What's great about it: Easy install and consistent connection
I am renting an older farmhouse and was surprised to find it very difficult to find an active connection to access my DSL. Unfortunately the one jack was no where near where my office was being setup. A quick bit of research and Best Buy's pricing placed this DLink Wireless in my hands. Installation was quick and the linkup with my Wi-Fi was even faster. Signal strength is always Very Good or Excellent. Now I just need to upgrade the router to 802.11n.

What's not so great: Technical installation and pricey
It picks up signal well and carries at full 300mbps. Seasoned tech should have no problem installing

What's great about it: Exactly what I expected from D-Link, another quality product.
What's not so great: Having to download installation software from D-Link to install.
This is my first wireless networking endeavor, and it's been a whole lot easier then I thought it was going to be. I read the reviews on here (bestbuy.com) before buying the products that I bought, and thank god I did!
Using the installation software that came with the card was useless to me, I tried it anyway, and it could not find my new card in the computer. I went to D-Link's support site, and downloaded the most recent installation software, and voila! It's installed!
Only downside is having to go out of your way to download the installation software, what if a buyer didn't read the review first before buying a product? It would give them a bad impression about the product.
I have 4-Stars under value for price because this is a very expensive networking card, I understand that it is wireless-N, but I didn't want to deal with the external parts that other wireless-N cards included with the product, I liked the sleek antennas that come with this product. My daughter would've ripped the external array that comes with other cards apart. At least this way, the antenna in the back is not as blatantly visible as different branded hardware.
I give this item an overall 5-Stars!

What's great about it: Connects at high speeds most of the time.
What's not so great: Distorted Audio
You can go to dlink's site to see the problems they've had with this card for almost a year. After a couple of new driver releases the problem continues. I just hope it hasn't been thirty days since I bought it! This went into a new system build that I've redone at least 5 times, thinking it was either ATI or onboard driver issues. Disable the the driver and the problem goes away.

What's great about it: it went in easy
What's not so great: that's the end of it.....
Had a old WMP54GS linksys card, that i thought was dead. i did some research, and decicied on the DWA 552 N card. Boy, bad decision. It went in ok, and the drivers loaded, (xp sp2) OS, and it was up and running, but pretty slow. Have D-link doal band router. Thats new too.
I had one PC that i put MY old card in, and still couldn't get it running. I tried the USB network setting, and thats when i got the " BLUE SCREEN" crash on mine!! first time for that! I ended up uninstalling the card, and reinstalling it three times, with no success.
I put the old WMP card back into my desktop, and what do you know, it's working again!!

What's great about it: It looks powerful
What's not so great: It worked for 10 minutes
I bought this to replace the standard Dynex wireless G card i put in this desk desktop. I run Windows XP Professional 32 (Normal Windows XP Pro) and within 10 minutes the driver for this thing made my computer BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) twice. While it did work the signal was only at 75% which the standard Dynex card I was using had 85%.
I grant it looks powerful and installs fairly easy but for ten minutes of use, I don't think that's worth roughly $85 including tax. Needless to say I'm going to take it back and try again. Yes I grant I could try to contact D-Link and ask about a working driver to fix my problem, but if it dosen't work out of the box my golden rule is it isn't worth it. Don't waste your time or money on this.
Also to those people who are using any version of Windows Vista, especially avoid this. It doses not have drivers from what I can see so if you're running Windows XP and thinking of going to Vista, this would be an even worse purchase.

What's great about it: Fast, easy installation, good range
What's not so great: Stops working atleast once per day and requires restart
I have been using this product for about 3 months, for the first month i had no issues at all. The card was fast and reliable. After the first month the card would randomly disconnect from the router and not be able to reconnect unless I restart the computer or go into the network connections screen and disable then enable the card. It's annoying when i try remotely connecting to the machine and the connection is offline.
I also have the DLink Xtreme router, bought them together hoping to attain the maximum speed but overall it leaves me missing the reliability of my old G network.

What's great about it: Easy to install; works under xp
What's not so great: Crashes Vista 64 after a few mins
Crashes my Vista 64 computer within 5 minutes. After searching the web I find this is not an isolated issue. Just Google "DWA 552 Vista Freeze" and you will find tons of complaints. It's a driver issue with no resolution as of today.
On the plus note I have one of these cards in my XP machine and it works great.

What's not so great: None to date
Installed this right out of the box, downloaded the updated drivers and have had no problems at all. Easy to install, easy to set up. Works great with the D-Link Xtreme N Wireless-N Gigabit Router DIR-655. Next upgrade for laptop is going to be a D-Link - Xtreme N Wireless-N Notebook ExpressCard DWA-643. I am that impressed with the ease of set up and all around performance of this hardware set.

I recently purchased this as I was having problems with and older g card from linksys. The installation was quick and easy. The connection has been much stronger since the switch, and there have been no random disconnects like with my older card. I am still using XP and don't have any problems.

What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Drivers for this card lock up the system
I've been an avid D-Link user for the past few years. I always thought their routers more reliable than a Linksys. So I decided to get a wireless card for my pc because of my past experience with d-link. Right out of the box there are no drivers on the cd for vista. You have to go to d-links website to download the latest driver. Once you install the driver and find a wireless network, the system completely freezes up. Even the atheros driver does the same thing. Tons of people have complained over the same issue all over the net. D-link support hung up on me when I tried to get them to admit that I was not the only person having the same issue. Good bye d-link, hello Linksys.

I added a PC Adapter so that I can use my desktop away from my cable modem/router connections. I have a D-Link DIR-625 NRouter. The DWA-552 worked right away. I believe in buying networking equipment from the same brand line. I think it saves problems/issue. I'm very satisfied with D-Link.

This product is awesome! I have to do a little research on the D Link website to get it to install and configure into the network but a couple of easy to follow instructions and matched perfectly with the DIR655 D Link wireless router - Done.
Installed on my son's computer who plays MMO's wirelessly and he stated that it is like he is on a wired connection.
