products. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. But I'm a mac junkie. The mouse is awesome. Just be sure to have some compressed air ready b/c the track ball does get gummed up eventually with dust and there is no way to get to it without surgery involving an exacto knife. Namaste"

"I also got this because I didn't want to be stuck using a track pad. I really like this mouse - even better than my old logitech. its so nice not dealing with a cable and it really fits the mold of my hand well... i recommend!"

Great Wireless Mouse
07/21/2008

"Another great Apple product. I use it at home with my MacBook. It was easy to setup. You can turn it off when not in use, or be lazy and just keep it on all the time, and replace the batteries every 4 months or so. I only turn it off when I am gone for more than a couple of days.
It did loose its connection with my laptop once, for whatever reason. It just took a couple of minutes to reinstall, and it has not acted up again.
I like the features more than my former corded mouse. It has a great feel, and the clicking action and scrolling (or click) action by the little roller ball on top provide great control. It is well designed."

What's great about it: Design, Functionality, Bluetooth, Battery Life What's not so great: Slgihtly Inaccurate
"Great mouse. Works via bluetooth for your mac. Sleek design offers easy to customize primary click, secondary click, scroll ball click, and side squeeze function. Operates on 2 AA batteries which will last a great deal of time. Another excellent feature of this mouse is that when it is not being used it will automatically power off, or if you are carrying it in a case etc. you can close the laser door on the bottom for any accidental clicks. I video edit and I have found it to be a little inaccurate when dealing with tiny moves, but other than that it is a great product worth the money."

What's great about it: no wires, ridiculously easy set up, ability to turn mouse off to save battery life, nice roller & speed, comfy on hand What's not so great: sometimes feels a little slow, price.
"This is an awesome product, at least as of right now...I got it yesterday and it's really cool. Sometimes I get confused because there is no clearly divided left and right side...so it takes some getting used to but overall its a well made product. I initially bought it because I didn't think I'd like the trackpad...but eventually I got used to it so I haven't really been using the mouse all that much. However it would be nice if you were at a desk or something. THis mouse gives you the abilitiy to turn off the mouse if you want so you can save battery life...which is a really neat feature. The set up is SUPER easy. You just hit one button practically and its set up, so that is always great. And 69 dollars is a lot of money for a mouse, but just be wise with your decisions...if you feel you need one go ahead and get it but it may not be necessary."

What's great about it: No wires! What's not so great: Roller ball can get sticky
"Great mouse if you want to de-clutter your desk. Lasts a long time on two AA batteries. Roller ball is great for 360 scrolling (instead of up or down like most). Only drawback is that the roller ball can get stuck if it's dirty. Simple enough to correct, but noticeable nonetheless. Recommended. No issues with installation or daily use."

What's great about it: Bluetooth; Great Battery Life; Great Compatibility with Macs; What's not so great: Doesn't work flawlessly on all surfaces; Expensive (Apple Product);
"I am a user of a macbook, and I find this a GREAT tool. I would recommend this mouse to anyone using a desktop mac for sure. If you are a notebook user, and you use your macbook on your desk, then this product is for you. If your the kind of person who unplugs from the battery and sits on a couch with your macbook, this is not for you (It's unnecessary.) The ability to have 360 degree rotation is great, and the tracking is excellent. Another great feature is the ability to truly "Right" Click, especially if you are a primarily windows user. (I'm Not...) If you start using this, its hard to go back to the trackpad. I would highly reccomend this product over similar products in this category, but only if you are a mac user, just because of the mac specific buttons on the device. (Squeeze, 3rd button, 360 track ball) The battery life is great, just use the same batteries that come included, for the rest of the life of the mighty mouse."

Best Wireless Mouse I've Owned
04/20/2008

What's great about it: Great Features What's not so great: Can't Take It Apart
"My regular Mighty Mouse was starting to act up after two years, so I opted to replace it with a Wireless Mighty Mouse. I have no regrets. I was concerned the feature-rich Mighty Mouse might have some features removed in the switch to the wireless format, but that's not the case at all. The side buttons are there, the clickable 360 scroll ball, it's all there and functional as ever. I also like that it's not too heavy, though definitely heavier than the standard mouse. I foresee one problem, which is, just like the regular Mighty Mouse, you can't take it apart. So, if I was having a scrolling issue and I wanted to dust off the scroll ball, I won't be able to remove it, I have to wipe it down right on the mouse. It's not a problem now, with three straight months of scrolling perfection (not one hiccup), but it could be a problem a couple months down the road. In summation, great wireless accessory. Buy one if you need a wireless mouse."

"I do a lot of work on photoshop and other such programs where you have to have very precise control over your mouse. This mouse is the best I've tried. Great control, the scroll wheel is amazing, and being cordless helps tremendously. I recommend this to anyone who needs a mouse that won't let them down."

What's great about it: Stylish appearance, Bluetooth connection What's not so great: Side "pressure" buttons not easy to activate
"I was initially hesitant about purchasing this device by Apple. After having used it for about two months now, I actually REALLY like it. I am currently using it with my Bluetooth-enabled iBook G4. The extensive options panel from within System Preferences is wonderful and can cater to many people's tastes."

best mouse for the MAC yet

What's great about it: right click and a unique squeeze button. What's not so great: a little pricier than other wireless mice.
"new mouse works great and it works via bluetooth in stead of IR which is great and there is no dongle needed which is a huge bonus. The right click takes a little getting use to since you have to lift your index finger(if your right handed) off of the left click button in order to right click since the mouse is touch sensitive; but literally takes a few clicks to master. Also the fact that the scroll wheel works 360 degrees is great and it comes with the added bonus of having another button built in. What is really great and unique about this mouse is that when you squeeze the sides of the mouse it can activate exposé or dashboard. I also found the mouse extremely easy to setup and am yet have any connection problems and I have used the mouse across the room from my Mac."
