What's great about it: Provides other methods of waking up other than a buzzer.
What's not so great: The CD alarm option does not allow you to specify a track.

"I didn't buy this item for a plethora of features. This alarm clock is good for people out there who can't stand being woken up by a buzzer. Simply pop in your favorite CD and you can wake up to it first thing in the morning. The only problem is that you cannot pick a specific track on the CD for the alarm to play. It will simply begin playing the first track on the CD, but that's a very minor drawback. The clock has two brightness settings, neither or which are obnoxiously bright. The sound clarity is pretty good, and it has a good volume range, so even heavy sleepers will wake up. Of course, you can also wake up to the radio, and if you do like the standard buzzer, you still have that option too. This was a worthwhile buy."

What's great about it: Cheap
What's not so great: Can't Play CDs and wake up to alarm "buzzer"

"I can't believe that no one who has purchased this didn't mention that you can't fall asleep to CDs and wake up to the alarm buzzer. The functions are mutually exclusive. There is no way I can wake up to music so I need that loud annoying buzzer. Unfortunately, in order to turn that on, it requires the CD to be turned off. Unbelievable! The door is flimsy like other people have mentioned but it did sound okay. Another cheap Insignia product. Bought today, will be returned tomorrow."

Best alarm clock you'll ever own   05/05/2008
By EmJim

What's great about it: Great features
What's not so great: Wakes you up in the morning :)

"This alarm clock Gets the job done. Its easy to set the alarm clock to wake you up in multiple ways. I perfer to wake up to home made cds. Alarm buzzer and the radio are other possibilities. Waking up in the night isn't the best feeling, but its nice to know the time, and its really easy with these big, bright numbers. Obviously, this is a great buy."

Too flimsy   04/29/2008
By MelodyRO from Austin, Texas

What's great about it: Nice display
What's not so great: Flimsy, doesn't allow song selection for CD alarm

"It's Insignia, Best Buy's "value" brand, so I really shouldn't be expecting Sony quality...I just bought the alarm this evening and I'm pretty disappointed. The CD door doesn't close properly and I am not able to select a specific song on my CD for the CD-Alarm function. Definitely can do much better, even at the cheap price. I'll be taking this back to the store asap."

Good Price   04/23/2008
By HGurl from Arizona

What's great about it: Large display and CD

"I had this alarm clock for almost a year. I haven't had any problems. I really like the large display. The sound out of the small speakers it pretty good being it is an alarm clock.

I really wish the CD door was a stronger because it is a little flimsy, so be gentle with it

Overall it was a good buy.

Great for the price!   02/11/2008
By Anonymous from Plymouth Meeting, PA

What's great about it: Price, ease of use
What's not so great: Doesn't have a dual alarm

"This low cost model was purchased to replace a high end Sony CD clock radio that cost 3X as much as this one but CD player broke down within 2 months of use.
This is great as a bedside, fall asleep to your favorite CD model, at a fantastic price. I didn't expect the radio to sound as good, which it does and it's much easier to get used to using than the more expensive 'all bells and whistles' model. Even if I only got a year out of it, it breaks down to less than fifty cents a week! The display light can be changed which is nice for those of us who need it brighter to see without our glasses at night also!

Trash   10/03/2007
By gdc9 from Michigan

What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Turner cable snapped after 5 months. Radio useless.

"Purchased 3-16-07 and lasted 5 months. Difficult to
use and set up. Also it does NOT have an outlet for
stereo speakers as advertised. Constant static. Already in the garbage.

Insignia delivers again   08/17/2007
By PhillyPhan from new jersey

"After being inpressed with Insignia's outdoor speakers, I decided to give this CD Clock Radio a whirl. Once again, I came away impressed. The display wasnt to bright, which is a major problem on alot of clock radios, and there is even a dimmer to mellow it some more. The controls are very easy to use, so it doesnt take brain surgury to set this. The radio reception is very good, with Am being much stronger then on my Sony. The CD player is nice as it plays CD-R's (alot of cheapos still dont support this) The sound is very good for very small speakers. Dont expect this to be like a Bose, but if you are only using it for low volumes (I use it to listen to the ballgame or for Sleeping Music CD's) then it sounds just fine. There is no tin can effect like most clock radios, and the sound matches that of Sony which cost much more. It is a little cheaply made, since it is, Cheap. I wouldnt pound on the CD door or buttons, so if you are going to be rough on it, it probely wont hold up to good, but once again a nice buy at this price range."
