Expensive doesn't always mean Better

"With analog signals and cables, shielding was important in order to reduce the effect of loss and distortion, and to preserve the quality of the signal. Thus, there was an incentive to buy the more expensive high-end analog cables, because they were able to deliver a better picture than the cheaper cables that introduced more loss and distortion (which results in ghosting and fuzzy images). . However, with digital signals and cables, this is no longer a major concern, since a signal can suffer some amount of loss can still produce an image as good as a signal that experienced no loss (digital is like a light switch, only capable of being on or off, whereas analog is like a dimmer dial, which can alter the brightness of the bulb). Over large distances, loss is still an issue (if the signal degrades too much, an "on" message can be interpretted by the receiver as an "off" message, thereby distorting the data being sent). But since this is only a 6.6 foot cable, even a cheap HDMI cable won't experience enough loss that it will distort the signal, so all of the extra shielding on this cable is unnecessary. . This is a fine cable, but you are paying for a lot of extra protection that isn't even needed. A $40 cable will perform just as well as this one."

"I watched Transformers The Movie. The picture quality was perfect and it was not a blueray. Even my sons movies like The Bee looked great. I played Call Of Duty 4 on the orginal cable from Sony then on this HDMI cable. It was night and day. The amazing details in picture quality and sound you get is great. I love the clearity I get when I am looking down the scope or running for cover. I highly recommend this cable. When you spend over $500.00 for a system with blueray and the games are $59.00+tax whats another $100.00 to get the full potential out of the system. Highly Recommended."

"ok i know wat ur all thinkin "100 bucks for a cord?!?!" i thought the same thing. But this cord is well worth the money. I bought a ps3 and a plasma to go with it. I had no clue my gaming wasnt even in hd until my friends told me i needed a cord! So i shopped around and decided to get this one...the picture is soooo great now. I would deffinately recommend paying a little more for this cord"

"The picture quality from the cable is excellent. I have used different Monster HDMI cables for my PS3. But, none of the cables had the picture quality that this one has. The picture is clearer and the colors are brighter and more defined with this cable."

"Sure, it's a great cable and it certainly performs as advertised, but why pay 10x more for a cable when a cheaper priced cable will do the same thing? I bought this cable BEFORE I did some research on the internet. Sometimes it pays to do your research before you buy. I learned the hard way that less expensive cables will perform just as good as the expensive ones. That's why I gave this 3 stars. It's ok, but not great."

"I purchased this item because it was reccomended by the employees since I also bought a new HD T.v. with the ps3. Dont get me wrong their is a difference between the one thats included to this one. The only thing was I bought it on Aug 07 and the cord doesnt work anymore Jan 08. Not only that but my friend had the same problem. I dont know if we were the unlucky ones but thanks to Best Buy they switched it for me and my friend. So i'll see how long this one last."

"some people believe that a item is expensive only because of the name that comes with it. well i'll tell u right now my hdmi cord that i purchased with my lcd tv for my upconvert dvd is definately not as good as this one. the price does make it worth thinking twice about it. if you want the best out of your ps3 and have a hdtv then i would recommend this cable ESPECIALLY if your using it for blueray. the part where they say for ps3 im still trying to figure out the difference, same connector type tip to it, i can interchange the ends for my upconvert hdmi cable and the psyclone cable so i would believe ANY hdmi cable should work for ps3."

"I wanted to get the most out of my HDTV and I knew I was not when I used the original cords that came in the PS3 box. When I saw the price I was a little unsure if I wanted to spend that kind of money on a cable. I ended up buying it and It was well worth the money. Makes Quite A Difference

"When I first hooked up my PS3 to my full HDTV, I used the cable that came with the system. The picture was so-so. Having an HDMI cable on my DVR I swapped it onto the PS3 and the picture looked much better. I went to BestBuy the next morning knowing that I needed another HDMI cable. I decided to spend the extra $$$ and get the Psyclone HDMI Cable for PS3. My friend told me that I was wasting my money but I told him that if I didn't see a difference I would exchange the cable for a much cheaper one. I came home & hooked the cable to my DVR and low & behold the HD channels on TV looked better than before. I then swapped the Psyclone cable onto my PS3 and the graphics were the best I had seen. Popped in a Blu-Ray disc and was amazed by the picture. Minutes later I returned to BestBuy and coughed up more $$$ for another Psyclone HDMI cable. Now my DVR & PS3 are hooked up to my TV via a Psyclone HDMI cable. The best part is that my friend that told me I was wasting my money ended up buying a Psyclone HDMI cable as well............."
