What's great about it: quiet and hold s a 1/2 keg with no problem and still have room for a few loose bottles
What's not so great: Cheap built and inside is all plastic and poor insulation. Thought it would have been better quialty for the $$
Got this as a wedding present about 3 years ago. About 2 weeks into it one of the spot welds broke on the cheap railing. Months later I had to replace the cheap stock faucet that it came with. Replaced it with a nice "Perlick" brand faucet. The stock one sticks and gums up and requires more frequent cleaning / scrubbing and is just cheap junk. Now the problem I have is the buttons on the front quit working. unplugged it and thought it might reset and work but gonna have to make a service call and replace the front keys. Temp gauge still works but thats it , unit stays at 41 deg . colder outsdie then inside my kegerator.
This product has... A quiet design, Multiple temperature zones, out side temp gauge

What's great about it: Looks!
What's not so great: Please read my review
I purchased this unit in August 2011. Had to pay shipping, assembly, and installation. After I got the unit assembled, I plugged it in for a test. All seemed to work fine. Next, I purchased a 1/2 bl. of draught beer. Installed the keg, set temp. to 34 degrees. Waited 24 hours before I drew a brew. Lots of foam. Checked Co2. Approx 9 lbs. psi. Should be ok. Next, checked the temp inside the unit (set for 34) temp, inside was almost 40 degrees. Lowered temp to lowest range. after an hour, drew another brew. Foam again. Temp inside unit approx, 38. After some research, the tower does not get cold enough to help stop the foam. Now I must find a way to get more cool air into the tower. Another item was how do I keep the temp inside the unit constant? I then placed a 33K ohm resistor in parallell with the units sensor. This allowed me to lower the temp to 30 on the readout. Now the temp inside the unit is closer to 33 and seems to be more constant. You have to be very careful when putting a 1/2 bl. in because the inside is all plastic and using the base grill does not give you much room to tap the keg when it is inside. Since I have placed the mod on the sensor, my warranty is now null and void. But the unit works better. I am going to install a small fan inside the unit to help circulate the air therefore hoping to get more cool air to the tower. I also sealed the unit via plumbers putty around all hoses and sides to help seal the unit as well. All in all I am not happy with the unit and I would return same if I had a chance to get a full refund. If you figure draught beer vs. can/bottled beer, you save approx. $4.00 per case. So, depending on how much beer you use, the break even point is not too great. Respectfully, one unhappy person. . . . . .
This product has... poor design for cooling

What's great about it: Runs quiet, good price
What's not so great: Hard to set up, directions are confusing
Whats great about it:
You can barely here it running. Also make sure that the unit is leveled
The unit keeps the beer very cold, I can maintain the temp in the mid 30's
What's not great about it:
The directions to put it together are bad and hard to understand
My dual regulator was broke, I contacted Danby and they never got back to me
This product has... A quiet design, Multiple temperature zones

I got this kegerator for root beer on tap. and I love it. Every thing works great, other people say it may not get cold enough but it is plenty cold for me. the thermostat jumps around temps ranging on it from 34 to 41 when its set at 36. but it is still plenty cold for me.

What's great about it: Has ran flawlessly for 3-4 years now.
What's not so great: Works better with two inexpensive mods
No issues after years of saving money on beer. 2 recommended mods are inserting a resistor at the temp sensor in order to drop the temperature down a bit more and inserting a cheap computer blower and attaching tubing to it then running the tubing into the tower, this keeps the tower temperature cool.

Worked perfect for about a year, nice and cold beer. Then the refriderator cooling unit starting having issues. When it would turn on, it sounded like a dying cow giving birth. It would be almost continuous if the temp is set lower than 40f.

What's great about it: Having beer on tap rather than a bottle
What's not so great: CO2 is empty and wait time the first time you set it up
The PSi is recommended to be 10-12. When you first hook it up you need to let the keg set, or you will have a lot of foam. I think a took me a day or two for it to settle. This is great if you like to entertain. My friends always come over and ask for a beer. The knob gets stuck if you do not use it in a while, so you need to pull the knob hard the first time you use it.

What's great about it: Cool Super Tasty Beer
What's not so great: Make sure you remove rubber taste
Before you drink any beer remove the checkball and plastic holder from the keg coupler. We just got the unit a week ago and the beer is awesome. But the first night the beer tasted like rubber... This is not because the unit is new, its because the plastic holder for the checkball gives bad odor and taste. This tastes way better than bottled beer... Just make sure to take that piece out. It is the part that connects to the hose going to the tower, there is actually an extra rubber washer that is included which replaces it. I highly recommend going green with your beer bottles and the boxes.

What's great about it: No more returning bottles and cans !!!
What's not so great: none
This kegerator works perfectly, keeps the beer cold and there is no out of control foam, like others report.... Just need to pour the beer properly. The thermosat on the front and the casters to roll the unit around is an added bonus !!! Very easy to set up and there is no reason to modify... I highly recommend purchasing one.

What's great about it: Ice cold draft beer.
What's not so great: Too high of a minimum temp setting.
This kegerator does work well, but it could stand a tweak or two. In response to the reviewer below, a the beer does need to be kept at 10-12 PSI to no go flat. The problem is that the Danby won't keep the beer cold enough to not have out of control foam at 10-12 psi. There is a simple and cheap fix though. With a 40 cent 33K ohm resistor purchased from radio shack, I am now keeping my beer just above freezing. I am set at 10.5 PSI and get about a 1/2" of foam on my first pull and about a quarter inch after that. The resistor needs to be installed in parallel with the temp sensor that is located behind a plastic grill on the lower left of the inside of the fridge. Just search "Danby resistor mod" and you find plenty of results to guide you through the maybe 5 minute process.
Overall I'm very happy with this purchase, and have ended up building a permanent bar in my home around it.

What's great about it: Cold beer low foam
What's not so great: Settings suggested in manual inaccurate
I love my kegorater, I've had it 8 months and its 68 beers from paying itself off, I bought one for my boss as a birthday/Christmas present today because of my satisfaction. my only complaint is that it states there should be a range of 10-12 psi of the minimum for the co2, in reallity the min range should be 2-6 otherwise it will foam too much and you will be waiting 2-4 beers to get a full 16 ounce beer give or take .75 inches of head

What's great about it: price, looks
What's not so great: temp SLIGHTLY inaccurate
This kegerator is great for the price. The only fault I can find is that my temp was actually 39 degrees when it said that it was 38. Checked with a good liquid thermometer I borrowed from a friend. I can certainly deal with that. My neighbor bought this also, and he loves it too.
I don't know what the previous reviewer meant by misleading description, it says it holds 1/4 and 1/2 kegs of beer. It's common knowledge that a full 15.5 gallon keg is called a half barrel and a half 7.75 gallon keg is called a 1/4 barrel because a Barrel is legally defined as 31 gallons. So advertising that it holds 1/4 and 1/2 kegs is pretty clear to me that it holds full kegs and pony kegs.

I am very happy with my recent purchase. The benifit of having a fresh keg of beer is definetly worth the initial exspense. No more cans, bottles and empty cardboard boxes to deal with. The beer is much colder then coming out of a full size refrigerator and taste great.

Bottom line is that this is a good kegerator for the price. Stylish enough for the kitchen or bar, and functional. Comes with everything you need to start dispensing full-size, commercial kegs (minus the keg itself, and a Co2 charge). With very little modification, you can use it for dispensing home brew.
The temperature range (36 - 46 F) is a little limited (I would have liked a higher setting, setting much lower will freeze the beer), and I've read many reports about temperature control problems, and inaccuracy with the DKC645BLS. Despite the negative reviews I found, I decided on this purchase since I've found guides to mitigate these problems, and because this model is far less expensive than other brans.
Personally, I haven't been concerned enough to gauge the temperature of my beer against the temperature readout on the display. It comes out cool enough to satisfy me. The tower doesn't stay very cool, so the first beer is a little warmer (and more foamy) than it should be. Thats about the worst of my complaints.
I believe the description is misleading in that this does hold a full keg. Double check the manual to confirm that though if it's a major concern of yours.
