Sad, beautiful, and bloody

"A wonderful anime for any collection. It is probably not suitable for younger viewers and may be a little too violent for some. Nevertheless, Elfen Lied is a wonderful series that is terrifyingly sad and romantic, and has a wonderful plot with likable characters. Elfen Lied offers a change of pace from other kinds of anime and I highly recommend this series, as it is one of my favorites."

What's great about it: Intriguing story, aesthetically pleasing
What's not so great: May be too violent for some
"This is my personal favorite when it comes to anime- the story is very gripping- an interesting play on innocence and violence. There are some very touching moments, and others that leave you feeling incredibly horrified! If you don't mind violence and blood, this is a must-have for your anime collection!"

What's great about it: Complete series; interesting series
What's not so great: -
"Great series - picked it up at random (glad I did). Goes from funny to downright bloody in a matter of minutes. Warning - do not do this series if you are against blood or nudity (no, it is not hentai)."

Violence at it's sweetest!

What's great about it: Violent, entertaining, funny, and a very, very good show.
What's not so great: Short, yet good.
"This series has to be one of the best I have watched in a while. Two cousins find a mysterious girl on the beach (sounds cheesy, I know), but the story dives further into the government, weapons born from humans, and the end of mankind. With only 13 episodes, the show makes up for that with content and a very compelling storyline. Great show, definetly a must have!"

Great Anime

"This is a great short anime of only 13 episodes. It has alot of violence, blood, but it also has it cute moments. Also dispite the violence this series really makes you feel for the characters. The opening song "Lilium" is great I can just sit and watch the opening."

"As close to perfection as an anime horror flick can get. Many twists and turns and the whole thing doesn't come all together until the last few episodes, where Lucy is explained. The music is great, especially the closing song, which encapsulzes Lucy/Nyu and her feelings for the Kouta. I cried throughout much of the last reel...yea, it was that strong. Buy it...NOW!"

One of the greatest horror/sad animes ever made

"Elfen Lied is a horror anime with a lot of blood, nudity, and strong language. The show is really great and I loved every second of it especially the beginning of the series. I would not recommend any little kid watching this but for any older teens and adults it will be perfect if they love horror. It also has a sad story that will most likely make you cry. But everyone I talk to tells me how great of an anime this series is. The voice acting is wonderful in the dubbed versio. The opening and closing songs are both really great and they would make you wish that they came out with a soundtrack just so you can listen to the full version of the songs. Highly recommended and I give it a 10 out of 10."
