What's great about it: doesn't weigh alot: very easy to use
"it's almost like the ipod nano but a bit thicker. you could put it any where. i really liked it and i didn't even have to read the instructions to know how to use it. i also like how the scroll turns blue almost like a cell phone. i think a lot of people would like this product."

Great MP3 Value

What's great about it: Easy to operate!
What's not so great: N/A
"This is a great inexpensive MP3 palyer for a young teen. Our 14 year old has it and loves it. The best feature is the price point, when your kids loses it every other day, or leaves it on the bus, or at her friends house, you won't have a heart attack! You didn't layout a gazillion $. It is a great value and I highly recommend it."

great mp3 player

What's great about it: lots of capacity for audiobooks, good clarity on video files
What's not so great: too many pre-loaded files, need to switch to Plays For Sure
"This is a great mp3 player for audiobooks and podcasts. The 2 GB capacity is plenty. It also has a nice display for photos and video files. The resolution for pictures and videos is very clear and sharp.
There are plenty of accessories that will work with the Sansa. I like running the Sansa through my car speakers. The battery lasts at least 18 hours. Also, you can get a USB charger to plug into an electric outlet when traveling and you can't get to a computer to charge your Sansa.
I suggest switching the configuration to Plays For Sure and NOT the default Rhapsody. You may encounter DRM problems with downloaded audiobooks from the library unless you are in Plays For Sure mode. I also suggest deleting all the pre-loaded Rhapsody music. It takes up too much room on your 2GB drive. Once you deleted these files, you will have plenty of room for your books and podcasts.
A minor drawback is the method to fast forward through a file. You have to keep holding down a button which only advances 15 seconds at a time. This is fine for a music file, but I use my Sansa for books where each file is at least an hour long.
I highly recommend this mp3 player. I have had mine almost a year and use it at least 1-1/2 hours a day commuting in my car. It is a perfect size for travel. It's just great."

What's great about it: Price, Screen, Thumb Wheel, Small but not tiny.
What's not so great: None really.
"This is my first MP3 player and it does its job for a fraction of a price of the Ipod nano.
I bought this with the idea to wait for prices to drop on other higher capacity players and only invest a small amount for a MP3 player.
Now you thinking 99 bucks is a small amount? No, I got a refurbished player for 40 bucks and I could not be happyer.
Scan disk replaces the back plate and face plate making the player look new and work new."

What's great about it: it plays video and you can view pics
What's not so great: lots
"I got this when it first came out and it didn't have rhapsody on it. At first I loved it even though it is a pain in the butt to get music on to it unless you have the right version of windows. Then i started having problems with it freezing and the screen going blank i did updates and it fixed it for a while then it started earsing music everytime i plucked it into the computer to put on or delete music. I had 300 songs and it would be down to20 or less songs so i called the company they had me do a bunch garbage to it it didn't fix it so they said sebd it in and they gave me a pre paid label to use us e still have to pay for the packging. But i still had a problem i couldn't access any of my music and it wasn't backed up. the i tried my computer with linux instead of windows and iwas able to acess almost all of it so i took it off but you have to put it back on using windows. This happened me about 5 or 6 times in my 1 year warranty period, i also had other problems. When you call them half the time they barley speak english and online they take forever to respond unless you still have a warranty. Then mine was up and five days after i had the problem again so i took it off and reset it. Know it is freezing and shutting off and ny music doesn't work have the time some can one day and the next day it will. They will do nothing for me the only way i can fix it know is by holding down the power button for about a minute then i will turn it back on and it will take forever to load since i have it all on a sd meomry stick since my mp3 stopped working bascially for songs it will wrk with videos and pics but it deletes the songs or says the songs are bad files for most of them. It stinks I would rather have a zune or something i hate ipods but i'm thinking there better then this thing"

"I don't like this MP3 player because i have many, many problems with it. Second time i have to go to best Buy store to fix my mp3 player. If someone want to buy thay player, i suggests to buy a warranty, because i bought and i'm very happy that i pay $20 and when is something wrong with my MP3 player i can go and give to fix this mp3 player. So i'm not satisfied from this purchase."

What's great about it: Sounds good and when played continuous never fails
What's not so great: Does not switch modes consistantly
"I work for a Telephone company with about 100k dialtone subscribers and we use this little device for our music on hold delivery system. The 2GB device was loaded with 65 songs in 3 folders and 15 spoken recording loaded in 2 folders. All audio had their levels adjusted and then a playlist was made to play 1 song, 2 spoken recording and then repeat till all the music had been played. It would repeat the entire cycle again. This device is plugged into a wall outlet via it's AC adapter and has been running 24/7 since May 8, 2007. It has never had to be reset, rebooted, power cycled or hit with a hammer. 2 Apple devices and 1 Creative device were tried prior to this wih no joy. CONS*** the device does not suffer constantly changing setting and switching modes as well as some of it's competitors. So if you fidget or have to continually switch between radio, video, mp3, WMA and photo then another device may be more suited to your needs."

Rhapsody to Go and Sansa (not a good match)
09/25/2007
By RobInKC

"Bought 2- 4GB Sanas to use with the Rhapsody to Go service. They were nice players with great features. However, my player lasted a week and started locking up and finally froze completely. I contacted customer service and they basically read the instructions off thier own web site to unlock the player which I had already tried with no luck. The finally told me to send it in so instead I took it bask to Best Buy for a refund. My wife's started locking up the next week so we returned it as well. We then bought 2 Creative Zen Vision:M 30GB players. We have had them 6 months and so far they have performed flawlessly with Rhapsody to Go. They do not work with the Rhapsody Channels (theme playlist) but we got tired of the channels in less than a week of use."

"I bought this MP3 player a few months ago and I highly recommend this as an affordable alternative to some of the newer and more expensive mp3 players. The primary purpose of this player was to play mp3s. However, it also plays am/fm stations and stores media. So, now while your listening to your favorite song, you can also display your favorite pictures."

"Awesome product. I just love mine. I take it to the dentist to block out the drilling. I have my 3 yr old nephews shrek and cars soundtracks on it and he sits on the couch with his head phone on ( he knows he is not allowed to touch the MP3 player, only I am allowed to work it for him) and he falls to sleep listening to his music. I love not having to carry around tons of CDs because you want to change music. I love the way this sansa ia made from Best Buy at a great price. Now my mom wants one so guess whats she getting for her 60th birthday in October. I reccommend this product to anyone. and I reccomment Best Buy to everyone!!!"
