What's great about it: Image quality, f/2.8, 50mm, Price (compared to some other options)
What's not so great: 50mm
This really is a very good lens. On Pentax's DSLRs, it is a 75mm equivalent 2.8 macro with 1:1 magnification. Many people prefer a longer working distance (i.e. 90mm, 100mm, 150mm) if your primary macro subjects will be insects, but for my purposes this lens gives me a great relatively low-light lens with fantastic macro capabilities at a workable distance.
I'd love the 35mm macro limited - because it would give an added bonus of being close to a 'normal' (50mm) lens - but that leaves you with even less working distance for macro. In the end, this lens proved the best entry point for me for macro work, came for less than other options, is built solidly, and ultimately has excellent image quality.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: very high quality pictures, lightweight/small
What's not so great: none!
purchased this lens about a month ago. use on a k110d 6.1mp. takes magnificent macro photos. pentax cameras ability to alter the photo in raw mode gives you great flexibility with this lens. it has very smooth focusing and can be used in a wide variety of conditions and photographic environments.
I would recommend this to a friend!
