Designed for kids ages five to 95, the revolutionary Nintendo Wii isn't just a next-generation system — it's an all-generation system. The innovative minds at Nintendo discovered that the evolution of gaming has made video games very complex, and those who once enjoyed playing games with their entire families have become alienated. The Wii is pronounced "we" for a reason — it symbolizes Nintendo's driving philosophy: this system is for everyone. Whether you're a hardcore gamer, a casual player or a grandparent who'd like to play a game with your grandchild, the Wii will provide you with a wondrous experience that returns gaming to simpler times while also defining a new age of game development. In addition to amazingly realistic next-generation graphics and a variety of outstanding titles to choose from, the true magic of the Wii starts right in the palm of your hand — the controller. The unique Wii Remote controller is wireless and motion-sensitive, allowing you to use everyday motions to simulate the motions in your game. The Nunchuk controller attaches to the Wii Remote and uses an analog stick along with motion-sensing technology to assist in character movement. Imagine yourself in the thrilling world of Wii Sports, the awesome, action-packed sports game included with your Wii console. Using your Wii Remote controller, you'll chase down powerful tennis serves, add touch to your golf swing to avoid tricky sand traps, overpower speeding fastballs to knock them out of the baseball park and more. The Wii Channel Menu, which is the first screen that will appear on your TV, provides a simple user interface that includes the Video Console Channel, News Channel, Forecast Channel, Photo Channel, Internet Channel, Wii Message Board and the Wii Shop Channel. Using the Mii Channel, you can even create playable caricatures of yourself called Miis that you can use in a variety of Wii applications. With an innovative motion-sensitive controller and the Wii Channel Menu, the Wii will truly make you feel less like just a player and more like you're really part of the game.

Wii LOVE IT!!!!10/08/2007
By BTCCCTHEMACSfrom The Woodlands, Texas
What's great about it: Great for the kids and easy to use What's not so great: graphics aren't the best
"We love this system. We own (or have owned) every gaming system available. The Wii is the best system for kids. It gets them off their butts and in action!! The games available (including the ones online) are GREAT!! My kids LOVE to see and play the games we grew up with. The fact that they can play gamecube and ds games on it is another feature we LOVE! I have recommended this system to all of our friends with kids (we are the "go-to" family about video games). I would say this is "THE" must have gaming system for kids!!"

Awesome System10/08/2007
By Racker
What's great about it: Innovative controllers. Great for all ages. What's not so great: Small number of games.
"The Wii has been a huge hit in our house since the day we got it. We've spent hours just playing the sports game that came bundled with the system. The Wii includes a truly new user interface, due to the way the controllers allow the player to interact with the game. The entire family has enjoyed playing tennis, baseball, etc. We also have a couple of games based on original Nintendo titles (Zelda and Metroid), and they are excellent. Both games have links to the originals (pun intended), but are obviusly updated in the area of graphics and controls. This system is highly recommended for any family."

2nd Best System EVER10/08/2007
By Kirbyfrom Cleveland, OH
What's great about it: Forces you to do physical activities, loads of fun regardless of age What's not so great: longtime playing can cause aches and pains
"All I have wanted since it came out was a Wii, so after my husband and I got married, instead of going on a honeymoon, we bought a Wii and played that as our honeymoon. This is better than what they show on tv, and regardless of the age, everyone has fun. We have a married couple that we hang out with, they were over and we played Mario Party on the Wii. We had so much fun that we did not realize it was 2 in the morning. Another time, we had a group of friends over playing bowling, everyone kept on playing because the challenge is not just timing and button pushing like on other consoles, with the Wii it is about what you do. Most of the group were guys, and they just had to keep proving they were better than the others. I cannot think of a day that has gone by and we did not play the Wii. My only recommendation is to take a break from it, especially if you are not physically active because you WILL feel the burn from playing the next day or so."

Best Game Console Today10/08/2007
By dhn913from McKinney, TX
What's great about it: allows gamers to be more engaged physically, family friendly, great system for parties
"The Wii is a great system for all age groups. It keeps the body engaged and moving instead of staying in your seat all the time. I went to a few Wii parties and all the guests love it b/c they feel like they are part of the game. Finally, it definitely fills in the generation gap with the family friendly games."

Innovation Great for the Money10/08/2007
By maddogdwfrom Abington, PA
What's great about it: Innovative; Least expensive Gaming System; Great for Families What's not so great: Control with some games 'quirky'
"The Nintendo Wii (pronounced 'wee') is an innovative video game system that is great for families. Using the Wii remote, the player can simply use motion in order to control on screen activities such as swinging a tennis racket. System comes with Wii Sports game which includes bowling, baseball, tennis, boxing, and golf. System can also connect to the internet wirelessly for downloadable updates and new 'channels' to allow for surfing the internet, getting up to the minute news and weather, even playing old Nintendo Games. If you can find one in a store, pick it up. You could do much worse with $250, and there is a reason that it is sold out everywhere you go."

Wii- great excercise10/08/2007
By pitwitchfrom Brigantine, NJ
What's great about it: Excercise on a rainy day What's not so great: Sore muscles (in a good way)
"My husband, age 35, has been begging me to purchase the Wii console for months. Of course, it is not that easy to get. I did get lucky at Best Buy - they had 6 left. The games are so much fun for the whole family. Rather than sitting on our bums watching the tube, we are standing and exercising with the Wii. My husband especially likes the practice sessions."

Another Wii Convert Here!10/08/2007
By leelpc04from TN
What's great about it: Unique Gameplay Experience, Price What's not so great: Limited # of Solid Titles.....for now!
"I, like so many others before me on these reviews, can't speak highly enough about the Wii. The gameplay is simply FUN, a concept I think lost on many of the new gen game systems. I think the graphics are more than acceptable, clearly not HD but developers have done a good job at making them interesting, ie) Paper Mario. The best part of all is that when I played my Game Cube or PS3 my three year old son would beg to play along with me. I would let him try but he just couldn't grasp the concepts or controls, understandably so. Now with the Wii we can play many games together and he has even beaten me several times at Tennis,( he swings like swating at a bunch of flies). I just hope developers start to realize what a success the Wii is and dedicate more time money into more quality titles. If you can find one get it, you will will be surpirsed at how much fun this thing is!!!"

Nintendo at its best10/07/2007
By RGerryfrom Los Angeles, CA
What's great about it: Innovative, fun, decently priced and great Franchises What's not so great: No HD, lacking online gaming
"When I first bought the Wii back in November of 2006 I had no idea how popular this system would be. I came home empty handed on launch day and ended up purchasing it on Ebay for around $400 (with an extra controller and Zelda: Twilight Princess). Let me say first off that the "throw in" game is probably one of the best games of the year! Nearly a year later and I still love bowling and golf for Wii Sports. The controller: More natural and comfortable of a feel that I ever imagined. This is a great addition to the video game industry which seemed to be stale of innovation and full of "more power" The interface: Simple, yet surprising good. The internet browzer (which is a free download) is a decent addition to the system. I also enjoy the Wii voting channel and the weather interface. Much more involved than I thought when I bought the Wii. Nintendo classic game downloands: Great! Whether you want to play any of the old Zelda, Mario, Metroid, or Punch Out, this is a fast and cheap way to visit some of the golden days of Nintendo. Every hardcore gamer should be thrilled with this addition. Finally, The GAMES: This is a staple of Nintendo. If Microsoft did not have the Halo franchise, Nintendo would mop the floor in this area. From Mario to Zelda, from Samus to Donkey Kong, Nintendo knows how to make franchises and characters that work. You can't put a face on the PS3 and it shows in the numbers. The Wii has done exactly what it was made to do: change the industry. Nintendo has brought casual gamers back to the market as a result of innovation, rather than enhancement. One weakness which I hope Nintendo address is online gaming (such as XBOX Live). Lets bring Nintendo fans together with online gaming! Based on this, I would rate this product 9.5 out of 10."

great value game system10/07/2007
By pavelguardfrom Orlando
What's great about it: easy to pick up gameplay What's not so great: dated graphics
"Wii is a great game system for its value, it's two times cheaper compared to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Nintendo owns and delivers on some of the best franchises in the gaming world Mario, Warrio, Zelda, Metroid. This time around they have a strong third party line up too. On the other hand the system is conceived with the casual gamer in mind and the graphics are imilar to the Gamecube. Wii is the fun shortcut to the gaming world for people who were staying on the sidelines utill now and it's a great system if you're on a budget."

"This gaming system overall is magnificent and be used by practically anyone, along with its features of surfing thew internet right from your den or any where else you would set it up. It's games are as fun as ever. What makes it so great is just the way you play the games, how you are in the game and apart of it...i would 100% recommend this system to anyone."

Entertainment that actually entertains10/07/2007
By TheBoyFromBrasilfrom Tucson, AZ
What's great about it: Innovative and Hands On, Play all classic Nintendo/Sega/TurboGraphix Games, Internet, sleek design, FUN What's not so great: Graphics could be better, Lack of major releases at the moment
"When nintendo first revealed the Wii, first known as "Revolution" there was many mixed feelings towards it. A video game system with, a remote controller? It sure wasn't something we were used to. But luckily for us they stuck with that gamble, a gamble thats received tons of praises and awards. The Wii itsself is not a graphics powerhouse, but wheer it lacks in realism, it makes up double in fun. The Wii controller, or the Wii-mote, uses motion sensing as its controls. It takes two AA batteries and cnnects to a separate controller called the nunchuck. It has no harddrive but has an SD slot in the console to use as a memory card. On top you find two slots for gamecube memory cards and 4 slots for gamecube controllers.
Probably the biggest selling point of the Wii is the fact that through its Virtual Console Store (or VC) you can purchase retro games from the NES, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, Turbographix, and just announced, The Neogeo. Games vary from 5 dollars to 10, depending on the system the game comes from. Also available in the store are previews for upcoming Wii games that are free.
One downside is the lack of great games. Right now some of the best games include The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3: Echoes, and Red Steel. I would recommend waiting until the holiday season when Super smash Brothers Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy comes out. I would recomd the Wii simply because its a fun system that actually gets you in the game. It comes already with Wii Sports, a collection of 6 games that take full advantage of the motion sensor feature. the price as well is awsome, at $249 how could you go wrong? With a wide selection of classics gamecube games, and a full library of old classics from the past, its fun for everybody."

What's great about it: Definitely the best console ever, except for maybe the 360. The graphics are not next gen but the gameplay is!! MARIO What's not so great: -----none------
"Def. the best console on the market. It is extremely fun, and already has some great games. This holiday season is going to be 100 times better with MArio and SSBB. It is already the hottest selling console and will certainly only get better as it goes. ALL Hail NINTENDO!! because if you are a gamer at all you have to respect nintendo, they pretty much started the mainstream video gaming industry."
