What's great about it: good graphics, cheap price
What's not so great: scratches
"the ps2 is a good console to start off with. it has over 1,000 game titles available. it has pretty good graphics and can play online. another good thing about it is that its really small. you can bring it any where with no hassle at all. its also really tough because i dropped it from 3 ft and it still works fine! the only down side is that it scratches easily but other than that its a good console to get."

"The playstation 2 silver is shiny and thinner. The graphics are good. It has an built in adapter so an person can play online. But it scratches and the scratches shows up easily."

"If you can t afford any of the next generation gaming consuls get this. If your not pleased with the graphic(which are very good) get yourself the other video cables (blue,red,green) they wil provid better graphics. this consul with probably have games coming out for it and stay in production for quit some time. this consol looks relly nice it it smoth and hardly ways anything. i had this thing ready in 5 mins. Just conected red,white and yellow cables, pluged in the powerconected everything to ps2 turned tv on turned ps2 on went to video 2 and sett up my time ect"

"This product is great for the price. I bought a black one not long after they came out. Then I went and sold it at a garage sale. I then relized that I missed playing and went to buy one of the newer thinner versions and fell in love with the system. I do look forward to buying a playstation 3 when the price is reduced a little."

"I bought the slim silver it works very well hasent broken down yet and it has ok graphics nothing special. very good selicton of games but no call of duty 4 and halo three. good system over all."

"This is probably the greatest console ever. It can play ps1 games(which I don't have any of). It can play movies and audio disks. Plus the graphics are also A+ as well. The ps3 can do all of those and more but it is the most expensive gaming console on the market at a booming price of 400.00 dollars. who would want to pay that much?!?! To all you review readers out there, drop the thought of a ps3 and buy a ps2 in either silver or the original black."

What's not so great: Brought It at Best Buy For $129.00 I Got Charged Tax For a Total Of $140.00.
"I Brought This System 3 Days Ago I Was Orginally Going to Buy The Bigger Used Playstation 2 That Was The Plan I Had Changed My Mind So Went To Best Buy and Got The Much Slimmer PS2 In Silver So I Had 2 Games When I Opened It Up I Was amazed at how small This Was almost as Small as a Hard book cover the graphics are cool you feel like your in the game i mean forget the Playstation 3 that thing is almost like $400.00 Dollars folks get yourself the much slimmer Playstation 2 Either in Black or Silver it's more affordable."

What's great about it: Quieter, Quicker, Smaller, Better
What's not so great: Still gets warm, Controller feels little flimsy
"With the revised PS3 no longer supporting PS2 games, I decided to replace my dying 1st Gen PS2 with a new Silver 2nd Gen. The new 2nd Gen PS2 runs a lot quieter, but tends to run warm -- although not nearly as bad as the 1st Gen. And the very small size means that I could probably take it on a trip with a few games, for cheap entertainment. Overall, its a much improved product, and an excellent value."
