Rockin' Guitar!

What's great about it: lightweight, shoulder strap, uses little battery power
"We have had this guitar for 4 months and have not had to change the battery yet. It works great. The range on the sensor is perfect, and the controls are easy to use. We highly recommend this guitar."

Great product

What's great about it: Works great and no wires What's not so great: Just a bit on the small side
"So far this is an excellent product. I gave my Gibson Kramer wireless guitar that came in the Guitar Hero 3 bundle to my 11 year old daughter, and was stupid enough to buy the React Reaper for me before reading the reviews on here. Two days after I bought the Reaper, I had to take it back because it was already not working and it was very poorly made. I then took it back and bought this guitar instead and I am very glad that I did. I know some people have been complaining about it not working with Guitar Hero 3, but I assure you it does. I have the first three Guitar Hero games and it works with all of them. The only thing I noticed in the third Guitar Hero is that for some reason with this guitar's whammy bar to work the first time you play, you have to go into the controller options and calibrate it. That only takes a few seconds and you only have to do it the first time you play (as far as I can tell so far), so that's not a problem it all."

Well worth the money!

What's great about it: No tripping over cords in small areas as well as being durable. What's not so great: Should have purchased it sooner!
"I purchased guitar hero 2 for my son and daughter-in-laws Christmas present and they were ecstatic.I think they were even happier when i gave this to them for their birthday presents.Since they live in a rather small apt.,they can enjoy playing the game a lot more now without the worries of tripping over cords.Between them and their friends this thing gets bumped around somewhat yet the product has been trouble free.As a parent you love to see your kids with a smile on their face no matter what age.Looks like dad did good on this one!!!"

Solid GH controller
01/26/2008
By HeadHunterfrom Buffalo, NY
What's great about it: Excellent whammy bar What's not so great: Fret buttons often stick
"I purchased this controller because I needed a guitar that would work with my GH games and Rock Band for PS2. Overall, I am very satisfied.
This is the "standard" controller so accessories such as skins are easy to find for it. I really like the Whammy bar, it's solid and springy and handles use very well. Star Power is mostly reliable on it, but I got the React effect pedal (see my other reviews) to help with that.
The wireless functionality is easy - plug the receiver into the console and turn on the guitar, that's all you have to do! The sleep function extends battery life for absent-minded players who forget to turn it off, and if the controller sleeps, you need only turn it off and back on and it's ready to go!
My only real complaint is that sometimes, the fret buttons (especially the red one) tend to stick when pressed down. I noticed this not only on my own guitar but also on the demo models used for the games in the store. It's not serious and hasn't resulted in missed notes but it lacks the smooth feeling I get from my 360 Xplorer or RB Stratocaster frets."

Great wireless
01/09/2008

"This guitar works great. I have had no problems with the wireless link. It has a nice feature where the guitar turns itself off after a long period of non-use to save batteries. To reset, all you have to do is turn it off then back on. I also have a lot of experience with xbox 360 wired guitars. I was wondering how the feel was going to compare on this PS2 wireless and can hardly notice a difference. I regularly use this about 15 feet from the PS2 and have never had an issue."

"This is an excellent controller. I've had the Shredder guitar and the Frontman and had to return both of them because the whammy bar didn't work properly. This guitar is by far the best of the three. Someone claimed that this controller didn't work with guitar hero 3. It works great with guitar hero 1,2, AND 3!...check your batteries"

Great wireless, but not the original
09/16/2007
By penguin
"This is easily the best wireless guitar for the PS2 out there. I've had no problems with the connection, and you can play from quite a ways away. The whammy bar is stronger than the original wired SG controller, so if you're one to lay on it hard, this is a good pick for you. The only problem I had with this was the depth to which the buttons decreased. In the original wired controller, the buttons don't go all the way down. I learned on that controller, and when moving my fingers around for harder songs I used the ridges to tell where the buttons were. In this wireless controller, the buttons decrease all the way down. So when moving fingers around for faster songs, it's harder to gauge where the buttons are--I end up sliding my hand too far. Other than that, this is a quality controller. If you're looking for a second guitar and you want to go wireless, I highly recommend this one."

"this is a great controller that lets you play anywhere in the room, only problem is that star power doesn't always work, but otherwise the buttons are really good too."
