What's great about it: good price, easy to understand, cheap games and accesories What's not so great: going out of business due to the ps3, some of the newer ones don't work with certain games, too many cords for my taste
"i got it a long time ago and it works great still. it would be a great system for children that might break things or are younger. it's cheap, semi-durable, and has pretty decent games. guitar hero and rock band still come out for this console, but if you plan on having it for a while, i would suggest something else since it's slowly losing popularity."

What's great about it: Comes with all you need to start. What's not so great: Brakes easily, disk trays are better than what it has
"value for price - 4 stars because i really like a lot about the play station 2 but there are so many other better systems like the x-box 360 and the play station 3. Design - 4 stars because its small and fits in tight places and i find that nice because it looks better wen you have company over and stuff. Durability - 3 stars because i once saw a video testing a x-box, game cube ,and playstaton 2, thay were testing the duribility. The ps2 came in last after the x-box, and game cube. Fun - 4 stars because I have had a ps2 for a long time had a lot of fun with it over the years but at one point it just got boring. I think I just need to buy newer games though."

"There is definitely a lot to chose from in terms of console systems but the PS2 still has plenty of fun games for me. I like what I have seen on the PS3 but it is a bit pricey right now. Bottom line: PS2 still has a lot of life left."

"I had mine for quite a few years and it finally broke down on me. It was fun while it lasted and it went through quite a bit but it stopped reading the discs. They are cheap enough that I might buy another one just to have but I enjoy my 360 and Wii too much so I probably won't play it if I bought one."

"Compared to the original PS2, this version is a work of art. I don't think pictures really describe how great it looks and how small it is. It has already drawn many 'oohs' and 'aaahs' from my friends.
One thing I didn't expect was the inclusion of an IR port. I had the old remote control for the PS2 that required you plug that big IR receiver into the memory card port. I figured the old remote wouldn't work on the new machine but it does! And without any attachments at all.
The only reason not to get this system is perhaps if you need to use the hard drive add-on, although I think only one or two games (EverQuest is the only one I know of) actually use it."
