Won't clean really dirty clothes or do jeans well because it becomes unbalanced. It will not get the sizing out of the clothes until they are washed about 7 times. We go to the laundry to get clean clothes!

What's great about it: Washer is super quiet
What's not so great: There is an odor coming out of the washer.
The washer has worked great so far. Has a big capacity and is very quiet. There is an odor that comes out of the washer even after it sits empty for a week.

What's great about it: Ease of use; Quiet; Great Results
What's not so great: Not having bought it sooner!
I read each and every review of this product and others and compared many products based on performance, cost and use. I was close to purchasing the LG comparable to these units, but learned that unless you are on a solid surface (concrete, ranch etc.) the machine will travel. Something about the suspension. I bought this model and its gas dryer pair because of manufacturer reputation and personal references. Read the manual and understand the machine is step one. My first load was 8 pairs of jeans and it washed in 48 minutes (much faster than my 22 yr old Amana set). The jeans required less drying time. Ours are installed on a second floor laundry closet adjacent to a bedroom. I appreciate the ease of use and how darn quiet they are! I also invested a little more money and bought the laundry worksurface (well worth the money) and the extended warranty because of the electronics. Minor investment for long term use. Feel confident in your choice of these machines. I just love them. I wish I had made the investment sooner.

What's great about it: Great money saver
What's not so great: Wrinkles my jeans
This uses much less hot water, spins the clothes almost dry so we save money on drying clothes as well. The only real complaint is that it wrinkles the legs on my jeans. My public utilities also gave me a rebate for buying it.

What's great about it: spins clothes well
What's not so great: don't clean well for dirty people
We've had this machine for 7months now. It does fine with lightly soiled clothes but for three boys and smelly work out clothes I frequently must add a few spoonfuls of bleach to get out mildew smells or very heavily odorous clothes. It's a hassle. It uses so little water that the "hot" water setting isn't really giving the effect of "hot' water that our old top loader did. I wish we had bought a conventional top loader or a washer with a steam feature. Be Warned!

What's great about it: Price
What's not so great: Didn't work more than 5 minutes
After much research and recommendations (including a repair person) we decided to buy a whirlpool. We bought this machine and it was delivered the next day. We read the directions and ran a load right away. After 5 minutes the machine died (lost power) with our bedding sitting in water, locked inside it. We did not blow a fuse, and the outlet was working. OUr bedding was locked inside a hot wet washer! Best Buy was great and had techs out that day to get our stuff out. The tech said the pwer board was bad. He also mentioned that he works on this particular model ALL the time for the same reason. We recommended Samsung instead, so that is what we went with and have been happy.

What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Customer Service; Control Board and circuitry
To start with, the washer was delivered not working and the flow meter had to be replaced. Two weeks after the warranty runs out, the circuit boards, plural, go out. Whirlpool agreed to replace the circuit boards, but would not pay for the service call. It is now five weeks later and we are still waiting for the third visit from "A&E" to get the washer up and running.

What's great about it: Stackable unit that doesn't take up much space.
What's not so great: "Sours" clothes quickly if you do not remove immediately after washer is finished.
This washer will wash your clothes and is slightly more convenient to load and unload. However, if you do not place the clothes in the washer properly, they will come out all tangled up. Also, because the front loaders must be water/air tight, the clothes will begin to sour quickly so you will have to remove the clothes from the washer almost immediately after the cycle is done or wash the clothes again.

What's great about it: Quiet!!!!!
What's not so great: None so far
Bought this washer when moved into a new home. Had a Kenmore high-end front loader for about 4 1/2 years in old home and liked it, but it was really loud. Have a main floor laundry off the kitchen, and the noise from the old one drove us nuts! This one is whisper quiet...I don't even have to keep the door to the laundry room closed! Clothes also come out with less water on them, so drying time is reduced.

What's great about it: Cleans better, energy savings, clothes come out drier
What's not so great: None so far
After 24 years we just replaced our old Maytag. After reading Consumer Reports, a Whirlpool front loader was what we were looking for. We chose this model rather than the next model up as there were plenty of cycles on this one and that seemed to be the biggest difference. It actually gets out stains my previous washer could not. Clothes come out drier and save on dryer time. Seems easier on the clothes too. Love the hand wash cycle. No more handwashing in the sink. Have only had it a few months, but so far it is great. Also, with a well and septic tank, it is nice that it uses far less water and electricity. My old washer probably used around 40 gallons and this one around 10 to 12.

What's great about it: Easy to use, gentle on clothes, low energy/water use
What's not so great: Without pricey pedestals it's low, but bearable
When my 18 year old Whirlpool died, I wasn't sure what to replace it with and technology had changed so much. I researched everything thoroughly and decided to stick with Whirlpool. I read the owners manual well and followed all their recommendations, bought Tide HE detergent (found everywhere) and haven't looked back. It's been over a month now. Clothes come out in good shape, not tangled. Just leave the door slightly ajar and I have had no problems with smell or mildew--it dries out quickly. My machine is on a main floor over a basement. I've had no problems with "walking" and the machine is very quiet. I am pleased with my purchase. Thanks to all who gave it good reviews that convinced me to buy!

What's great about it: Clothes are very clean. Quick wash cycles.
What's not so great: none yet
Excellent machine thus far -- clothes come out clean and fresh. The wash cycles are great -- cut down the time to do the wash by half (compared to my previous Maytag Neptune front loader). And, it costs cheaper than the Maytag Neptune that I purchased about 8-10 years ago.

What's great about it: Delay wash, energy efficient, uses less water
What's not so great: None
I have truly enjoyed using the Whirlpool Duet 4.0 Cu. Ft. 10-Cycle Ultra Capacity Plus Washer - White-on-White. Delay wash saves my time during the workweek...a load of wash is done by the time I get home. It is energy efficient, and also uses less water than the older, top load washer models. Great variety of temperature settings...so my varied laundry needs are met. This is the best appliance purchase I've made. In addition, the Best Buy delivery crew was on time, very professional and knowledgeable.

What's great about it: Super capacity, uses minute amount of water, entertaining to watch
What's not so great: expensive up front
I'm a mom of six children, including 3 children ages 4 and under and a pre-teen boy who loves to catch frogs, snakes, and other creatures of the muddy creeks. Before we purchased this washer three months ago, we averaged 31 loads of laundry per week. This washer has cut that amount down to a much more manageable 22 loads per week. Our old washer was HE like this one, but it did not clean the clothes as well, and it definitely could not handle the dirt my son grinds into his clothes. This washer has beautifully handled everything we have given it from baby laundry to wet bed sheets to my teenage daughter's wash-on-delicates-only jeans. It can handle 16 pairs of jeans. I have only ever used the "normal" amount of detergent unless my boy has tons of mud then I just go one notch up. Additionally, our water bill has gone down by $25 a month. Nice. Very nice. The kids even enjoy watching the laundry wash and dry on occasion. Initially, they watched it while sitting on chairs. While I don't do that myself, I can tell at a glance if we have a load in the washer, so nothing gets forgotten overnight and gets mildewy. Following the advice of others, I have made certain to dry the gasket around the front and I have left the door open over night. I recommend the pedestal drawers as well. If you don't have young kids, you can use them for your laundry supplies. If you do have young kids and a laundry closet like me, the kids can sort their laundry in those hidden places, so your hall is not a mess.

What's great about it: Water savings, larger loads
I bought the set and I love them. I have had them 6 months now. The water savings is huge. Using less detergent it lasts longer. The price has gone down a little since I bought them, but I am so pleased with the results that I wish I had bought them sooner.

What's great about it: LARGE LOAD
What's not so great: WHIRLPOOL HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
This is my second Whirlpool washer I have had to replace in the last 2-1/2 years. You would think the premium price you pay for this front loader that if you have any problems they would be taken care of immediately by Whirlpool! (WRONG!!!) The washer just stopped working. After 4 visits and 3 MONTHS without a washer Whirlpool finally agreed to replace the washer as a "courtesy" Their warranty is repair only. I can't tell you how many calls I had to make to Whirlpool and of course everytime it's with a different person so you have to explain your problem AGAIN and AGAIN. I know I will never purchase another Whirlpool product!!

What's great about it: quiet operation
What's not so great: cold water wash isn't possible, wash cycles are too long
I discovered that in order to do a cold wash, the machine dumps hot water directly on clothes. I contacted Whirlpool who informed me that their "Sixth Sense" technology brings water temperature to 70 degrees for all cold water washes (which isn't cold at all), but mixes the water temperature by dumping hot directly on your clothes instead of before it gets to your clothes. Except that I measured the temperature in my "cold wash" and it was 88 degrees, which is almost hot enough for a hot tub. If you turn off the hot water spigot so only cold water enters your machine, the washer will not run and will give an error message. DO not buy this if you ever need to wash anything in cold water. You will NOT be able to wash any delicates without shrinking them.

What's great about it: holds a lot of clothes
What's not so great: ties clothes in knots
I replaced my old Kenmore laundry set instead of having them repaired, due mostly to co-worker accolades. It was a mistake and I hope I can still return them. I do like that they hold more clothes than my old ones and that the washer uses less water, however I dont see any superior cleaning advantage at all. The washer ties the clothes in knots. I find myself spending a lot of time and effort untangling the clothes to get them in the dryer. Even after untangling and drying there are still some creases in the clothes because the washer tangled and creased them so tightly.
Now about the dryer. I do kind of like the dryer mostly because it holds a large amount but that is about it. You cant believe the estimated drying time display ie: it will estimate 17 minutes drying time remaining you come back in 30 minutes and it is still displaying 17 minutes or maybe 15 minutes, it's like football time how a one hour game actually takes three hours. I just use the timed drying now which is no better than my old set.
I wolud not buy them again.
