What's great about it: Amazing sound quality and range. Very Comfortable. Great customer service through Bose.
What's not so great: Had to call Bose for a replacement cord twice. It didnt cost me a thing and they have since updated it to a better one.

"As a part time DJ and music finatic, I love hearing every part, instrument, etc in a great song or new beat. These headphones provide unbelieveable clarity and range.They are very comfortable and can be worn for hours. They block a lot of ouside noise and have great bass response. They are the best headphones that I have ever owned. I always thought that i had to pay over $300 for a "good" pair so I always stuck with $80-$100 headphones. After hearing my Bose 301's in my home over the years I knew that I had to try their headphones. They are just what I wanted at a affordable price. Three of my friends bought a pair after hearing mine."

What's great about it: Extremely comfortable for long sessions, good sound quality, portability
What's not so great: Fragile, price

"I purchased this headset about 6 months ago to replace my audio-technica ATH-ES5 that I have used for a couple of years. A great replacement and step up. Sound quality is excellent in the low range, almost overpowering the high frequencies. Voice clarity is excellent as well. This type of headphones is best for listening to classical, rock, or alternative without a lot of "whomph" from bass, although it handles this type of music with acceptable levels without having to turn the volume up to ear splitting levels. The ear cushions are extremely comfortable and form fitting, without overheating your head. Not recommended for outdoor activities. The portability with folding design and case makes this an easy answer for IPOD or laptop computer. Not a bad choice for portable laptop gaming, unless you are doing LAN functions and require a microphone. Although there are more expensive designs, this headset delivers what it should under all all conditions. No direct noise cancelling features except the memory foam itself which is effective. Extremely fragile and care should be used in installation of cords and storage. The only better solution for sound quality is to spend several thousand dollars $$ on a studio headset, which are bulky and not foldable. USB enhanced heads with DSP are superior in sound quality, but exhibit the same size challenges. RECOMMENDED for portable users everywhere."

"I have owned this headphone for a week now and am very impressed. Some of the other reviews do not give it the credit it deserves. Would not use for working out as it shouldn't get wet. The bass and spread of acoustics is really impressive. Bought these for traveling and actually found that I don't need the noise canceling headphones. They are also very comfortable on the ear, if you feel pressure, you probably have an unusually large head... These do the trick."

What's great about it: Great sound, lightweight, and comfortable
What's not so great: Poor build quality, lasted only a few months before cord connections failed.

"These sound great and feel nice even when wearing them for extended periods. Unfortunately, the connection point for the headphone cable is poorly designed and breaks without much heavy usage. Too expensive for such poor durability."

What's great about it: Sound is awesome
What's not so great: short cable

"Once i put on the headphone, it was like having a surround system in my head. The quality of sound was unbelievable. I was playing Prototype, at some points in the game the surround was so realistic, that I actually glanced over my shoulder thinking the sound was coming from somewhere else.

I was surprised at how short the cable was, but you do have the option to buy an extension stereo cable. Also, there is no volume adjuster on the headphone or cable, so I had to use the remote control.

It extremely comfortable, which is important to someone like me who games and watches movies a lot."

What's great about it: They're very comfortable and good for jogging. Amazing sound quality.
What's not so great: They're $200.

"This product lives up to the brand's reputation. This set of Bose headphones are incredibly comfortable and snug enough to stay on when I go for a jog. They cancel out a good deal of white noise and the quality of sound is superb. The only downside is the price. No one wants to pay $200 for anything, but this is one product worth investing in (especially since earphones are better for the ears than buds). If you're a big fan of music I would highly reccomend getting a pair of these."

What's great about it: It sounds pretty good but it puts pressure on yours ears and can't use it for too long, plus it's too big.
What's not so great: You look goofy wearing it at the gym, everyone looks at you.

"I wasted my money buying this headphone. I used few times at the gym but everyone looks at you. It puts pressure on your ears if you wear it for too long. I bought a $90 sony superior studio sound, and It sounds just as good as bose, and it fits perfect in your ears. I wish had not bought it."

What's not so great: these are a bit expensive, the headphone wire tangles

"these headphones are posibly the most comfortable things that i have ever put on my ears. the sound is as clear as it can get, it sounds so realistic and to me that is very important to have in a pair of headphones. On the down side the wire connecting the headphones to the music device tangles easily and comes rapped up so when you first get it the wire is all tanglay. I returned my $300 beats by dre in order to buy these and it is the best decision i have ever made. These are just as good as the beats but for $120 less, so definatly a good buy."

What's great about it: Sound quality and built-in mic. iPhone compatible.
What's not so great: Those cables sure are skimpy.

"For $200, and their name, Bose delivers... what's ultimately a mediocre product, and only because of sundry issues.

These are, by far, the BEST pair of headphones I've ever used. Sound quality is beautiful. End of story.

Unfortunately, for the price, Bose is doing itself a disservice by incorporating such wimpy, easy to ruin cables. They're scrawny and look like the connectors won't hold up too well. This would explain other customers' complaints.

I should clarify: The jack at the base of the headphones looks solid and made with thick cable. The part that connects from the phone/device to the headset is the cheap part. As long as Bose offers replacements, at a reasonable cost, I won't complain too much. Indeed, this could be a blessing in disguise: Just having this connectivity means if you damage the cable, you just buy a new cable. Even the most sturdy of cables are prone to human error.

It is only with the cabling aspect I have ambivalence for; the main unit is solid, is comfy, and you'll never get a better sound."

WOW! Its really bad! 05/18/2009

What's great about it: Comfort, thats about it.
What's not so great: Paying this much for terrible sound.

"I was so excited about getting these headphones. Until I tried them on and heard them myself.
If your looking for sound quaility, turn away from BOSE.
There was no crips highs and the base was muddy. The plastic felt very cheap for such an expensive product. I myself, an audiophile, find this product very disappointing. To my ears this headphone sounds very similar to my cheap $15 earphones.

Please do some research before buying bose. Look at Sennheiser, Grado, AKG, Audio-Technica."

What's great about it: Great Sound and Comfort

"I bought this set of headphones about a month ago and I have been pleased with them. I was a little skeptical about buying such an expensive set of headphones, but I couldn't deal with buds anymore. The over the head Bose headphones were a little too bulky and had no real protective case, just a bag. The on ear phones were just for me and I haven't had any complaints.
The headphones come with a very nive hard, protective case that is ideal for travel. I also like the way that the phones break down to fit in the case. Very compact! The feel of the headphones are second to none. You can wear them for hours without ever knowing that you have them on. They also block out a lot of outside noise.
iPods may not produce enough power to get full effect of headphones. Try them on your laptop and see what you think!"

Not Unsatisfied, Not Satisfied. 02/21/2009

What's great about it: Great Bass, Great Quality, Good looks, Comfy.
What's not so great: PRICE!!

"I am so tired of earbuds that it's not even funny. Whoever invented those should be put down. With that being said, I decided to spring for these. Now, $200 is a RIDICULOUS amount to spend on headphones. But what can I say, I guess I'm ridiculous...I spent that amount. They are amazing though. I bought a 16GB iTouch and so I wanted great sound to go along with it. The two are a match made in heaven. Now, if you buy these, let them run for about 24 hours before using them. It WILL loosen up the drivers giving you better sound quailty (as if they weren't good enough). I like the carrying case, the extension cable, etc. When I came home, opened the package, and plugged them in I thought to myself, "Well these are as good as my Sony's". I plugged up my Sony's and I was wrong. Bose kicks the Sony's in the pants. I also have a pair of Shure's and I have to say, Bose IS better.

But honestly, everyone "Hears" differently. So just buy them and find out on your own how amazing Bose quality really is."

What's great about it: they are so cumfey it blocks out some outside noise

"just like i said these are the best headphones i have ever had. they are so clear they dont distort if they do then you dont here it as bad as outher headphones the two cordes that come with the headphones are realy good comvenyece to have you have a shor cord for like haveing a pocket on your shirt. then you have a long cord to put it in your pants pocket. you dont nead to set a eq on your ipod like a bass booster because they built it so you dont haft to but the bass is outstanding and the fome cooshones that make it so cumfey to were you can were them for hrs and not even no you are wereing them the cooshens help blocking out some outsind noise. and reamember people when you buy bose you are paying for clairity and range so what i am saying you are buying the best which is bose and they are realy good for music lovers and movies lovers and so on. that is what i haft to say so when you think about geting new headphones get these."

What's great about it: Very clear sound and blocks out side noice
What's not so great: After a long time of wearing them, your ears get kind of hot, but you get use to.

"I really like the way the memory foam sits on my hear, it almost feels like noice cancelation headphones. The bass is really good, not to much, but not to low. The vocals sound awsome and instruments can be heard very well. The price is a little high, but it's well worth the price."

Superior Headphones Period 12/16/2008

"I've been around looking for headphones for awhile now. It's very important for me to listen to my music and feel comfortable while listening. I think that's a big factor in choosing headphones.
I've got a Iphone and I tried my best to use the bose in ear headphones but their design wasn't for me at all. The ear buds they provided me kept falling out and I couldn't handle having to worry about my ear buds falling out while trying to listening to music. I tried Shure in ear headphones and the sound was not as good as I thought they would be.
Finally, finally, finally.. I found something that I feel comfortable with. I've been researching the Bose On Ear Headphones for awhile. Debating if they were too big and if they were worth the price. Believe me.. the feel of it, the comfort of it, and the superior sound that comes out of these phenomenal headphones are incredible.
Enough said.. definitely worth it.."

What's great about it: REAL NICE sound, they were on sale when i got them, nice case- fit perfect, i like the choice of small or long cable.
What's not so great: Ears start to hard but only after long use(3-4 hours)

"I recently purchased these headphones after taking bake a pair of Bose In Ear headphones. These (on ear) headphones are a perfect fit for what I was looking for. Small enough to still use with my iPod or PSP, but huge sound with portables and when plugged in to my receiver for late night XBOX 360 gaming or just enjoying some music at home. These things are VERY comfortable on my ears and the sound is incredible. Despite NOT being NOISE CANCELLING these block an impressive amount of ambient noise. They fold up very nicely for travel and have a hardshell carrying case to protect them as well. NOTE: I see a lot of people complaining about the price, but raving about the quality. Guys, you get what you pay for. You want a very nice, compact pair of headphones, you're going to pay for them....and these are it."
