I bought these for an older computer to use and help increase its ram from 1 to 3. RAM is really important for multitasking and boot up times. If you are looking for a cheap way to help you computer go fast until you can buy a one with a faster processor and more RAM, buy this as a hold off. Really easy to install. First, just tell geek squad your computer type and they with tell you what size RAM you need to fit. Then once you get the right type, just plug it in the RAM plugs inside the computer (most have 4, but only 2 may be filled). Then turn on your computer, it will say recognized RAM if you did it right. Then BOOM, finished.
What's great about it: Speeds up your computer greatly.

Not much to say. I installed the RAM and it works well. The computer went from a slug to running great. The RAM is used in a business computer so I cannot compare to how well it works for games. It works well in the business environment and we now have enough to spare so when Microsoft continues to do their memory hogging updates, we will have memory to spare...for a while.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this because I wanted it now and have the chash for it. it was the only ddr2 1gb x2 card they have in the store. I should of oder a different Bran for like 1/2 the price of this, But who am i to say i am a newbie to pc modifying.
Dose the Bran name really matter?
What's great about it: made my computer faster (upgrade from 528mb)
What's not so great: Expensive compair to other bran

My computer developed bad RAM and kept crashing. I replaced the old RAM with this one and the problems immediately disappeared. I needed something in stock at the store right away so I ordered this one. I'm sure Best Buy has a better deal elsewhere on this site for this type of RAM as long as you're willing to have it shipped. They're usually good about delivery, so that is the way to go in my opinion.

Easy to install. worked fine. Not sure at the end of the day it pays to upgrade old machines. New machines are fairly inexpensive

What's not so great: Vista is still the worst

I ordered two sets of this memory and it showed up about a week later. It took about 5 minutes to install, then I installed Windows 7 professional 64 bit and its like I have a brand new computer.
What's great about it: Good product Fair price

This PNY Optima 2-Pack 1GB PC2-5300DR2 DDR2 DIMM Memory was just what I needed. It had easy to install instructions, and when I was finished, my computer had 3 times more memory than it had before. It works great and is noticably faster than before.
What's great about it: I now have 3 times the memory I had before.

Needed to uprage the memory in my son's desktop. The install was easy, 1,2,3. No problems with the install disk at all and computer recognized it immediately. Have had problems in the past with upgrading, but not with this
product.

Buy something else. Bought 2 gigs of this memory and one gig did not work. When I do replace the one gig of memory that didn't work I will not be using PNY.

I’ve used PNY products before and have never been pleased with the performance. They use cheap materials which fail easily or plain out don’t work. A prime example is their RAM, I run my own PC repair business and I have customers bringing in this type of memory because it’s on sale at Best Buy, Staples, etc, etc. I do my part and install the memory but I have only had 1 set of PNY memory work in a PC and it was actually slower after the upgrade. I have helped spread the word in my area that PNY is NOT a reliable brand and to stay away from the PNY brand in general. Stay with the brands that work such as Crucial which is a great memory.
What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Does not work
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I had a little trouble installing these at first but then all was well. For the price you can't really complain too much about the performance. I had 2 gigs Ram to start with on 32 Bit Vista Home Premium. This memory upgrade bumped me up to 4 gigs although it's really only 3.5 or whatever. I haven't noticed my computer running any faster, I know about 32 bit and 64 bit windows how 64 can utilize more ram than 32 bit. But for the price, it's an easy upgrade for anyone that needs more speed.
What's great about it: The price
What's not so great: Don't know yet

PC is noticeably faster on start up and loading programs. Upgrade went in w/o a hitch.
What's great about it: easy to install.
What's not so great: Didn't get it at sale price, other then that would have gave it a 5.

Installation was a snap and bumped up an older machine to the max 2GB and more than doubled the performance.
What's great about it: Picked up 2GB for $40 on sale

Vista's performance was improved going from 2GB to 4GB!! Also went from 32-bit to 64-bit because of having the 4GB of ram!!
What's great about it: Paid $49.99!!!!! bought 2!!!!
What's not so great: None at sale price.

I got this last week for 50.00! Great deal for 2 GB, and original price of 200.00. Work was too cheap to upgrade my memory so I did it myself. Call me crazy but a slow PC at work isn't fun to deal with all day! WORKS GREAT.

It took about 3 minutes to install the memory and Once I powered up my PC there was an INSTANT noticeable difference. I put it in an Inspiron 531s with Vista that I bought for the kids, I was not happy with the PC at all, so I tried MORE RAM, and suprisingly enough, it solved the problem. I am very pleased with the results!
What's great about it: Instant speed...
What's not so great: None so far

What a great deal, almost 75% off! Don't know anything about PNY though, could be a cheap-o company but hey... I couldn't pass this up! So far works great, definitely recommend to others looking for a memory upgrade for their PCs.
