The Nintendo DS Lite provides all the wonderful features of your Nintendo DS, such as color screens, built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and touch-screen gameplay in a smaller, sleeker design, and now in cool new colors. The DS Lite is less than two-thirds the size and more than 20 percent lighter than the original Nintendo DS! Aside from improved portability, the DS Lite allows you to adjust the screen's brightness to four different levels to accommodate a variety of lighting conditions. The microphone is located in the center, LED lights are clear and visible and the start and select buttons have been repositioned for easier access. There's even a removable cover included to protect the Game Boy Advance cartridge slot from dust and debris when you're not playing.

"The DS is a fun buy for those who are fans of nintendo and like fun games. Though the games are fun some of the games are a bit too childish but this isnt all that bad. The ds's touchscreen is fun to play with when you have the right games and the stylus is made for the ds's touchscreen. The ds is brighter than the original. The ds is here to stay for a long time and there are a lot more games coming out for it in the future. If you are gonna buy the ds you will see that it is as fun as the next handheld system out there."

"I had the DS for almost a year now and i found it to be a preatty cool portable game. Nintendo makes great games and the screen is the perfect size not to small not too bid. There are many educational games for this unit. Its is light weight, batter has long life, charges very quickly. Over all is a good investment for kids or for adults."

"I remember the first game boy that came out. The graphics, in retrospect were horrible. The sounds was butt and it was clunky. The DS Lite however, is pretty much the opposite in every way. The dual/touch screen feature takes the hand-held up a notch. The colors are bold and captivating and the controls set-up is seamless. MOST IMPORTANTLY though, is that it has a strong line-up of fun games to play. After all, that's what you want isn't it? Leave the all in ones alone and just play games. Let me put it this way...if I purchase a film, regardless of a reduced price, on a disk, regardless of size, the last thing I want to do is watch it on a 3.5 inch screen. The DS Lite is fun to own. A no-brainer. Play Brain Age in the store first so you can strengthen your noodle enough to see why."

"I HATE MY DS. PSPs are so much better and not a lot more expensive. There are absolutly no good games for the DS and the touch screen gets old after a day. The microphone is frustrating to use because it doesn't pick up any noise at all. Please, ask anyone who has both a PSP and a DS and let them tell you how them are now using their DS to prop open thier PSP case. THE DS IS A TERRIBLE BUY!!!!!"

"This gameboy system is by far the greatest thing I've ever played. The touch screen makes it even better. The games are fun, my favorite being Super Mario Brothers (Classic) THIS IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY!! It is very compactable, can go anywhere with you.
The only bad thing is it collects fingerprints, kind of hard to keep clean."

"By this time, I think everyone knows what a Nintendo DS is ... if you have a Gameboy Advance (or earlier model), it's well worth an upgrade. If you've never owned a Gameboy, this is the one to get.
As for the black color, it's very nice, but a little hard to keep clean. It tends to collect fingerprints rather easily. Otherwise, it's a great color."

"I have owned all of Nintendo's portable game systems, except for the first DS. Having seen the original model, I can tell you this new one has it - and all the rest of the handheld gaming devices - beat hands down.
The dual screen / touch screen system has allowed for some of the most innovative and creative play seen in a portable unit. Check out "The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass", or "Club House Games (especially bowling)," or even the Brain Age, Sonic Rush, Elite Beat Agents, or DK Jungle Climber gaes if you don't believe me. Full screen graphics coupled with the occasional split screen still on top/ action on bottom define this little unit's greatness. The ability to change the backlighting from soft to very bright, if you will, is another plus; it's nice at night to be playing DS and not disturb anyone around me - yet during the day I can turn the brightness up and still see well enough to play outdoors.
The DS, when the games are done well enough, is also a great puzzle game unit. Picross DS and the Sudoku puzzles packaged with Brain Age are almost flawless. Given the fact that it also plays GBA games, the library of choices is astounding. Even some of the new platform games for it are outstanding (again, DK Jungle Climber, New Super Mario Brothers, etc.).
Wi-Fi is a neat feature of this unit, and is ridiculously easy to set up if you have a wireless router port free in your home network. I was online within 5 minutes of inputting all the necessary information. There are not a lot of games yet that really use this to it's fullest, but I believe that will change eventually.
The little unit is sturdy as all get out as well. I have, without meaning to, dropped it...and nothing has broken. Once it slipped out of my hands and landed on the asphalt in the parking lot - I just knew I'd lost a huge investment. However, I picked it up, found only one little micro-sized chip on the casing, turned it on and found it in fine working condition.
Going back to what I said at the beginning, I've owned all the hand-helds from Nintendo, but I would play them only occasionally. I bought this unit in January, and I have to tell you seriously that I cannot think of a single day that's passed when I have not turned it on to play something. It fits comfortably in your hand, the buttons are all easily accessible, and the vast majority of the games are incredibly fun as well as visually stunning (yes, there are clunkers out there, but they are few and far between). You cannot go wrong with the Nintendo DS - period. It's a great investment. You may want to get two, however, to avoid arguments about who gets to play it next!"

What's great about it: Can play both DS and GBA games. What's not so great: In my case, I had to get used to playing with the stylus. This wasn't that hard at all.
"The Nintendo DS was well worth the money. I had put off buying it because I already owned a Game Boy Advance. However, since both game cartridges can be played on the DS, I was able to keep my GBA Zelda games I love so much, and also play the new Zelda game available for DS. Best of both worlds, so to speak. With the amount of games available for the DS, and the nature of versatile gameplay available through use of the stylus, I would recommend the DS over a PSP any day."

"If you grew up like me with all of the Game Boy versions or even the past few then you will definately love Nintendo DS! Having the double screen adds more depth to the gaming experience! The games are smaller disks and easier to handle and store for longer trips. The battery lasts as long as you want depending on the brightness you set your screen to and how loud you want your sound to be. With the headphone jack added without an extension unlike the SP, it is ideal for plane trips where bugging your neighbor isnt what you would wanna do on a log flight. Bottom line-better games, better light, GBA game compatible...THE BEST!"

"Its a amazing system. The original gameboy was cool, but it was so chunky and not built very well. The hinges came undone and it made me very unhappy. The DS Lite is light-weight, built better and the touch screen doesn't get screwed up as easily. I love it and I highly reccomend it to parents, teenagers and kids of all ages!"

"I have SONY PSP and Nintendo DS and I love them both! PSP is good for racing game, sports game, action... with it's PS2 like graphic. Internet works fine for portable player, and addtional music player and movie player makes PSP a buy DS is fun to play with the dual touch screan. it adds another dimentions to the classic Nintendo games DS won't have the same kind of graphics as PSP but still a Buy for the creative games that they have"
