Pictochat is a great way to have fun you can either write on your own or or use the text. the screens are so bright you can use it as a night light!! You can play nintendo ds games or gameboy advanced games. The second you turn it on its like HEAVEN. I would definently recommend this to a friend or an entire family."

I love my DS lite

What's great about it: It's very addicting
What's not so great: none so far
"The real reason I bought the Nintendo DS was to bring a little bit of my childhood back with the Super Mario games. It's amazing, I still turn the DS like I'm holding a SNES controller with all of the turns and jumps. I debated on PSP especially since the price has dropped quite far last check $169.99. But I really wanted a handheld system for the Brain Age games and Super Mario Bros. *****5 STARS***** from me."

What's great about it: light-weight, lighter screen, longer lasting battery.
What's not so great: none
"I have both an older ds, and a ds lite. i found that it is very worth it to upgrade to a ds lite... it is smaller, there are more accesories for it, the battery life is longer, and the screen is lighter. Plus by comparing the two I have found that the ds lite's touch screen is more sensitive than the other. the mic. is also more sensitive and will pick up more sound. As far as the ds in general goes, I have found that it has many fun games, and that it is also geared toward the adults a little bit too...."

Good for non-gamers

What's great about it: bright screen, innovative touch screen, virtually no load times, and looks great(the hardware itself)
What's not so great: terrible graphics, all of its games are designed for young children
"The Nintendo DS is a very one sided system. Its portable, has 2 screens, and is sleek in your hands. The only problem is that the system is geared for toddlers! The most serious game I could find was Pokemon Diamond(and that's for kids). I would recommend the sony psp to older audiences because it has better graphics and has a more mature game library. The DS is all about poor visual quality and games that only suffice for a cheap thrill(that only lasts for about a day). The novelty soon wears off. It is the perfect system for little children, though, because they are more easily entertained."

What's great about it: Great design and easy to use, it will fit in your pocket and you can take it anywhere you go and have fun with it.
What's not so great: None
"Its very fun and addictive the price for each game is very accesible compared to other systems and there are tons of good game titles. It has excellent resolution and sound and is also very interactive due to the added use of the stylus pen. A single charge will last for hours and if you are a gamer any kind i will extremely recommended."

Best Handheld System
06/26/2008
By Throwdown918

"Considering this is my first hand held system since the original Game Boy I was thoroughly impressed. The touch screens really work great, and the colors on the screens are bright and very easy to see. The graphics aren't the best, but were surprising, that they looked so good on a hand held system. The fact that it can also play old GBA (Game Boy Advance) games literally makes this have one of the best, and largest game library's of any system. The amount of DS titles is staggering and a lot of them are very well done. The system itself is very small and fits in the palm of your hand. It is also very thin probably about as thick as the average cell phone. This makes it really great for taking on trips and carrying in pockets. Also many of the games allow you to play against friends who also have a DS. The best part of this is that some of the games don't require your friend to even own the game. You can play them with just one cartridge. If you are looking for a good hand held system the Nintendo DS is the best. Even for adults there are great puzzle games like Brain Age. Overall has been a really great purchase so far."

Great Console

What's great about it: dual screens, adjustable brightness, great graphics for small screen
What's not so great: arm get tired holding console, does not play Gameboy color games
"Bought this console with Zelda and Brain Age games which are great!!!
If you are right handed, your left arm will get tired holding the console while your right hand does all of the action with the stylus.
Also will not play any games older than Gameboy Advance."

The Best Handheld Gaming System
04/29/2008
By CPUser
from Schaumburg, IL

What's great about it: I can always see my game, there are easy controls, and the stylus holder is easily spotted.
What's not so great: None at all.
"This handheld gaming device is very similar to the Gameboy Advance SP with one difference, there is a touch screen. With this system, you use a stylus to navigate what you want to play and/or do. The stylus is easily spotted on the side of the system. Once you take it out, you can start playing. The "start" and "select" buttons are on the touch screen of the of the game system. Above them are the buttons "A", "B", "Y", and "X", making it easy to tell which buttons are which. On the left side of the touch screen, there is the "Cross of Arrows". This key pad will make it easy to find which choice you want on your game if you are uncomfortable using the stylus. The "volume" button and "headset" hole are on the bottom side of the system. The "power button is then on the right side of the system, next to the stylus hole. This way, you don't get the volume and power mixed up. This gaming system is definetly a must by for gamers all alike."

What's not so great: Power button is on side, would rather have on top
"Upgraded from the regular DS to the LITE. I like everything about it, thinner, fits in places easily, all of my daughter's friends have it. Great color, screen is brighter, better color, extra pen came with it."

Fun for Adults too
04/28/2008
By Kelmey

What's great about it: Graphics, Well-Built, Durable
What's not so great: Too small for adult hands
"I bought this after my son bought one. We enjoy playing each other. The graphics are great and it is a very well-built system. The only problem is my hands getting extremely cramped hands after playing for a long amount of time. This problem was solved by purchasing a Dreamgear Stereo Grip (not sold at BB). So I recommend buying one of those if you're an adult."
