Worst CD player

What's great about it: absolutely nothing
What's not so great: It stopped working after about a week of use.
"This cd player was horrible. It stopped working about a week after I bought it, and even when it did work it was really loud. I could hear it playing over my music. It sounded like it was eating the cd."

What's great about it: works great, sounds excellent
What's not so great: does not include power cord which must be purchased separately
"This product works great. The only problem is that a power cord is not included. You must buy the cord separately. (Jensen 1700 universal power cord) As long as you follow the directions for the power cord properly, the power cord will provide endless power. This power cord will save you the trouble of continually buying batteries."

What's great about it: it worked good the first couple of days
What's not so great: did not play cd's after about a week
"I bought this cd player thinking that it was going to be a good value coming from Best Buy, not! It played good for a couple of days. Then I had to keep buying batteries. Not a good brand!!!!!!!!!"

Pay more and get a better player

What's great about it: Inexpensive, works well at first
What's not so great: Doesn't last long, won't play CD-Rs, bad skip protection, needs to stay perfectly flat, can't handle any scratches, etc.
"I bought this CD player when my MP3 player went bust and I wasn't ready for a new one. I figured that even a cheap player should last for a bit, right? Wrong.
At first it worked pretty well, though it wouldn't play any of my burned CDs. But there are certain CDs it just can't play, even though they aren't particularly dirty or scratched; it just has no tolerance for any imperfections. It also never liked starting up in the cold, meaning I have to take it inside with me from my car whenever I go to work and have to warm it up before using it. All electronics do this, but I've never seen any device need it to this degree.
Then as time went on it became very fussy about how it was held. Now, when it decides to work, it needs to be kept perfectly flat - even a few degrees off balance and it makes weird noises and stops working. That's in the off chance that it even gets past turning on and actually plays the CD.
I do not recommend this product. Get a different brand, pay a little bit more, and get something that lasts."

What's great about it: Nice looking: black & gray, with touches of silver. Line out jack. Large LCD display. Simple, logical control layout.
What's not so great: Touchy AC adapter socket.
"This seems like a nice unit. Simple and attractive, and so far plays everything I feed it (including burned CD's), with nary a "skip" (unlike the SONY unit it's replacing--which, although barely used, is wholly unreliable and prone to dropouts). The line out jack bypasses the volume control, and is useful for attaching to an external amp (as shown in my photo). The LCD readout is larger than many: about 1/2 inch tall, with stacked characters about 1/4 inch tall. The controls are simple, and logically arranged. The only problem I've found is that the AC power jack isn't fully compatible with my adapter--so that a slight twist of the cord, in the wrong direction, cuts the power. Despite that, all in all, not half-bad! I'm happy....... so far...."

"This product is really nice and works great expect ofr we had problems with the head phones. The cd player it self was and is great but the headphones we had to exchange them 3 times before I talked to the store to get something else. The head phones would just stop working. something was wrong in the wiring everytime. other than that great product."

"I can honestly tell everyone that this CD Player was the "BEST BUY" I have made in a long time ! (get the pun? l0l) Really. For twenty bucks I feel like I'm listening to a 1000 dollar system I L O V E IT !
