I bought this game mainly for my 9 year old who loves Mario. It was the wrong game that he wanted but he still seems to like it.

What's great about it: Good competitive fun.
What's not so great: The "MC" is really, really annoying.
This game is fun for hours and hours. It has a large variety of games and game play, from different player modes and settings to special mini-games.
I disagree with the reviews that say this game is no fun for adults. It's certainly a good choice for adults who like to play board games and video games.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A simple game to play that is catered to young kids. My 5 and 4 year olds love it. Good harmless fun. Lots to see and do but for the most part, pretty boring for anyone over the age of 10.

What's great about it: Great for family game night
What's not so great: Long gameplay
Mario Party 8 is a game ideal for a family 4 (or 5) with 4 Wii controllers and a couple of hours of alloted playing time. The game is fun, the graphics are great with lots of different mini-games. Younger players at not necessarily at a disadvantage since moving around the "board" is diced-based and some mini-games don't need special skills. In the end, bonus stars are given to players who reached certain achievements (spent the most, used the most candy, stopped most on a space of a particular color) -- so you can unexpectedly end up winning even if you didn't get the most stars.
It's been months since we played this game as a family after we moved on to Mario Kart Wii and now Rock Band and Guitar Hero. But Mario Party 8 was (and still is) a good game to play once in a while.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This game is really fun to play with family or friends. It is a typical mario game with lots of minigames,but not much stages.But I really like it.

I dont understand all of the negative reviews on this game. I think it is a great game just to pick up and play with the family. The graphics on this game surpass any other Mario Party game. Maybe I just like the game a lot because I have been a fan ever since N64. You should get this game if you like to have fun.

I think I am in love with this game more than my kids. I love it. It is so amusing and just a good time. We play for hours but feel as if only minutes have gone by. I strongly reccommend this game to any family

What's great about it: The different levels to play. Def worth the price. The game store to unlock other things in this game
What's not so great: ALWAYS having to press the A button. Game Glitches
I enjoy this game soo much!!! My and my best friends play this after a HARD, long week @ work!! The only thing I have to complain about is the Glitches that are in the game. Especially when we are playing a game.. the loser would be crowned the WInner!! not fair ;(

What's great about it: Mini games are very entertaining, fun and easy for the whole family.
What's not so great: Not enough levels. Also have to put up with hitting the a button between everything you do.
My wife and I play this game alot when the kids go to bed. We enjoy challenging each other. Its loads of fun when you have four people partying together.

What's not so great: Graphics, Games are easy, Stupid without 4 people, and only 2 games that i even like a litlle bit...
This game was one of the first games I bought with my Wii, because the Commercial made it look very convincing... but don't let the commercial fool you. This game doesn't have very many good games. Maybe for kids 10 and under. Then I would recommend it but i'm 13 and I think this is a waste of money. But still would recommend it to kids 10 and under...

What's not so great: No widescreen 16:9 ratio for the game boards
Having owned and played the previous Mario Partys on my gamecube, i was hoping to be blown out of the water with the wii version. But i wasn't. I was hoping for more game boards and a better variety of mini games. Not having the 16:9 ration during game play makes it difficult to see even on a 46" tv. All in all, i am still a huge Mario party fan and i look forward to a much better and widescreen version on Marty party 9!

What's not so great: After you beat it you it's really boring
This game came with the wii console I got and it was really fun at first. It wasn't very hard to beat this game 100% because it's for kids but if you're older it's pretty easy to beat it. Every time you beat something you get carnival cards to buy things with, but once you buy everything you just keep getting carnival cards and there's nothing to do with them. I think nintendo should have put more thought into this game.
