What's great about it: The ipod nano is out of the way with big letter controls on the receiver display
What's not so great: It had to be installed since it attaches on the rear left side; easy to attach; but

"I got the ipod direct cable for free along with the receiver; the cable attaches to the rear of the receiver and goes into the glove box where in the ipod nano was plugged in. The receiver was much easier to navigate than using the ipod control face. I really like this set up. I am buying a second receiver with direct link as they really make it easy to drive and an change songs or playlists. It looks so easy to install; but one would have to crawl under the receiver to reach the place or remove the receiver; hence I had it installed for about $20. It is still a great deal. I find it so much easier to control and use the ipod through the receiver Pioneer 3000IB with the direct ipod cable. I am not sure how it will work in my other car; but the one I have now is great. I have not found any negative observations or experiences with it."

What's great about it: plug and play
What's not so great: won't charge iPhone or iPod Touch

"I installed this cable so it comes out in the center console.
My iPod or iPhone can be out of sight and I can control it from my Pioneer receiver.
So sweet.
It doesn't charge the iPhone though so you'll need a special splitter to listen to music and charge at the same time."

So Easy to Use 06/09/2008

What's great about it: Control your iPod (iPhone in my case) from the CD deck.
What's not so great: Doesn't always work right away with my iPhone (I sort of expected that).

"I'm glad I bought this. I had been using the phono auxiliary plug to listen to my iPhone but the cable started cutting out on me. I got this so that I can plug the iPhone directly into the deck and control it from the deck. It works! I didn't think that it would. I was skeptical as many "made for iPod" accessories don't work with the iPhone. Sometimes it does have a problem working right. I think it has to do with the order in which I turn on and plug in the iPhone. Sometimes it just shows an error message and other times it works fine. I tried it with my brothers iPod and it worked fine each time so it's not something wrong with this cable. It's just that the cable wasn't made to work with the iPhone.

I look forward to continuing to use this great product. You should get one. Eventually I'm going to get an iPod specifically for my car and I'll keep it plugged into the stereo but hidden in the glove box or something like that.

This cable also charges the iPod and iPhone so you don't have to worry about draining the battery while listening to it in the car.

Get one! It's a great deal especially considering a phono auxiliary cable is about $19.99. This allows you to control your iPod and charge it to. It's such a great product."

What's great about it: Full iPod control with cd deck, everything!
What's not so great: None

"I just installed this wire on my Pioneer DEH-P4900IB CD deck and absolutely love it! I ran the wire under my carpet, drilled a hole for the wire to run through in my center console and now i can hook up my iPod and hide it in my center console! The hookup is really easy too. Even though I wired my amp and subs, speakers and installed my deck on my own, i would say that putting this wire in is something EVERYONE can do! I can use my cd deck to control it and its a great product! Go buy it now!"
